Dude is a legend. Got sober, destroyed SPAC with his buddy Dave and then got the band back together 18 months later… and never looked back.
Pretty epic run
@treyanastasio
👊
Has there been a study of people who go to ALOT of concerts? Im convinced that group is one the most durable out there. Concerts are FULL of minor inconveniences, so u must see increased:
Resilience
Comfort in large crowds
Social connections
Stress mgmt
Problem solving
Patience
Funny how a “throwaway” song from one of your all-time favorite sets achieves must-listen status 28 years later.
here’s Trey’s solo from the Clifford Ball Sample. 🥵😭🤯
Thoughts on my first Tool show tonight:
Incredible experience.
Tool is pretty much hard rock/metal Phish with more lasers and less Ketamine & Molly. (Half serious)
Super nice people all around, everyone sits in their seats. No chompers, no cellphones (by order of band).

Tonight is my 200th show 🥹
28 yrs ago, I saw my 1st show @ MSG (12/30/95), so returning for
#200
is surreal.
Everything changed in that time- but your music remained vibrant & consistent. Something for us to lean on over the yrs.
THANK YOU to
@phish
. I’m extremely grateful ❤️
Took a birthday trip to Hoboken for arguably NJ’s best sandwich. (Neck and neck with Whitehouse Subs in Atlantic City!)
Fiore’s Thursday/Saturday Special: Homemade roast beef and mozzarella with garlic-soaked roasted red peppers and gravy.
To. Die. For.
Bad timing for Alpine Valley to start adding seats to their GA lawn. Was looking forward to seeing Phish there over the summer.
Construction is coming along nicely though…
Me: The Beatles doc is incredible!
Dad: Did you know I was at Apple studios in January 1969?
Me: While The Beatles were recording???
Dad: Yup. Didn’t meet them- just tons of their cigarette smoke.
Me: 🤯😭
📸: Dad’s Polaroid outside Apple Studios

Phish just performed their crown jewel, Gamehendge, in spectacular fashion on the world’s biggest stage.
Be sure to appreciate this masterpiece- because their forthcoming new album will make Big Boat sound like Led Zeppelin IV 😉😏
I know TAB & Derek played this at Peach a few years ago- but I refuse to believe this was a coincidence.
My heart tells me they played this gorgeous Life Beyond The Dream for our beloved James Casey.
Phish fans catch a bad rap.
But lemme tell you.. We soak up every drop of life. Everyone smiling, vibing, eyes closed, dancing for 3 hrs straight, hanging on every note. Dont see that many other places
After 200+ shows, I still feed off that warmth & energy to recharge my soul
Jamband folk don’t have nuthin on the poster scene at Tool.
At MSG with a couple poster heads and all venue posters are sold out 30 min after doors opened. 🤯🤯
Pretty 🔥
This shouldn’t be a hot take but apparently it is?
I personally loved 1999. Coming off 97/98, rapid evolution was still the name of the game. Some terrific ambient & bliss jams (& the year of WTU)
23 years ago today, Philly got one of my favorite shows/sets of the year:
Believe it or not, 12/3⭕️/95 isn’t my most important anniversary-
Today is.
10 yrs ago I jumped on tour with my beautiful bride and man it’s been a wild & wonderful ride.
Beyond grateful for you
@omgitsanna89
and the life we’ve created together.
🍻 to another 50 years! ❤️
These guys are a well-oiled machine. No covers, no nonsense & minimal chitchat. Just an extremely original, authentic 90s grunge throwback vibe.
I haven’t been to a show where I didn’t know a single name of a song in like 20 yrs. High expectations & they did not disappoint. 9/10
After battling kidney disease, we had to say goodbye to our beautiful Lillie. We had a perfect dance together for 9 yrs. The unspoken magic of companionship.
She fought like hell this week, purely to see us everyday & eat her fav food. Lead the way sweetheart. See u again. 🌈❤️
24 years ago- a college friend offered me a ride to Jazzfest for Phish. After being a no-show in the A.M, he later called from a payphone in NC saying he took a random girl instead.
Yesterday also happens to be the 24th anniversary of me never talking to that guy again. ✌️
Listen.. I get it. Newark, NJ is no gem.
But if you’re in town for a Devils game or concert and don’t go to Ironbound for life changing Portuguese food, I don’t know what to tell you..
Paella incoming.. 🤤
When I started my career in 2007, I told my boss “I enjoyed concerts”. 🙄 In turn, he partnered me with Ed, a Deadhead, who had seen 200+ shows. We immediately hit it off. Ed has now been my mentor for 15 years and I had the pleasure of taking him to his 1st Phish shows. (1/2)
I’m a month late- but Happy 25th to prob the most meaningful show I didn’t attend: Phil & Friends 4/16/99 w Kimock, Phil, Trey, Page & Molo 🥵🥰
I can’t really explain it- but this ‘Wish You Were Here’ has always provided a deep connection to the 1999 version of myself.

Somehow, today is the 20th anniv. of 12-11-99, an incredibly underrated show for the era. (And one of the rowdiest crowds I’ve ever seen)
🚨Warning🚨Set II Boogie On > Sally > Ghost > 2001 > DWD will take your lunch money.
@Finkerton
@brahmin_noodles
@PhishRadioSXM
Verizon tech came over today & noticed my Stealie blanket. I gave him a sideways look and he said “Do you like Phish?” 😏
45 minutes and a free upgrade later, dude is my new best friend. We talked Sphere, shared Clifford Ball stories, pics & ticket stubs.
Great dude.
I’ll never understand how fans can ALLOW this nonsense to continue.
Maybe it’s the NJ in me (or being 6’5?) but I would fucking love someone to try and give me some BS venue entrance rules. Or tell me where I allowed to dance in GA. Just once.
Like em or hate em, Goose threw down two extremely creative shows @ Hampton
Def a couple swing & misses- but if creativity is what we seek as live music fans- *plenty* of it was on display.
Bunch of the new covers will also find their way into rotation.. Post Malone🥇

A conversation w/
@TheVic
a month ago had me searching high & low for this 24 year old letter. Finally found it!
Shout out to my parents who let 15 people sleep in their basement for Phish holiday run ‘97. If those walls could talk.
Lotsa negative comments on here about how people chose to spend their New Year🤔
Its none of my biz to comment on who you paid to go see. Whether PH, UM, Goose, tDB, BMFS, Lotus, WSP or Miley Cyrus… You do you.
WTF people? Ur turning into your parents in real-time. Chill out
Let’s get this out of the way: BBQ is a medium of art where patience is rewarded at the intersection of experience & science.
That said.. $165 for this platter is BULLSHIT.
It’s not your customers fault you pay $9K/month in rent and this is how you recoup your investment.
Giving 2/28/2003 a well-deserved spin on its TWENTIETH birthday.
#20yearslater
and it’s still on my Mount Rushmore of non-festival/NYE shows.
Who else was there?? 🔥
@BenZeisloft
Don’t flatter yourself. Your comment isn’t some complex imagery- it’s Christofascism.
In your drafts folder, I’m sure you have a similar tweet- but instead of “Christian” you say what you really mean.. “white”.
Open letter to all Restaurants:
No one wants “bacon jam” on their burger. No one.
Bacon jam is like your shitty coworker who shows up empty-handed to the holiday pot luck dinner.
Put delicious, crispy bacon on your burger & save the cute shit for your salad section.

Been 2+ years in the making, but I finally got to experience Ricobene’s breaded steak sandwich. So over-the-top… but every bit worth the wait. 🤩🥹
Big thank you to
@VinnieParise
and
@katie_hennn
for the invite!
Ed doesn’t know names of Phish songs, but he loves their “grooves”. Now & again, he’ll listen to
@PhishRadioSXM
and text me a song name in approval- or he’ll let me know when tix are going onsale. 😭 My heart bursts everytime.
Ed wishes you ALL luck getting your tix today!! 🍀
Why has summer tour been so fantastic?
1) This is the most patient I’ve seen the band in nearly 20 yrs. Jams allowed to breathe + risks being taken = new 🔥 themes emerging every night
2) Jonathan Fishman. His importance as the soul of PH has never been more front & center

Oswego 25th anniversary. Super hot, super fun. Here’s my story:
9 days on tour at this point. Most of my crew was sick, beat down from heat. I was flying solo Day 2 & while waiting for early entry, I met a cool girl and we played cards for a couple hours. Ended up 3rd row.

Any Gen X or Millenials have MTV videos you still remember?
I first heard/saw the Grateful Dead in the Touch of Grey skeleton video-
But the 2 videos that stuck with me were the Cars’ “You might think” & Bon Jovi’s B&W video for “Wanted Dead or Alive”.
One week until the most aggressive (jamband) festival lineup I’ve seen in a long time.
@SacredRoseFest
Who will we see there?? Where my Chicago people at?
