@EHRC All debates of importance are polarised. What was more polarised than civil rights in the 1960s? Throwing up one's hands at a "polarised" "debate" between a minority and those trying to deny rights to that minority, is to side with those trying to deny rights to that minority.

@jk_rowling Those who argue about how statistics should be recorded, will naturally need to observe statistical principles. The UK Government observes a 2% margin of error to ensure robust conclusions to be drawn from statistics, and trans people at 0.5% are fewer than this margin of error.

I'm taking a holiday from Twitter for a while. I've argued for reason, compassion and empathy in discussions about sex and gender. That's opened me up to more hate, bile and even misogyny than I've experienced before. I'm sad and shocked. Humans can be so much better than this.
