"Those people down there. They are never small to me. Don't make assumptions about how far I will go to protect them, because I've already come a very long way. And unlike you, I don't expect to reach the Promised Land."

During a Q&A, Jenna Coleman talked about how Peter Capaldi showed up on set in his own clothes to play the guitar for the scenes of Clara in her own TARDIS.
She said it was so she could have an eye line, but it was an eye line to Peter and not the Doctor

Me: I completely understand and respect Peter Capaldi's choice to never return to Doctor Who. His era was perfect and ended exactly the way it needed to end.
PC (for the hundredth time): I'm not coming back. I've had my time. I like to think my Doctor is still out there.
Me:
"Your version of good is not absolute. It is vain, arrogant, sentimental. And if you're waiting for me to become that, I'm going to be here for a long time"
Extremis has some great lines in it.
"Goodness is not goodness that seeks advantage. Good is good in the final hour, in the deepest pit, without hope, without witness, without reward. Virtue is only virtue in extremis"

Capaldi is trending. Peter Capaldi is a gem. He showed passion, love, and joy for Doctor Who during his time tenure. Unbelievably kind to his fans. His era has some of the most interesting and unique explorations the show has ever done.
Also, he's just a plain brilliant actor
I don't know why "Capaldi" is trending. But, Peter Capaldi is a gem. Incredibly talented. His Doctor Who era is outstanding and peak and interesting. History will prove kind to it.
Also, I can't wait for Criminal Record in a couple weeks and S2 The Devil's Hour later in 2024.
Capaldi's Doctor got to have a meaningful storyline with the Master. He went to Skaro and dealt with Davros. He got to fight the Mondasian Cybermen. He met the First Doctor. He had to deal with grief, acceptance, letting go, everything with Clara and River. He had a full arc
Clara wasn't a special magical person. She really was an ordinary woman who did an amazing thing. She wanted to save the Doctor. Her friend. So, she jumped into his timestream. A few of her echoes met the Doctor, and that caused him to view her as Impossible....
"Of course, the real question is, where did I get the cup of tea? Answer, I'm the Doctor. Just accept it."
I don't understand why some people get upset at this
Good men don't need rules. Today is not the day to find out why I have so many.
The Doctor is no longer here! You are stuck with me. And I will end you and everything you love.
#DoctorWho
Doctor: You betrayed me. You betrayed my trust. You betrayed our friendship. You betrayed everything that I ever stood for. You let me down!
Clara: Then why are you helping me?
Doctor: Why? Do you think I care for you so little that betraying me would make a difference

Eaters of Light premiered 7 yrs ago. I actually quite like it. I like the folklore feel of it. I like the idea that they landed in this adventure simply because 12 and Bill wanted to see which of them were right about the fate of the Roman legion.

Oxygen aired 7 yrs ago. It has one of the best cold opens with the Doctor monologuing about Space wanting to kill us. A good base under siege story. 12 willingly risking himself to save Bill by giving her his helmet.
I love how the blind storyline continues. 1/3

I'm repeating myself: Heaven Sent is one of those episodes that opens your eyes to the fact that you are watching and experiencing a work of art. Every piece had to fall into place or it wouldn't have worked. It really is a triumph
Bill- Have you ever killed anyone? There's a look in your eyes sometimes that makes me wonder
Dr-There are situations where the options are limited
Bill- Not what I asked
Dr- Sometimes the choices
Bill-That's not what I asked!
Dr-Yes
Bill- How many? Don't tell me. You've moved on
Danny Pink is such a misunderstood character. I don't see how he can be viewed as abusive or controlling. He didn't demand Clara stop travelling with the Doctor. He wanted her to be honest with him.
The fact that we're never going to see Peter Capaldi associated with Doctor Who again in any way, not even for special features, is just heartbreaking.
Reminder that while filming at a Power Station, Peter Capaldi wandered off and came back to the shoot soaking wet. Jenna Coleman has never let him forget it.

Time of the Doctor- Best Regeneration Speech
Twice Upon a Time- Best Regeneration Episode
"I suppose one more lifetime wouldn't kill anyone. Well, except me."
I remember Steven Moffat tweeted during the Heaven Sent watchalong that he thought Peter's performance in it was the single best performance by a Doctor. If the Doctor was a real person, then he would be Peter Capaldi
In Peter Capaldi's run in Doctor Who, he had a deep relationship with Clara. He had one of the most complex & unique takes on the Doctor/Master relationship. He got to have interesting scenes with Davros. He had Heaven Sent. So, I don't understand this idea he was let down
The Pilot premiered 7 yrs ago. I love Bill Potts' introduction. I love that 12 was drawn to her, because she smiles when she doesn't understand something. I love that he is laying low but gets drawn into Bill's adventure. Professor 12 isπ₯

We all change, when you think about it. We're all different people all through our lives. And that's ok... you've got to keep moving, so long as you remember all the people you used to be. I will not forget one line of this....I will always remember when the Doctor was me
It's a shame Peter Capaldi's era gets saddled with "poor writing" criticism when scattered throughout his seasons are gems like Deep Breath, Mummy, Listen, Face the Raven, Dark Water, Time Heist, Magician/Witch, Heaven Sent, Hell Bent, Oxygen, etc
#DoctorWho
Heaven Sent/Hell Bent. HS appears like the Doctor is fighting through grief and comes through the other side. Then we get to HB, and we realize he hasn't gotten over anything. He hasn't accepted anything. He went through all of that torment for the end goal of changing her death
History will only favor Peter Capaldi's era of Doctor Who more and more. Time will show his era was truly brilliant filled with great characterizations.
8 years ago the masterpiece that is Heaven Sent premiered. It is an extraordinary episode in every way. It's part of one of the greatest explorations of grief in Doctor Who.
The writing, directing, acting, music, editing, set design all came together to make a work of art.
I do love the 12/Bill team. I love that Bill reminds him of Susan. I love their teacher/student relationship that becomes more. They become a family. It's a relationship that is rare in "New Who," and it is possible we won't get that type of dynamic again
Some behind the scenes of Heaven Sent.
One of the biggest shames is that we don't have footage of Peter Capaldi rehearsing as Tom Baker or William Hartnell. Rachel Talalay mentioned that he did that.

Peter Capaldi was an amazing Doctor whose era was filled with splendor. A fantastic character arc. Wonderful drama. Humor. Depth. Friendship. Hope. Love. And yes, yes, yes, yes, his era had great writing too.
He fully embodied the Doctor.
