Update

on the Lycoris backpack.
Thanks for waiting! Live fire test of the second version of the backpack.
I actually remembered my rifle slings and target stands this time! Setup is just as functional as the V1 iteration, but has a lot less issues holstering.
I need to
@SNaFu_1313
Lets see, 7.62x51mm tracer is going for approximately $1 a round. A M134 can have a max rate of fire of 6000 rounds per minute. Assuming one minute of fire for a quad mount M134, each round a tracer, and a infinite supply of ammunition? $24,000 for every minute of continuous fire
Update 6 on the Lycoris bag:
Live fire test! Everything worked and it was fun at the range.
I'm still sorting through the footage, but I know a lot of you have been waiting for the live fire test.

Version 2 is finished and assembled!
Biggest changes from V1 are:
- Improved holster/magazine panels.
- Frame is slightly taller/wider

- Magnetic latches.

Here's the rest of the footage from the Lycoris backpack test day.
Planning on doing this again and getting more footage once the M&P is back from cerakote. Gotta remember my rifle slings this time!

Here's the fit and basic function test for the Lycoris V2 backpack!
In the previous iteration, the holstering was not very smooth and it was hard to guide in the firearm without looking. With the newer design, its much easier to line it up.

Update
#5
on the Lycoris bag:
The sides are permanently attached now which lets you use the pull rings to deploy the panels.
Built a riser and modified the mechanism to support a 5" slide/barrel.
Added a brace to the top of the frame.

Update
#3
for the Lycoris bag:
Used a cabinet latch to hold the panels in place.
Built the magazine panel and set the magazines at approx 60 degree angle.
Basically everything is all set and functioning. Just need to permanently attach the sides.

My MK18 clone is my main squeeze.
The lower on this rifle was my first AR15 lower I ever bought. I got it from a friend and I put on a Rock River upper with their old gigantic quad rails. Then it got swapped to a Midwest Industries SS rail. Both old uppers went through various
The Takina Custom M&P is all finished up for now.
Finally found someone selling an optics ready OEM M&P slide. Just need to order a threaded barrel now. No clearance issues with the backpack either!
Update
#7
for the Lycoris Bag:
The live fire testing revealed some flaws and design issues with the bag, so I went back to the drawing board and started working on the V2 of the Lycoris bag.
Here's the V2 design for the new magazine panel. I didn't like how the magazine pouches

If anyone's interested in getting art done, hit him up when he opens up. Easy to work with and the quality is undeniable.
Update on the Lycoris bag, swapped out the 30 degree single hinge for two double straight supports.
Mounted the holster and everything mechanically works, but need to do some fitting. Getting some clearance issues ATM.

Reagan passed the Milford Act banning open carry of firearms, including having loaded firearms near the state capitol.

.1 on the Lycoris bag.
In the first iteration of the firearm panel, I used a simple trigger guard only holster mounted to a L bracket. It worked, but there were a lot of issues.
First, there was a little lip from the L bracket which the front sight liked to get

Whisper Pickle in action!
Definitely worth the wait. It's a bit gassy on the 10.3", but it's apart of the experience. It was interesting to see how much carbon got blown back into the rifle or the casings. We could easily tell which casings were from me.

Tested out the Takina Custom at the indoor range today. Conversion barrel worked fine.
Target was at 15 yards. Shooting 115gr PMC bronze.
I need to adjust the sights a bit. Gun wants to shoot right and low ATM.

The fit for everything folded up is just about perfect. Clearance issues were solved and I can fully latch the top of the bag now.
Command strips are temporary to hold the bag in place until I decide to permanently attach the bag to the frame.
Unfortunately the backpack took some battle damage in the testing. I was using some cute Lycoris charms as pull tabs and broke one.
You can see breaking in the final MP5 clip.
I need to replace the chain with a leather strip or something.

I used a nice cosplay bag and built a mechanism to fit inside of the bag. Other ones I saw were made for airsoft. I decided to make one to support actual guns.
The base and side panels are PVC board. Frame is aluminum. Side supports are folding table legs.
If any of ya'all are at Dragon Con this week, I'll be wandering around as Takina with my backpack this Friday/Saturday. Come say hi and play with the bag. I'll probably be the only one with the working bag with the flight tags!

If you wait for sales, you can piece together a budget PSA freedom line. Last sale the upper was $150 and the complete lower was $100.
You can see in the test fit from the first version how its a bit more awkward to reholster. Twitter won't upload the other video I have for the holstering issues.
Not much of a difference in terms of usability on the V1 versus V2 magazine setup atm.
I built in a raised panel which helps guide the firearm without looking. Should be able to reholster without having to look now.
Live fire test soon. It's gotten warmer here, but it's been super windy during the daytime lately. Last time I recorded in the wind, my camera fell.
I also broke the brace because I took a shortcut and super glued it in place. I think the back and forth movements and deploying of the panels created too much sheer force which broke the glue spots.
I need to drill holes into the brace and properly screw it in place.

Several years back a guy liquidated his full auto collection to the store I frequent. Amongst them was a Stoner 63. It sat the longest before someone picked it up.

To answer the questions ya'all had, its a Primary Arms Aimpoint clone. The flashlight is a Surefire 6P replica body which takes modern heads/tail caps. In this case its a Surefire 640DFT head and DS07 tailcap. Muzzle
A quick look at the $200 Special Buy 1-6 LPVO Primary arms was offering.
It's definitely not daylight bright, but the glass quality is outstanding for the price. It's supposedly glass slightly worse than their GLX line, but much better than the SLX.

I sent off my old Gen 3 Glock 17 to get the slide milled for a RMR cut and nitride refinish by Wager Machine Works. The mill work is great and the refinish looks factory. Tossed in an OEM threaded Glock barrel too.
Definitely would recommend them. Only cost $145!
Found a cheap .40 5" slide and put in a conversion barrel to 9mm and bought another 4.25" slide.
I'll be sending them both in to get cerakoted to match Takina's M&P. Big thanks to
@FuryTomic
for sharing the cerakote color.
Needed to add the brace because when the bag was closed, the top of the frame was being compressed after adding the 1/2" riser. This led to some fitment issues.
I added the riser to support the 5" slide/barrel. Additionally I cut the bottom of the main panel for extra clearance.

$13 million was the contract price for 2021 for 7.62x51mm.
Gotta feed that military industrial complex. We normal folk just get the leftover stock. Lake City makes good ammo too.
You can see in this video, I'm hitting that L bracket lip with the front sight. Additionally, you can see because of the way the holster is mounted, there's a lot of snag points, including the rear sight on the panel itself.
And depending on your holstering angle, the holster

on the Lycoris bag:
Adjusted the front buckles. The panel can now open/close with the top latched.
Swapped out the particle board for 1/4" PVC plastic.

That scope has so much room to attach things for shenanigans.
Hook up triple flashlights to one pressure pad, red dots along the entire length, another railed scope. The possibilities are endless!

It's a modified cosplay bag. The internal mechanism was made by me. I would like to make a custom bag which would fit the mechanism better, but I do not have the skill for that.

Nah you're right. I just looked at the first in stock listing for 20 for $20. Some folks are selling bulk tracer for .65 per in 400 round boxes.
