Why would you put yourself through the ringer of teammate scoops, byes and IDs at the 8-man 2 slotter in some random LGS in Kentucky when you can just get there in the 300 ppl MODO PTQ EZ. Scooped the finals after turn one Island into Crab cause it's 7 am and I'd rather sleep

Apparently the 0-2 drop wasn't inevitable - I've only lost one match today and qualified for the SNC Champs which is infinitely more exciting than it was 48 hours ago with the OP changes! Played UWR Murktide w/o Channelers, list is below, matchups and thoughts are in the thread

It's been a while since I've gotten the last 5-0 10-0, so it feels cool. Miracles feel quite good with Brainstone, and red splash was good - mana is alright, and you don't have to play those stinky paths anymore

Finished #LMSSofia with a 10-4-1 record, good enough for 12th place and the RC qualification, which was my goal for the tournament. Quite happy with both my result and my play. Went with the UW list from my @MTGTeachings guide, I think it’s both strong and fun. MUs in the 🧵

SPTQ 25/07 Died in the semis to Hammer, which obviously sucks a bit but I'm still very pleased with my run. I've made a bunch of mistakes and fatigue missclicks, but the deck carried me - I haven't felt that way about a deck in a while and I think it's very very strong

Won today's standard challenge with @gabnassif 's UW. Deck's pretty good, it has some flaws but exploits current standard's metagame well and people aren't really trying to beat it, at least for now. Currently my front runner for Naples. Three Steps Ahead was quite impressive

DEFINITE Modern banned cards tierlist for 1/2023. Tiermaker missed some icons, I'd rank them as following: Uro - never (too stronk) SSG, Trickery and Field - never (dumb shit) Sanctuary - likely too good/stupid Yorion/Lurrus - obv CMox so high might be whack but I'm a believer

6-3 at #LMSPrague , threw round 6 so can only blame myself. Really pleased with the deck (and my play overall aside from the aforementioned punt), would registered the same 75 again (Charms were particularly fire). Playing a 1000+ ppl event again was mega poggers, matchups below

6-3’d the main event and bombed PTQ today at #LMSTrieste . This is the hardest deck I’ve played in a good while (maybe ever) and I was constantly feeling dumb cause it’s so hard to keep track of everything. Breach is busted in half just don’t play Grinding Station for god’s sake

12/12 Challenge Nice follow up to 7-2ing the Showcase, got 6-0 + r7 scoop in the swiss and then lost in qf to Phizzle (same GDS player I've played r4). Also got revenge on Hammer after getting knocked out by it yesterday. Grixis is cracked, can't go wrong with Lurrus/Rag/EI.

I’ve been playing a lot of Modern / Legacy the last few weeks, and I honestly believe that Ragavan makes both formats better (more so in Modern than Legacy). It’s an easy to kill creature that leads to more interactive games, and getting hit once or twice isn’t game over.

I've decided to try UB in Modern. Went 3-2 in my first league on Monday, 2-2 in the weekly paper tourney yesterday, and then I put Tyrant's Scorn in my deck and 5-0'd 10-0'd easily (matchups were Reanimator, Rhinos w/ Creativity, Burn, Mill and Amulet for those interested)

26/03 Modern Prelim R1 Amuletless Amulet ✔️✔️ R2 Bant Control ✔️✔️ R3 ETron ✔️✔️ R4 Jund ✔️✔️ R5 Dredge ✔️❌✔️ Deck felt really nice, less reliance on gy then Bant is good now, as is playing mostly on instant speed (esp vs Bant/Titan). Astrolabe is probably still worth playing

Had a good showing this weekend with esper - played it in constructed portion of EMS finals to a top8 finish, and then run it back for a top16 at the PTQ today. Happy with the list overall, will tune it further and then run it back next weekend in Ghent.

2/3 Challenge, Top 8 Was supposed to party with @BigBossAardos today, but he got sick, so stayed at home and played the Challenge. Got rewarded with a 7-0 in swiss into Mill, which is close to unwinnable, in the QF. Would play Hedge Maze over second Archive. Matchups in the 🧵

6-2-1 into 8-6-1 for min cash and good times in #LMSBarcelona . Played against Murktide/Scam, Hammer/Creativity/Merfolk multiple times, and Spirits/Rhinos once. I had very enjoyable and close matches every round, win or lose. Obligatory pretty picture of pretty cards included
