Looking forward to heading downtown sometime soon to see it in person. It’s definitely a thought provoking, massive piece. Good addition to the Common and Boston in general.

Trooper Bucci will be remembered for how she lived, and how she chose the same profession I did, to dedicate herself to the public and helping others. There is no greater love… RIP. My thoughts to those laying this hero to rest this week.
Long night for my coworkers, but I am relieved to hear the officer will be okay who was injured. My thoughts w/ him & those who had his back tonight, as well as their families worried at home. Area B is a family 💪🏻

Always a humbling reminder to see at our Academy, may they RIP. We honor their memories by surviving and being the best public servants & citizens possible. 💙
Another day & another act of violence against my coworkers. Please keep them & their families in your thoughts. It’s been a tough week for the BPD & city.

If West Roxbury doesn’t want a road diet, I’m more than happy to take it on Hyde Park Ave 🙋🏻♀️ Forest Hills to American Legion is one of my least favorite stretches of road. FYI this useless thing has been covered in graffiti so long, reported to 311…nothing. -fed up Rozzie res
Police details are essential to keep officers in our neighborhoods. They’re extra eyes and ears on the street. They are a deterrent factor. We are understaffed. I see firsthand detail officers catch criminals after shootings, stabbings, hit and runs, etc.

We will support our restaurants 😊 If folks are hesitant or don’t have a card they can always get takeout! That helps support local establishments, which many have done the past 2 years. Always support local business 👍🏻
I appreciate everyone who has chosen this as a career and stood in the face of criticism & adversity to continue to do the right thing. I appreciate your sacrificed time away from family, your courage in times of danger & your commitment to community and meaningful change.
Grateful our officer will be OK. Proud of the response by his fellow officers, my detectives, and all the outside resources who helped. It was a long night, I appreciate them all for getting the job done.
I hope all veterans enjoyed their day. A small token of a grateful nation’s appreciation for your service. Your sacrifices are not forgotten, nor those of your families. Thank you!
Thank you for highlighting these tragedies. All gone way too soon. Like other stressful professions, our bodies & minds are under pressure they weren’t designed to handle. The job itself, admin, public, PTSD, our families, shift work, lack of sleep, etc. May they all RIP! 💙
I was struggling to fill my tires in the freezing cold and asked this Sergeant for help. He literally drove across the street and took over. Thank you!!!!!
@bostonpolice
I definitely have to pay it forward.
@choll12
I know this was jest at the list, but re: his actual presentation I HOPE he’s not actually warning against any whole neighborhood. Please just advise on good tips for being safe anywhere. You can go anywhere in Boston. But anywhere you go you should be smart.
@GoodNewsCorres1
Selfless decent human being right there!! And wow fast, and on snow, im glad he didn’t get hurt. I had to run to a car once driver had a seizure but luckily for me she had slowed way down & door was open. GOOD JOB SIR!
@WPBradley
He isn’t the first person charged and/or convicted for murder without a victim’s body. If there is enough enough to persuade a jury he committed a murder, no reason to believe they couldn’t find him guilty. Difficult but not impossible.
I hope our Mayor noted how small and outdated our Academy is. We need a new, modern, large complex so we aren’t forced to move training to outside locations or further strain our Academy hardworking staff. We also need continuous & larger academy classes asap.

Anti-police sentiment deprives BPD &

residents valuable crime-solving resources yet again. It’s 2023, we NEED cameras, analysts, and crime databases (just some of what they do) to keep up with tech/crime trends. When residents ask why their crimes are unsolved…

I’d rather have better local transit. People in Boston should be able to get to work in Boston or from immediate suburbs faster, more reliably, and safer.

Had a good first week in my new role. So much to learn about the job itself, as well as managing people, managing expectations, and trying to find out what kind of leader I can be. Change is scary but fun! Have a nice weekend 😃
If you want to know about policing, ask a police officer. Ask a few. Do not just rely on the news. Definitely do not rely on social media. Ask how you can be a part of any solutions.
Just found out one of our former dispatchers passed away. She was one of my faves and was missed when she left. I hope she’s at peace now. It’s a never ending struggle for so many in this field no matter what their role. 💙 RIP

I merely said her act was a felony. I didn’t comment on anything else so please don’t put words in my mouth. You said citizens streets are only for felonies, you’re correct. And malicious destruction is a felony.
Back home, my thoughts are immediately with the family of the little one who lost her life in Lowell. Reminds me of the boy recently lost at Castle Island. Such senseless tragedy. My heart breaks for her family. Sorry to 1st responders & neighbors who searched.

We aren’t perfect and probably never will be, but I believe this country stands for something important. It’s incumbent upon all of us to be the best version of ourselves, so collectively we can make this the greatest nation possible. Happy birthday America!! 🇺🇸🎆
The thoughts and prayers of our members are with the men and women of

and the family of Officers involved. The loss of life in the line of duty should never be taken lightly and the sacrifice of the officers involved will never be forgotten.
I am so thankful for my opportunities. I remind myself of this often. It’s the little things. We didn’t have a ton of money growing up, but we had common sense, a strong work ethic, education, I was surrounded by decent human beings, and love, not hate.
This morning we and
@BPSOF
are cooking for the roughly 1,500 law enforcement personnel that will be out and about during the festivities this weekend including the Caribbean Festival and other gatherings. From all of us here at the BPDBS we look forward to a fun and safe weekend.
Studies show female officers use less force/get less complaints, correlate to increased community policing, and can have a more positive impact on certain victim populations (sexual assault victims for instance). The time to recruit women is YESTERDAY.

Just want to shoutout my little sister. I’m very proud of her. ☺️ Between being an awesome mom & taking a chance on a new career, and crushing it, she is a rockstar. She doesn’t have Twitter but if you see someone who looks like me, drinking iced coffee & being sassy…well…
@scooperon7
Disgusting that this is happening during the day in front of people and she thinks it’s ok because she’s 17. Hopefully BPD caught up to her after. I loathe these amateur ugly tags all over my neighborhood too. We care about how our area looks, leave it alone.
Whether you’ll be working, at home, traveling afar, alone, with a close friend, or a large family, if you’ll be celebrating how thankful you are tomorrow, I’d like to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving.
@CommissBratton
Some of these kids just don’t value their lives or see any potential for themselves. It’s sad really. Great job NYPD & continued hopes for your detectives recovery 🙏🏻 Hopefully the court system holds him accountable!

Why do you assume cyclists aren’t residents or have families? Most of the avid cyclists I know who commute are in fact both. I enjoy cycling and if I had a different job would opt to cycle over drive a lot more. I am a resident.

Apparently everyone skipped the “for the summer”, implying they’d be removed after summer. The public garden isn’t maintained by people who don’t know what they’re doing. It’s cool and different and fun to enjoy for a few months! Lots of folks have palms and put them out now.
