@Quasicodo Lots of valid responses here. I think it's also very easy to get distracted with YouTube because links are so accessible and everything's free. With something like Udemy you don't run the risk of clicking on a Daily Dose of Internet video right after and breaking your flow.

Been reading Dotcom Secrets and one thing that's starting to burn into my brain is that the broader you audience is the harder it is to sell stuff. Sounds pretty obvious if you're business minded, but selling to "anyone over 25", "women in college" or "guys that own a prius"

@andreiacribeir They're great for building out your algorithmic thinking skills. In real world professional settings they're not very useful though. You may be better off building out successively larger projects. You learn a lot more that way.

It can't just magically learn based on the statistical pattern of weights it applies during each generation. In other words, there is no architecture internally to map its data

@nickseavert I don't think human curated art / games / movies will ever be replaced because nothing comes close to it. But "infinitely" generative games are probably on the horizon and will expand the space of what's playable. Most likely crappy at first, but there is way too much vested

@twinforces @bindureddy Those automated systems are not the kind of AI that has gained popularity recently. I think a lot of those systems have yet to get the proper LLM treatment, but theoretically, those new systems will be tens of times better than what most automated systems are now.

I cannot get over this book. It says that consciousness is a pattern. You have atoms arranged into molecule patterns, cell patterns, organ patterns, etc. But nothing new actually emerges in any of these layers. It's all about levels of description, like in a Mandelbrot set.
