Let’s be clear. The forced sterilization of women in ICE detention are part of a long history of policies and programs inflicting violence and harm upon on our families and our bodies to control who gets to have children and who gets to make decisions about their reproduction.

As we wait for a verdict, let’s be clear: (1) a carceral system will never truly bring justice to our communities. (2) We must rebuild the whole damn thing to center human rights. (3) Real justice would mean George Floyd could be home tonight with his fiancee & his daughter.

Do you think we will have lots of time after the #SCOTUS decision to figure out how to make sure people can get abortions? Nope! Not if you live in AR, ID, KY, LA, MS, MO, ND, OK, SD, TN, TX, UT & WY. And to state the obvious, we should give a damn even if we don’t live there!

Our hearts go out to Chrissy Teigen and John Legend on the loss of their child. We applaud their bravery and vulnerability in sharing a story that is tragically familiar to the many of us who have experienced pregnancy loss. We wish them love and support!

As we await a possible #SCOTUS decision on a case concerning abortion access, let us affirm that EVERY person should have the power & resources to care for their body, affirm their identity & provide for themselves and their families with dignity and equality! #MyRightMyDecision

ALL abortion bans are extreme. ⏳ It’s time for the U.S. Senate to protect abortion access and pass the Women’s Health Protection Act. #ActforAbortionAccess !

25 yrs ago a group of Black women gathered to discuss unique needs of women of color and poor women that weren’t addressed in women’s rights movement. They publicized full-page ads on 8/16/94 in @washingtonpost and Roll Call. This was the start of the #ReproJustice movement.

Not only did she suffer the trauma of finding out her fetus was not compatible with life, Ms. Watts was left to struggle even after seeking professional care and now faces the consequences of a hospital’s delay under state restrictions, instead of healing from her miscarriage.
