Bottled water is this century’s biggest global scam. South Korea has probably the safest tap water in the world - but everyone there drinks bottled water - the govt had to run campaigns to encourage people to drink tap water - with little success.

China silenced doctors who first raised the alarm on Covid19. India shuts down doctors who raise the alarm for lack of PPE. The difference - in China it is the government that initially suppressed truth , in India it is the people. Much worse. Brave women these are. #truthtopower

Many people in India - despite having govt tap water supply - either use RO filters or use bottled water. Please don’t do this. This is nothing but privilege. Use other types of filters (UV/filtration etc.) which dont waste that much water.

Friendly reminder : There is still a digital & documentation barrier to vaccination The distribution strategy for vaccination in India is inherently inequitable And the PM did not talk about fixing this at all.

Tear gas is banned in warfare as a chemical weapon yet governments continue to use it in civilian areas without due precaution. It is NEVER ever to be used in closed spaces unless the intention is to cause deliberate harm and fatality.

I cannot say that the education I received was definitely superior to any I could have had in India. I’m sure there are colleges in India that are better or worse than the training I received. But there is zero justification for the discrimination that foreign grads face in India

In many countries/places we will still need some filtration at the point of use - due to poor pipes & various reasons. But simple & cheap filters can serve the purpose. Tap water mostly does not need RO filters. Only if there is groundwater, it requires wasteful RO filtration.

It is not an easy choice or decision to make. It was not a smooth ride with several challenges through the years. You are young and you land in a country where you dont speak the language. I assume things are easier now as English penetration/fluency has increased globally.

The quiet deaths. We cannot imagine the quantum of underreporting of covid cases in India. No testing in rural areas; 20 - 60 deaths in villages. No chase for oxygen or hospital beds - since they know there is none. All graphs are a very poor approximation of reality.

Most NRIs refuse to drink RO water when visiting India. Please dont be like this. RO filters dont leave anything in the water - not even water 🤪. RO water at your India home is probably safer than your mineral bottle of doubtful origin.

Notice the framing. Instead of upfront saying he died of covid19. Emphasizing 'two' heart attacks whatever that means. & saying he 'tested positive' for covid19-not that he had covid19 This with a famous person. Now imagine how much under reporting of covid19 deaths is going on

Covid doesn't transmit by touch - don't need to cover entire body in plastic PPE Hope health systems update guidelines in line with latest evidence. Better, high-quality masks and better ventilation needs to be prioritised. Stop generating waste from plastic covers.
