Striker max range 5b airtight guard break string from 72% health, this is pretty tight but with the correct delays you can slide forward during your string to get into DP(2) range. Pretty staple, works midscreen and corner. There are a few string recipes to minimize slide.

I think technicality has such a huge place in making fgs skillful and layered, and its not really like pointless nuance that people paint it out to be. Games should not just be about picking rps over and over again, sometimes the intricacies of how scissors is played adds a lot!

tl;dr: Strive's formula is fine, I'm in favor of the system changes but char balance really needs a comb. That hopefully gets ironed out nicely over time, but I think first impressions for release are important. Everybody at like Sol/Ram levels of potential is the way.

turns out jD's landing recovery itself is also special cancelable on hit, so you can pull extra "frame adv" compared to normal corner 5k link for non shock confirms. Also means you can convert midscreen backdash jS jD into stun dipper meterless...the boy!!!

last bit for now, jD's landing recovery also gets it's jump cancel option on contact. Delay this jD close to landing. The dash 5k/2k pickup after jD does more dmg w/ shock, but doesnt work on everyone. This is closer to optimal for non shock and fills out the rest for shock. lfg

If they are on the same frame, turn animation has priority over prox guard done with natural input (downback) so crossup knockdowns allow for instant overheads with normals that hit //the transitioning frame//. Here you can see im inputting 1 with enchantress and getting smoked.

As always, I'm really impressed with the amount of attention to detail that Sakurai & the team put into each new character in Smash Ultimate. Minecraft Steve is practically at Blazblue levels of character complexity & weirdness and I love it

Goldlewis no cap is probably the most interesting gameplay design in strive imo. I think if there was a character that played exactly like him, with his entire set of normals and specials, but was instead a pretty girl, I'd play the game. She would have to keep the alien, though.

prob not working as intended but lol, minimum height air dives during install while on a seal doesn't consume the seal or install gauge. These dashes are done lower than non install seal dash height so it doesn't consume seal, but the game prob cancels the cost cause "lol seal"
