Es gibt keine biologischen Menschenrassen. Der Diskurs in Großbritannien und den USA ist diesbezüglich ziemlich eindeutig. Es macht etwa genauso viel Sinn, Menschen nach der Größe ihrer Ohren zu unterscheiden, als nach der Farbe ihrer Haut. 11/20

Eine Person wird rassistisch diskriminiert, weil es Rassismus gibt. In Bezug auf den Menschen wird "race" im englischsprachigen Raum fast* überall als soziales Konstrukt verstanden. 9/20

Eine soziale Konstrukt (race) mit einer körperlichen Eigenschaft (Hautfarbe) gleich zu setzen ist falsch. Wir urteilen dann über die Körper Schwarzer Menschen und lassen die Institutionen, die Strukturen und die Menschen, die sich rassistisch verhalten, außen vor. 12/20

This semester I’m teaching a grad seminar called Introduction to Black German Studies. It feels good to walk into the campus bookstore and see all of these books by Black German authors for sale. Because part of activism is making sure people get paid.

A friend of mine wrote on Facebook: "It's saddening to see that no German news outlet is reporting that such an important figure of German history such as Theodor Wonja Michael has passed away... I hope the day will teach me otherwise." It's true. And it hurts.
