My mum is 71, has been in a wheelchair for the past 33 years with Multiple Sclerosis and today was on her first ever Zoom call, having a briefing as she starts as a volunteer this week phoning those who are isolated.

Two dedicated MPs, two great men, two devastated families. Parliament lost both within days of each other in very different circumstances. It is so hard to make sense of the world sometimes.
Found this incredible image online of David Amess asking Theresa May for Southend to be made a city, as always with James Brokenshire laughing on.
Both were exceptionally talented MP’s, taken long before their time - and within a few days of each other. Remember them like this.
Emotional to watch all of this, and performed so well, especially given the loss involved. Phenomenal from
@PennyMordaunt
, only appointed midweek to a role she’s had no time to prepare for, of huge historical significance and live on tv for the first time
Proud Mum alert! My 12 year old has been selected for a COVID symptom study. After explaining to him about the letter I received, I asked if he was up for it, and he replied immediately: ‘Yeah, you’ve got to do your bit haven’t you?’ 👏👏👏

Ukrainian refugee kids arrive in Italy, and start at local schools. On their first day they enter nervously. You won’t believe what the Italian kids did next …
It’s been a fantastic sixteen years, achieving way more than I ever imagined. Good things must come to an end but this was always way better than just good, it’s been the best time with brilliant people. Now time to recharge and reinvent

My boyfriend has created a personalised advent calendar for me, consisting of 23 individually wrapped and numbered gifts for each day leading up to Christmas. First one was some hand delivered (by him) flowers and day 2 is a tea light holder/mobile. Reckon he could be a keeper…
Not been a fan of the stunts so far but the
@LibDems
had a plan to get Ed some attention and then explain who he is. Bravo, executed perfectly! Both Ed’s videos have moved me this week. If they can crack the manifesto then this campaign could really cut through
Caring isn’t just my family's story, it is the story of millions, caring for each other, dealing with tough times, and keeping going with love.
Sharing our story hasn't been easy, but it's important. It's time to bring carers' experiences into the light.
Been accepted as an NHS Responder, just confirmed my details on the App. Am self isolating, and on day9 since my symptoms emerged so hopefully can get cracking by next weekend. And am already standing by for phone support in the meantime.
Just completed my second vaccination centre volunteering. Lots of big smiles as people enter and leave, has felt amazing to be part of this huge effort.
I started playing footie at the age of 40, establishing the first UK Parliamentary Women’s Team

My hairdresser is awesome. She’s spent a fortune on PPE and sanitisers. She was worried about the risk of infection, I was more worried about her reaction to my home dye job. Good luck to those opening salons and working their magic today

Well said Ayesha! You can wish a candidate well on their campaign and admire the qualities they personally have to make a good MP. Life shouldn’t have to be politically tribal all the time
This is actually pretty non-partisan.
@IainDale
is Tory. I’m Labour. But you can wish someone from the other side well. You don’t have to hate everyone who doesn’t agree with you. I’m proud to have friends from the SNP, the Tories, Lib Dems & across the political divide.
Oooh! 29 years ago I didn’t get the grades to attend
@QMUL
but was later offered a place after a remarked ALevel paper. I turned it down as I was bruised and didn’t have the courage to join after the course had started. Today I’m speaking here at a conference on influence.

Opened the door to my 80-something yr old ‘paper boy’ this morning to ask if he needed anything and before I could speak he asked if I and my 70-yr old disabled mum needed any shopping 🥰
Whatever your politics

I’ve just explained to

why I have decided to pull out of being a candidate for Tunbridge Wells. As you can imagine, it’s not been the easiest week! But that’s modern day politics, and I knew that when I got into it.

My son and I were out volunteering today, delivering hot meals to the most vulnerable in our area. Impressed to see people queuing patiently and parks empty on our travels. My co-pilot here, was very good at figuring out the route so the meals stayed hot.

An important intervention from the Sunday Times speahearheaded by my dear friend, the brilliant
@cazjwheeler
to try and help the victims of this awful scandal.
The victims of the contaminated blood scandal have waited far too long for justice. I am so proud and humbled to throw the weight of the Sunday Times behind the brave campaigners who have fought so valiantly for so long.

What incredibly sad news. James was not only my local MP a few years ago, and excellent at it too, but he was genuinely kind and supportive, encouraging Katie and I over the years. A first rate public servant, he will be missed. Sending love to his family and friends.
Last appearance at the end of a long election of punditry. Thanks to

We could not have got this far without some amazing people along the way and a lot of hard work. No better place to have spent the past 14 years and thank you to everyone who has supported, or continues to support us.
We are 14yrs old today. Is a strange time to be a small business but we have lots to be grateful for, including a fantastic team and brilliant clients. We are thankful for all the support we have had over the years.
Had no idea what Sepsis signs were and shocked when listing Mum’s symptoms yesterday and told to call 999. I had to discuss resuscitation plans but it looks like she was treated just in time. And time with Sepsis is vital. Know the signs and for info visit

The PM set the election date knowing D-day would end up in the campaign period. Why didn’t he do a deal with all parties to say we cease campaigning for the day to allow all politicians around the UK to pay respects? This could have all been avoided by showing some leadership.
The 80th anniversary of D-Day has been a profound moment to honour the brave men and women who put their lives on the line to protect our values, our freedom and our democracy.
This anniversary should be about those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. The last thing

It is incredibly frightening to watch. I remember us being skint when my parents had split up and my dad took all my mum’s money and bank cards. We’d never had to worry about paying for food and I have never forgotten how tough it was.
Thrilled to get an email from my son’s school today with a clear outline of my son’s homeschooling day, setting timetables and clear expectations. He changed from a dire school in November and this has cheered up a very bleak day today.
