This is a page from Venetus A, the first complete copy of The Iliad in Greek. It was composed by scribes in Constantinople in the 10th Century AD c.950. Each page comprises of the text of The Iliad plus marginal notes.
I wouldn't normally say this kind of thing but I'm glad that Lineker is being absolutely pilloried by people on here because he thoroughly deserves it.
I think it’s quite clear that certain groups have gone around supermarkets buying up toilet roll, hand soap and other necessities, have then gone back to their own establishments and then put them on sale at exorbitant prices. These people should face prosecution.
What is unfolding outside that school is a perfect exemplar of who holds the power in this country. Will the teaching unions defend their member? No. Will the school defend their employee? No. Will those congregating outside in large numbers be prosecuted via CV legislation? No.
It’s odd how everyone is losing it over allegations of historic sexual assault against a Tory MP but not against the mass “grooming” of young girls over a period of 20 years in many of our towns and cities.
Can you imagine the courage it would take not to kneel? And can you imagine the consequences for your career if you didn’t? This is not voluntary this is compelled action. And it is setting a very dangerous precedent. This will now be expected. This is the new normal.
I find it almost unbelievable that major retail outlets like Sainsbury’s and Argos are basically telling their customers that if they don’t agree with black lives matter then they don’t want their custom.
Biden will never escape the suspicion that he only got into the Oval Office because of malpractice. The stench of corruption will follow him everywhere. In my opinion.
I come from a left-wing background. My father was a socialist and a trade union man all his life. Both my parents were members of the Labour Party. Is the behaviour of the modern Left pushing me ever right? Or is the Left is just more extreme and I haven’t moved?
I think I’ve gone from kind of liking Johnny Mercer, to thinking him being ok, to being ambivalent about him, to being meh, to thinking he’s a bit of a tit, to not liking him that much, to thinking that he’s a total wanker in about 7 days.

audience member says a government review into racism isn’t enough and it is “time for reform”.
Boris Johnson’s comments this evening were a total disgrace. He has demeaned the office of Prime Minister and he should apologise for them immediately.
You’ve broken every single promise you have ever made. You have lied again and again and again. You have made a mockery of this country and bought your Party to it’s knees.
You wouldn’t know working class if it bit you on the arse. You use the working classes when it suits you but when they don’t do what you say you call them Nazis. You sneer at working people, you look down your middle-class noses at them, judge them and find them wanting.
Blair has not just been knighted; he has been made a Knight of the Garter by HMQ, the highest order of chivalry there is. And it is one of most exclusive clubs in the world limited to 24 members. Appointments are made solely at the discretion of the Queen.
Quite frankly, any Party standing at the next GE against open borders, Trans Ideology, the sexualisation of infants, the Alphabet People, Net Zero, Identity politics or critical theory of any description will get my vote.
I’ve just spent 15 minutes in my local Tesco express without a mask and I have never felt such a stranger in my own country. It’s like whole swathes of the British public have just rolled over and died.
In 1861 the Royal Navy blockaded Lagos and deposed the ruler there who refused to give up the Slave Trade. Over a period of 60 years Britain freed c.160,000 slaves and prevented c.100,000 being sold into slavery.
So, by declaring that prorogation is justiciable the SC has:
1. Torn up 350 years of British constitutional law.
2. Politicised the entire British judicial establishment for remain.
3. Legitimised the actions of people like Gina Miller, thus proving that money trumps the vote.
The efficacy of the cloth mask 😷 is one of the great lies of our age. It has no medical value. Governments love the mask because it is a symbol of uniformity and submission.

The collapse of Andrew Neil into a snivelling, bitter old reactionary has been one of the most notable events of the age of Covid.
118 candles in the Oran Chapel, Iona Abbey: names of the women killed by men were read out, prayers said for their families & dearest ones who love them & miss them, for education, for perpetrators, for action against violence

Just think: Labour’s Women’s Officer is a 19 year old boy who lectures women on what it is like to be a woman. Think about it but don’t think about it too long otherwise you will go round the twist.
Team GB sprinter Bianca Williams has called on the Metropolitan Police "not to just always target the black people" after she and her partner were stopped and searched
turns out most politicians are basically normal people who have all dabbled in less than legal substances.
the real question is who’s the dweeby leadership candidate who has never tried anything fun going to be?

It’s really strange. He’s spent years building up a modicum of goodwill since his Mirror days and in an instant has flushed it all down the toilet.

These reductio ad absurdum arguments are the arguments of choice among the hard of thinking like Schofield. Remember Newman Vs Peterson?
Be under no illusions: BLM is a hard Left Marxist organisation and so to excuse its behaviour by saying it has been infiltrated by the hard Left is both delusional and specious.
Apparently standing in front of a church holding a Bible now qualifies you as a fascist. But burning down people’s homes, torching and looting their businesses and beating up people on the street who disagree with you doesn’t.

I think the United Kingdom has been labouring under a false premise, that the EU was interested in negotiating an amicable withdrawal. They are not and never have been.

And yet they don’t bat an eyelid to a bunch of green haired Yahoos mincing down Oxford Street playing the panpipes having a collective nervous breakdown over the weather.
Apparently this storm Darcy is “a once in a decade” event. We had pretty heavy snow around here last year and the year before that. Why does everyone deal in hyperbole these days? Even the seasons have to be politicised!

In actual fact that is exactly what freedom of speech means you ignoramus. You are an MP and yet you have no idea what the concept of democracy means. You are a lawmaker, yet you don’t know what that means. There is no right not to be offended.
The current Vice Chancellor of the University of Cambridge, Stephen Toop, is on a salary of £431k per annum. He specialises in Human Rights Law and loves the UN.

We sorely need a Dave Allen in this day and age, because no one could poke fun at sacred cows like him. No one could reveal the inanities and pretences of life and burst the bubbles of the self righteous like Dave Allen. Humour is a great safety valve.
If there is a second spike of Coronavirus cases, then the Government will be responsible for that loss of life. Its push to ease lockdown is dangerous and reckless.
Way way back in March (who remembers March?) I was firmly of the view that lockdown was the only way to deal with this. Two things I’ve changed my mind: 1, Neil Ferguson and 2, Sweden.

So, apart from wringing your hands & virtue signalling massively over something you’ve got no control over what do you propose? Destroying those artefacts & buildings that you feel are associated with the Atlantic slave trade? Or making a huge donation to BLM? Take your time.
People are saying that this fuss over the Last Night is a storm in a teacup. I disagree. This is the BBC using the figleaf of BLM to fundamentally alter a national institution which they hate and which they have been seeking for years to change.
To those who voted for Brexit and say they have been “betrayed” - you were promised “sunlit uplands” and “easiest trade deals” and “have cake and eat it.” These were false promises - from those who sold us Brexit. They misled us all once. No more.

The Trans Mafia losing their shit yet again over J K Rowling is hilarious. Never before in history have 0.005% of our species offered up such great entertainment value.
So, Bonnie Greer met Lawrence Fox at the British Museum over a coffee and now Bonnie is being savaged by the regressive Left? I hope that’s an object lesson for them both.

I suspect it’s not Muslims who are offended but the Labour Councillor who proposed the motion and the council were too craven to oppose it. And for the life of me I cannot think why the flag of St George should be considered offensive to Muslims but the LGBT flag isn’t.
And you are more righteous how? From the moment you endorsed the police kneeling in submission before BLM, you lost what little moral authority you possessed. So you yourself have endorsed surrender and thus you have no basis on which to accuse someone else.
This weekend, the Mayor surrendered in the face of the mob.

If you want an example of sheer naked racism in full view today in this country look no further than that letter sent by Labour MPs to Priti Patel. It drips contempt and venom from every word. Those MPs think they can hide behind their own race. Not any more.
