This is the most emphatic, most unequivocal and most unapologetic condemnation of xenophobia that I have ever heard a South African politician give. Julius Malema has refreshingly evolved into a leading pan Africanist.

When @DrObertMpofu invaded our farm #Esidakeni and chased us out and installed armed guards we had just started to harvest our 800tonnes of onion; 200tonnes of butternut with 75000 cabbages almost ready to harvest. He took it all. Everything!

26 years ago today, my father died; suddenly, unexpectedly. It was a Sunday & I had last spoken to him from Harare on the phone the day before on Saturday evening. A rare thing because we hardly spoke on the phone, ever. He had asked me to come & see him at Parliament on Tuesday.

African leaders must know that there's no difference between an outright military coup & their calculated efforts to subvert democracy incl stealing elections, stifling political competition & dissent, unconstitutional elongation of presidential terms & abuse of citizen's rights.

The change I yearn for in Zimbabwe is not the mere replacement of ZanuPF by CCC or any other party. It is the reconfiguration of power from political elites to the people. The recognition of women, young people, ethnic minorities & others as equal & fixing of historical injustices.

It's hypocritical to criticize Mnangagwa whilst celebrating Mugabe.Mugabe was Mnangagwa's boss for 50 years. ED hs only been President for 2.5 yrs.Yes, he's made a mess of it but please don't "whitewash" Mugabe to blacken ED more.He was Mugabe's henchman & they're both very bad.

That an individual affiliated to the ruling political party & the CIO can with impunity mobilise to grab a citizen- @daddyhope 's private property is the clearest evidence that rule of law is nonexistent in Zimbabwe. Once critics are targeted it is undoubtedly persecution.A crime!

They'll tell you the election's a done deal. Already won by their candidate & lost by yours. That you shd not bother registering to vote. That it's pointless. But if they've won why are they still doing all these things? Even when rigged, it's never a done deal. Register & Vote!

The continued unjust inceration of Job Sikhala is beyond unjust. It is criminal. He must be unconditionally released immediately. One day soon, each and every one of those responsible will account and face justice. We must and will spare no effort for that to happen.

My twitter rules: I try to follow back everyone who follows me! If you are interested in me I want to be interested in you too. But if you are then rude, disrespectful, hateful & abusive to me OR others, I disengage & block you. You can't be civil to me only & abusive to others.

I just turned 52. Many people ask me to join politics😳.I consider myself too old for that. My father, a celebrated politician died at 54 after +34 yrs in politics-much of it in jails. Our political fortunes lie in young people. My generational mandate is to support young people.

If Zanu PF could order a "National Day of Fasting" during COVID-19, the people can have their "National Day of Protest" on #31July . No to double standards. Don't let the lockdown stop you from exercising your rights. Protest in whatever way you can respecting COVID regulations.

Power corrupts & absolute power corrupts absolutely. In my 50 years I've watched people gain power & watched it transform their character into something unrecognisably ugly.I've seen the same people later lose power, consumed with regret, shame, guilt & fear of those they abused.

🇿🇼 Zimbabwe: African Observers (SADC & AU) & other international observers agree that the 2023 elections were neither free nor fair & not credible & transparent. The outcome is not a true reflection of the will of the people. We need new, supervised, proper free & fair elections.

Soldiers brought in to implement govt confiscation of private citizens' grain. What makes a govt official believe this is right? If I used MY seed, MY fertilizer, MY water, MY pesticides, MY labour & MY money why wld you feel entitled to MY produce. Zimbabwe is going to starve.

The insult that we're puppets of the West, instruments of imperialism& unpatriotic is empty.I personally was radicalized by ZanuPF at age10.The many times armed, they kicked down our door at night, tore our house up& took my father away, I knew back then these were very bad pple.

#31July has succeeded already! The levels of fear & panic by Zanu PF tell me that there's nothing left of this regime. The day they truly face pple power, they'll be gone. The soldiers will have to make their own choice to kill for a thieving elite of take the side of the people.

I hope that today Judge Tawanda Chitapi does the right thing & releases Hopewell &Jacob. Some trivia:Tawanda as we called him in our 1st yr of law school was my tutor back in 1991 & one of the sharpest lawyers I ever came across. So his understanding of the law is not debatable.

There is a misplaced belief that certain people from the government security services in Zimbabwe and Zanu PF will and can never ever be held accountable for atrocities committed by them. It's a misplaced belief!!! That's the tweet!
