Wow, Bayonetta 3 got a patch update that makes some substantial fixes to the combat as well as fixing bugs and glitches. Viola got some major improvements, charging weapons while dodge offsetting works now, etc.

As someone who only looks at the tiniest details when it comes Bayonetta combat, I should point out that bullets ricocheting off walls is coming back in Bayonetta 3. This was originally in Bayonetta 1 but was removed in Bayonetta 2.

@Burn_my_Bread I've dealt with lots of folks on Bayonetta/DMC forums enough to know many of them DON'T play action games outside the Souls series. And those that try to play action games end up confused because they're under the impression that Dark Souls is so hard they can conquer any game.

If ever there was a game that showcases the merciless fate of the Monkey's Paw. Improved gameplay but terrible replay value. Heavier focus on story but it's bland & awful. New playable character but leaves a lot to be desired. Detailed, "realistic" visuals but it's on Switch.

So, I finished Bayonetta 3. Let me try and sum up my thoughts: Gameplay is solid. Better than 2 and almost, ALMOST better than 1 by virtue of how super creative the weapons/slaves are and that enemies behave so much better. If only momentum, JC and framerate were better.

Another #Bayonetta3 QoL improvement. Verse results screens now display how many verses there are in a chapter in the form of these empty coin slots. Complete a verse and the medal you earn gets fitted into the slot, so now you'll know if you skipped a verse during gameplay.

A lot of people seem to be doubting the journalists claiming that you can no longer equip weapons to separate appendages (hands and feet) in Bayonetta 3. This is in fact true. Each slot holds only one whole weapon, for a max of 2 slots. This may sound bad, but hear me out!

It's rarely acknowledged how much of Bayonetta's personality is attributed to Maiko's unique movement. Her dancing is so unparalleled that when we see it unfold live on camera, we don't see Maiko, we see Bayonetta. And that alone is very impressive.

The Bayonetta franchise was never really one designed to be a big seller, and the push for sequels were mainly PlatinumGames' own responsibility. The reason Bayo3 even exists was because Kamiya proposed it to Nintendo after the failure of Scalebound. The series will be fine.

Two things I noticed about the new Bayonetta 3 results screen. 1) You can now update your ranks individually, just like Astral Chain. No more having to do Pure Plat runs in one go. 2) The UI now properly displays how many verses the chapter has.

Really hoping Bayonetta 3's soundtrack goes as hard as DMC5's. Not saying Bayo's music is bad but goddamn the attention to detail put into DMC5's music is astounding. The tunes dynamically changing based on your performance is a fantastic way to encourage players to do better.
