The incredibly talented
@DRFLivingston
spent time with Grand Facile on Monday after the Derby. I think Barbara captured not just the kind eye, but the quiet nobility of our Louisiana Champion, don’t you? Grand Facile is the horse crush of my life & in foal to Goldencents.
SHE DID IT AGAIN! Our Thoroughbred mare, Star Legacy, just produced her second foal, both of which have been Leopard Appaloosas. This colt was a late night arrival, and Mom and Baby are both doing well. In person this black and white baby is quite striking! Well done Mom!
My Dad died this afternoon. His life was very difficult the past few months, but he fought the good fight.
Had little education but was brilliant. A Korean War-era veteran & successful small farmer for over 60 years. He loved animals & instilled my love of horses. Love you Dad.
Another pup dumped near one of our farm gates. You guessed it. We will give him a home.We didn’t need him....but he needed us. Vet said he is mostly Great Pyrenees-YIKES! He will be a bruiser & that double coat will be awfully hot in our 100+ summers but our ponds R for swimming
When Mama has been hospitalized for 9 days, Baby has too. First time out of the hospital stall, the pure joy he experiences is obvious, but Mom tells him to stay close a couple of times. Baby racehorses just love to run and he ran the entire 20 minutes they were allowed out. 🐴🙏

I STAND WITH HOLLAND’S FARMERS. Taking land farmed and owned by their families sometimes for generations to further the agenda of the New World Order, an agenda championed by Klaus Schwab and the World Economic Forum, and in the U.S. by the financially elite, like Bill Gates.
Hello friends,
I am so very pleased to report that our Flat Out colt will be released from the hospital today. He is weak and has lost a lot of weight, but the little guy is a fighter. He is back to nursing and is so much happier. So are we. Prayerful Easter to all our friends.
I watched as this little foal’s mom covered him in hay to keep him warm on a wet, cold and nasty day in Louisiana. I think the little foal was loving it!
HERE SHE IS!! Our little GRACIE. My heart is full. 31days post surgeries and post-surgical peritonitis and 13 days after her release from hospital.The twinkle in her eyes has returned and she was so happy to see me. I got to walk her around the barn and she nuzzled me. How great!
Driving from our farm to Weems and Stephens equine hospital this morning (200+ miles each way) to see our little Gracie, I received an encouraging call. Gracie’s temp dropped 2 degrees overnight. They removed her last drains this morning. She is still very sick, but progress.1/2
Here’s Gracie! (Collected x Grand Facile). Born 4 weeks premature at <70 pounds, we worried she would not make it. Her lungs might be too immature and her bone density might be too fragile. But at almost 2 weeks now she is thriving and weighing in at a spunky 84 pounds! Cute too!
My mother died tonight with her family all around her.Tiniest little lady with the biggest heart of anyone you will ever meet. Loved completely and very proud of every 1 of us. 2 children, 3 grands, and 5 great grandchildren. Died exactly 4 weeks after my Dad. Luv you Mom❤️💔❤️
UPDATE: This is the picture that Cindy and I have been hoping and praying for! Flat Out baby feeling much better today. Still needs to gain weight but he is nursing aggressively and eating whatever Mom will share with him. Getting his moxie back!!
@bergenstables
UPDATE! Many of you recall Grand Facile foaling her Collected ‘22 filly a month early. Her foal was so tiny and we were not sure she would survive. Well, just look at our little preemie today. Strong and healthy. Soon to be weaned. So thankful!🙏🍀🐎
DOUBLY BLESSED. Sunday night our mare, Southern Allure, foaled this chestnut colt with the pretty blanket. Less than 24 hours later our mare, Star Legacy, foaled this bay leopard filly that I think is amazing. Interestingly they were bred on the same day, by the same stallion. 🍀
Weekend Update: Baby Goldie and Hope.
Made the long drive to Cross Roads, TX today and was so happy with how their relationship has matured. They are now, w/o question, Mom and Son. Our beloved mare, Wave The Colors, would be so proud of her son and of Hope for helping raise him.
Many of you know my Dad died recently after an extended illness. Monday, after his funeral, my Mom was diagnosed with terminal cancer and placed in Hospice protocols.Yes, these are tough times for my family, but many of you have gone through tough times too.TY for your kindness.
All my life I have wanted an Appaloosa. YIPPEE, I have one. Southern Allure, a sister of Private Promise and Beauregard, was bred to a World Champion Appaloosa & her first foal was just born a few minutes ago. Has not even stood yet. He is big, healthy & as App lovers say, Fancy!
Look who made his appearance just a few hours ago. It’s Private Promise and her Goldencents son! We have been on pins and needles waiting on this little guy. Both Mom (first foal) and son doing well. 🍀🐴🍀
Just a bit of an update on our Flat Out colt this morning. He seems better and brighter, and the attending vets have removed his muzzle allowing him to nurse for the first time in several days. Getting stronger. We are cautiously optimistic. We believe in the power of prayer. 🙏
WELCOME TO THE WORLD, Little One. Grand Facile gave us the biggest surprise early this morning. Almost 4 weeks premature and such a tiny little filly. Made it through her first 12 hours and she has a a good chance now. She already has us wrapped around her little hooves. 🙏🙏❤️
Through the tears and there have been way too many lately, a beautiful ray of sunshine has peeked through the clouds. This morning Angelof Gettysburg foaled a big, beautiful, strong and healthy colt by Flat Out. He has her stockings & a big blaze. Pics are at about 8 hours. 🙏🐴
Everyone deals with home/farm confinement differently. St. Patrick’s Day I took Cindy to Little Rock for surgical follow up and we learned the Little Rock Animal Shelter would be forced to close indefinitely/Corona Virus concerns. We decided right then to rescue one. Meet Paddy.
Many of you will remember the story of our colt, Beauregard, who was orphaned as a baby when his beautiful mom, Wave The Colors, did not survive colic surgery. Enter an Angel nurse mare named Hope. So very many to thank and will. Beauregard stood proud and strong today. RIP Wave.
Morning Update. Another positive report from Gracie’s surgeon to start my day. Hallelujah. Gracie’s temps remain under control. She is starting to get the spark of happiness. She got out of her hospital stall for the first time and was walked and allowed to pick a little grass!
Twitter friends, thought you might get a kick out of this video with Baby Goldie on his first day home. Had him and the mini together for about an hour and took this short video. Found a wonderful home for the mini with one of our farm vets who has three little girls, 6, 4 & 2.
LOOK WHO I UNLOADED from my trailer this pm, It is our Champion, Grand Facile! I told her when I loaded her this morning that this trailer ride would be unlike any other. She is coming home to stay! No more trips to Lexington or New Orleans, She returns as Queen of our farm.❤️❤️
Cindy and I are devastated to report that Tale Of The Prince, our homebred gorgeous boy by Tale Of The Cat, out of our Champion, Grand Facile, suffered a catastrophic leg injury after finishing his race at Delta last week. My last words to him “You are loved always and forever”.
Our barn cat, Miss Kitty, went missing about a month ago. She showed back up tonight—along with 3 of the cutest, blackest little kittens ever! She enjoyed showing them off. Welcome back and well done Miss Kitty.
Our newly orphaned Goldencents foal and I have just left equine hospital in Louisiana on our way to meet our nurse mare, step-mom in Cross Roads, TX. We are riding together in our trailer and hope to make it in around 4 to 4 1/2 hours. He is a champ so far but misses Mom. 🙏🍀🙏
Well, could not pull off the impossible today in handicapping Rich Strike to win the Kentucky Derby, but may have pulled off a genetic home run in mating my maiden thoroughbred mare, Southern Allure, to a World Champion Appaloosa. This guy, at a month old now, is a BOSS!
Rest In Peace beautiful mama, Wave The Colors. We will never, ever forget you. You brought so much joy into our lives and I promise to do everything possible to save your Goldencents baby. We are on the way to meet his nurse mare, but he will never, ever forget you either.
Our Appaloosa babies are just thriving and both thoroughbred moms look great. I love the hip on Southern Allure’s chestnut baby. And those spots on Star Legacy’s filly❤️. Maybe I should breed more Appaloosas. My first two have made me very happy!
Twitter friends, we have had a setback with Beauregard. Two days before he was to run in the Champions Day Classic at Fairgrounds he sustained an fracture of the basilar sesamoid. He is scheduled for surgery at LSU in Baton Rouge on Monday. Your thoughts and prayers appreciated.
I believe in the power of prayer, and of positive thinking. Today is going to be difficult as I leave home for surgery this morning. It will be always appreciated if you can send a prayer and your positive thoughts. Thanks and love to all of you.
Mama Angelof Gettysburg and Baby Court Vision have now been out of hospital for one week and they get some limited turnout while she recovers from colic surgery. Baby took advantage to work some kinks out from stall life.
Unbelievably, someone appears to have dumped this beautiful little mini outside our farm gates yesterday. He is adorable and friendly. Have checked with the local mini breeders and none claim him. He is a little stud colt- I have lots of TB mares on our farm so can’t keep him.
BEAUREGARD!! From orphan foal to 3 straight wins. Gotta believe that our sweet Wave the Colors and foster mom Hope were urging him on. He doesn’t blink when horses pass, he just keeps battling back. Hardest thing in world-identify heart in a racehorse. He has it!!
#GoldiesCanRun
Friends, I can’t believe that I need another favor, but Wave Goodbye, her first foal, and Cindy and I need your positive thoughts and prayers. At first check this morning, Wave was found down and unresponsive. She was rushed to the hospital and determined to have pneumonia (1/2)
Look who made an appearance early this morning. It’s Grand Facile’s Goldencents colt!! Big Bouncing Baby Boy. Just a few hours old and already checking out his new world.
Grand Facile and baby both doing well.
@spendthriftfarm
@NSaysocial
@murphyforever
It has been an incredibly difficult week. Our 2 y.o. filly, Princess Facile, by Collected & the last foal of our wonderful Champion Grand Facile, started to colic on Wednesday while in training at Highlander Training Center and was rushed to Weems & Stephens equine hospital (1/2)
Welcome to the world little one (with the long legs!). By Goldencents out of our homebred stakes winner, Private Promise. Your very first day and you get snow in Louisiana! We may need help from all our Twitter friends giving him a barn name with a weather theme!
Just brought home our 2 year old filly, “In BJ’s Honor” (BJ) for a 60 day R&R before beginning her major race training. She was the last foal my mom (BJ) got to see before she succumbed to cancer and Mom just loved this little filly.
Listen to hear how happy she is to be home.
Late Today: Both are looking a little worse for the wear only 24 hours after being released from a week of being hospitalized, but Baby Flat Out can now eat and nurse and is not hooked up to IV’s for his only nourishment, and Angel is so glad to see the sun. Baby steps...🙏🍀🐴
She underwent emergency colic surgery and appeared to have excellent results until now. Just received a call from her surgeon that her temp has spiked to 104-105 degrees and it is undetermined what has changed. Please pray with us that our Gracie comes through this. We love her.
Just had to share today’s video with our Twitter friends. Angel’s Flat Out baby is now recovering nicely from his hospitalization. Morning feeding brings a rush. 2 things to notice. Baby Flat Out gets too far from Mom and gets corrected. A Belgian nurse mare has joined the group.
What I hope to get across is that if your efforts at the farm are not showing results, don’t continue as we did with the initial vet recommendations. Take your horse to a clinic or hospital with all the equipment needed for a correct diagnosis. We are praying that Angel makes it.
Wonderful News! From the hospital at lunch today. They have cultured the organism/pathogen that caused the huge abscess. It is a huge long name, akin to Strangles, but thank God not as deadly nor as contagious. Now that the pathogen is cultured the right antibiotics are next!!🙏
Showing off a little of her personality, Gracie keeps reminding us that foals can overcome a lot, including being foaled very prematurely. Thanks so much to the farm workers and the good folks at Channon Farm and her attending vets, Gracie has her chance of realizing her dreams!
And now for something completely different. While Cindy and I are breeding six of our mares this year to such sires as Goldencents, Collected, Thousand Words and Coal Front, we have also bred 2 mares to World Champion Leopard Appaloosa sire, Hypnotist. My parade pony is coming!
Big Happy Update: Made the long drive over to check in with Baby Goldie and Hope this afternoon and I am still on a high. Happy to report that Baby Goldie is thriving and the relationship now is Mom and Son. Wave The Colors, your son is loved, and I bet will make you proud. .
Beauregard—Big News!
Cindy and I are so😄to announce that Beauregard’s journey has come full circle. We have today purchased Beau privately and have entered him in the Louisiana Legends Cheval stakes at Evangeline Downs June 5. From orphan foal (RIP Wave The Colors) to 3x winner
Just have to share my two Appaloosa foals who turned two weeks old today. You all know Cindy and I for our thoroughbreds but I am over the moon and in love with our first Baby Appys. The Chestnut colt is a brute physically. Looks 2 months old! The leopard filly melts my heart!
UPDATE: Several of you have been asking about Angelof Gettysburg and her Flat Out colt. I am happy to report both are continuing to recover and regain weight and strength after their health scares and hospitalizations. I think Baby Flat Out will catch up with his buds soon.
Hey friends, took a couple of pics today of Angelof Gettysburg’s Flat Out colt. He’s now 1 day old, not a shy guy, actually quite camera friendly & loves posing.
Angel told us she deserved every one of today’s carrots...something about that Big Boy she just delivered. 🍀
Goldie and mom sharing their first unsupervised nursing together in a paddock turnout. And never will we forget Wave The Colors who was the classiest brood mare that
@SouthernLegacy
has ever raised. Many many thanks to all of you

Memorial Day Update. I see signs of progress this morning with both Angelof Gettysburg and her foal. I thought Angel’s eyes looked clearer and the foal appeared much healthier and less lethargic. Angel has not aborted her Flat Out baby so far. I KNOW that prayers are helping.
Morning Update 7/11/2024. Another positive report from Gracie’s surgeon this morning. Her fever is being managed successfully and she is much brighter. She now wants to be walked some outside where she can pick some grass. 1/2
Twitter friends,
Cindy and I are in Little Rock tonight readying for Cindy’s surgery in the morning. I would sure appreciate your prayers and best thoughts for her tomorrow. She is so anxious, but we have faith that all will be good.
Update: Just received this photo today from
@MistyKnox10
after her visit with Hope and Baby Goldie this afternoon. If there is such a thing...I am smiling Out Loud!
I am hoping to get loose to make the long drive to check in on them Thursday or Friday and will post pics🙏🍀🐴
Our first foal of the season arrived last night. A tall, leggy chestnut filly who is trying to get those long legs all going in the right direction to stand and walk. Private Promise is giving her tips and mommy encouragement. By Volatile x Private Promise.
So excited to post these brand new pictures of Baby Goldie and his new Nurse Mare-Step Mom, Hope. These were taken just a few minutes ago and in the words of our orphan foal specialist, Jackie, the two are “progressing”.
@SarahHorsegirl
@bergenstables
@Kerrycouch4
@leahbrandon2
I tell you this is one of the sweetest (and cutest) foals we may have ever had. Now not even two days old, she just wanted to play and play today. Went outside with Mom and had the best time. Believe me, not shy at all. I love her already. Volatile x Private Promise.
Star Legacy’s son at one week old. Still has all those spots and flashes and Mom has made a remarkable recovery as well. He gets lots of lookers.
Trying to register him for the 2024 Dalmatian Olympics! Not sure what his best event will be but open to suggestions!
UPDATE. Many of you have kept up with our Beauregard, from the loss of his mom, Wave The Colors, to our desperate search for a nurse mare, to finding Hope and a happy ending. Now look at our boy, almost grown and learning to be a race horse with Vision of Angels also by his side.
Want to see a little preemie thriving? Despite a downpour of over 2” in just a couple of hours, little Gracie was later turned out at her foaling farm to stretch her legs and to ask me whether I had brought her galoshes and mom’s carrots. Notice she is even developing a belly!
HALLELUJAH UPDATE! After 18 difficult days, Gracie was just discharged from Weems and Stephens Equine Hospital and is being placed in a nearby stall care facility for the next 30 days. If all goes well Cindy and I will then pick her up to come home with us.God is Great! 🙏❤️🍀🐎
Vet just left and we received wonderful news concerning Angelof Gettysburg. Even after all the surgery and hospital stays, she remains in foal to Flat Out AND now she gets longer turnouts with her Court Vision foal. Prayers are amazing. Thank you all!!!!!
Morning update. Gracie’s fever is down to 102! It appears the new antibiotics are taking hold. Her surgeon was upbeat and cautiously optimistic. Your prayers, my visit and the antibiotics may…just may…send us the miracle we have been praying for Gracie. Thank you Lord! 🙏❤️🤞
Hi Friends! Thought I would post some fun pictures today. Have any of you seen a headless foal? Well, here’s one! Goldie can sleep in any position.Flat Out says a sunny afternoon is just perfect for a snooze.I added a couple of “regular” pictures too. Moms and babies doing well.
Many of you are familiar with Beauregard, Goldencents colt out of our beloved Wave The Colors, who coliced and died shortly after his birth. Today, his first breeze. Hope, you stepped in and raised a smart boy, all grown up.
@SarahHorsegirl
@JanieDeveny
Lots of people will tell you that a racehorse does not know whether he wins or loses his race. To that I say Nonsense! Just look how proud our 2 year old Goldencents colt, Pocket Money, was while returning a debut winner.
@marktoothaker
@murphyforever
UPDATE: From losing his beautiful mom, Wave The Colors, to finding his Hope, this young man is growing into his future-from his barn name “Bo” to his new official name, BEAUREGARD!! It has been quite the ride so far, with so much more to come. Thanks for always being there.
BEAUREGARD!! You are our hero. From orphan foal to 5x winner. This race in the rain & slop at historic Fairgrounds Race Course in New Orleans. Beau showed us his heart getting up in the last jump. My heart is full for the son of Goldencents and our late mare, Wave the Colors🙏🙏
Hello friends. On a positive note our Champion mare, Grand Facile, celebrates her birthday today. She is in Kentucky and in foal to Goldencents.
On a much more difficult note, I request your prayers for our young Flat Out colt who is hospitalized. More on his condition to come.
Here are pics from today’s extended visit with Hope and Goldie. As you can see Goldie is quite adaptable. Now he just needs Hope to have a change of heart, to love and adopt him.
Initial introductions went well. Baby Goldie was not bashful and the nurse mare was pretty patient as he nursed constantly for an hour. Baby Goldie looked at me, smacked his lips and said he really needed that! Now over the next couple of days we need her to adopt him as her own
This evening as I returned from bushhogging in the south meadows, I turned into the home lane and was met by two of our retired geldings running to meet me. That was an welcoming sight after a long day.
By the way that is Tuff Tiz (Tiznow) and Culp’s Hill (Eddington).🤠🐎
Cannot believe this. Another of my mares, Angelof Gettysburg, is now in colic distress and Surgeon just called and starting emergency surgery now. Surgeon says her prognosis is difficult. She has a 3 month old colt at her side by Court Vision. I am wrecked. Please pray for her🙏
Hey, friends...requesting a little prayer from all of you for my Cindy, who had emergency surgery today and has had a tough go of it so far tonight with a few complications. We believe she will get better soon but your prayers will help. 🙏
How about this? 2 weanlings self-loading for trip to our home
@SouthernLegacy
at noon today. That’s Goldencents x Private Promise who loaded w/o encouragement and next Flat Out x Angelof Gettysburg (dark bay w/ Fabio locks) loading in the video. Will post photos from home later.
GRACIE is growing! Now a month old, Grand Facile’s little preemie continues to surprise, growing and filling out. She just adores attention. Mom is proud of Gracie and is happy to share her with us. (Don’t worry, the red glow in the photo is from the heat lamps in their stall!)
Pepper’s Pride was euthanized y’day after losing her battle with damned and dreaded laminitis. She was 16 and a contemporary of our Champion filly, Grand Facile, so I followed her career closely. No mare has ever retired with a better record. She was well loved by many. RIP💔
Traveled to Pilot Point, Texas to say thanks again to Jackie, an orphan foal specialist, who along with Hope, nurse mare, helped save the life of our Goldencents/Wave the Colors ‘18 foal. Jackie also has a yearling bay Leopard Appaloosas filly “Dottie” I love and have to have!
On my drive to check on Gracie, recovering in a care facility in Pilot Point, Texas, I stopped by to check on our 2 y.o.colt by Goldencents x our stakes winning homebred mare, Private Promise. Turning into a man! 16.1 hands and 1025 pounds already! Thx
@HighlanderTrai3
BITTERSWEET DAY. Our homebred,Flat Out Fabio,4 years old and 16.3 hands of gorgeousness as well as the kindest, most gentle soul to step foot on a racetrack, leaves today to begin his second career as a budding superstar in the show/eventing world. We will follow him every step.
UPDATE: Grand Facile’s Preemie foal when not much bigger than a puppy last year, with undeveloped lungs,that we just hoped to save. Now a yearling filly we named Princess Facile. She looks a miniature Grand Facile. Still a bit short but almost 900 pounds. PTL for little miracles!
Meant to post this pic yesterday but frankly, I was a bit embarrassed that neither Angel nor her Flat Out baby had been groomed....but it has been raining here seemingly every day for weeks on end and both are looking a bit shabby and unkempt. Baby needs to start growing again!
“Winning races is the greatest feeling, as all owners know, but at the end of the day, going to bed at night knowing we put our horses first is the real win... It is our obligation to ensure a better life for our thoroughbreds during and after their racing careers.”
@LNJFoxwoods
An update for all who helped Wave Goodbye and her foal “Button” make it through some tough times during their hospitalization. Button has since shed her baby coat and is now a dark bay. She is a dandy foal. Wave is better but really needs to gain weight. Boy are these two close!
Several have asked to see Private Promise’s 2022 foal, a colt by Goldencents. He is in Kentucky now with Mom who is to be bred to Midnight Lute this coming week. Here he is yesterday at 3 weeks of age. A big boy and under the expert care of our friends at
@FarmMulholland
BEAUREGARD!! Wow, you are growing into quite the racehorse. Your mom, Wave the Colors, foster mom, Hope, and sisters, Private Promise and Wave Goodbye, are so very proud of you, as are Cindy and I. From orphan foal to multiple winner. Quite the Journey.
#GoldiesCanRun
UPDATE! Oh happy day. Baby Goldie and I left Cross Roads TX early this am and arrived safely
@SouthernLegacy
this pm.Joined with today’s arrival of Angelof Gettysburg’s baby. So many to thank.
@MistyKnox10
@SarahHorsegirl
and especially HOPE. From Goldie and me to all of you❤️
Today is a hard day for Texas Fancy Pants. We took Mom to a paddock far away. Mom seems to be handling weaning fine with several other new horses to bond with. Fancy Pants is really sad and confused but has a paddock mate to help him cope. Hoping tomorrow is a bit better for him.
Big News. Saturday Update: Angelof Gettysburg and her 3 month old baby were released from the hospital this morning. So far no systemic infection and the pregnancy is still viable. Angel has lost a lot of weight and will need to get healthier for the pregnancy to continue. TY!🙏
