One last thread on Ole:
If your analysis of Ole's tenure ignores the work he's done off the field for the club's long term health, then you've fundamentally misunderstood his role.
He was DoF, TD & manager combined and now he leaves with a DoF & TD in place - all in 3 years. ⤵️
There are 2 rules all clubs should follow in transfers:
1. Never buy older players if Real or Bayern are the ones selling
2. Never sell youngsters if Dortmund, Benfica or Ajax are the ones buying
🚨 BREAKING: Borussia Dortmund are lining up a significant bid to sign Manchester United’s Dan Gore!
Dortmund hold a long-term interest in Gore and are prepared to enquire about his availability in January.

Ole's appointment will be remembered as a pivotal moment in
#mufc
history. His meticulously curated culture of playing for the badge saw the players he's defended through thick & thin coming out to defend him & our club yesterday.
The cultural reset he promised, he's delivered.
Saka crying breaks my heart man. He's 19, a kid. Most his age are just figuring out what college is. And here is stepping up to take probably most important pen for his country in 50 years.
He's already achieved more than most & there's still so much to come. So so proud of him.
This is a 23 year old who spent the better part of a year taking on the govt & feeding hundreds of thousands of kids during the single biggest global catastrophe of our lifetime.
He deserves to be celebrated, not abused. He's a hero, our hero. We're proud of you
@MarcusRashford
.
Mason lost a close friend to suicide & then the British press hounded him for being a black teenager. Ole took him out of the team, gave him family time & now he's back with 5 goals in 6 games.
The way Ole handled his crisis & many others is why this team always fights for him.
Thread:
The sheer pace at which Ole has lifted
#mufc
from the rut to contention means many see the job he did as easy. He has steered a top to bottom revamp under constant scrutiny with 0 room for error.
Most managers fail if the situation isn't ideal. Ole's the opposite ⤵️
Maguire goal - Shaw assist
Bruno goal - Sancho assist
Fred goal - Sancho assist
Elanga goal - Bruno assist
Every single player there is a player this fanbase is running an agenda against. Poetic.
There's probably one player in the whole of United now who will run through brick walls for every manager no matter what and unfortunately he's also the one this fanbase wants out first.
Rashford sacrificed a hat-trick chance to hand the penalty to Martial vs Leipzig & now has Bruno sacrificed a hat-trick chance to hand the penalty to Rashford.
This is hands down the most likeable team we've had since SAF — Ole has truly built a family.
Under Ole
#mufc
have revamped:
• academy
• analytics
• style of play
• youth policy
• team mentality
• wage structure
• sports science
• squad dynamics
• fitness & endurance
• recruitment structure
& now the set-piece dept
The rebuild we deserve, Ole is delivering. 🥂
I've said it many times before and I'll say it many times again, Ole Gunnar Solskjær is the best thing that has happened to Manchester United post SAF.
Hope you all have a great night! 🥂

Ole has taken us from 33 points off City to 12 after a window where all he got back a backup 10, a backup LB & a 33 year old striker who hadn't played football for 7 months.
The way Ole improves players & maximises resources isn't talked about enough.
Let him cook

Ole Gunnar Solskjær, 19th January 2020:
"Potentially we have the best left-back in England. Luke has the potential to be the best one."
The rest, as they say, is history. 🥂
Ole Gunnar Solskjær took over as caretaker manager just 2 years and 37 days ago. The sheer scale of the job he took on made it one of, if not, the toughest job in football.
From where this team was to where he's taken them in such a short time is nothing short of incredible.
Gentle reminder that
#mufc
are playing basically the same XI as last season while everyone around us improved their first XI & just 4 draws are what seperates us & City. Yet some still don't see progress.
Ole is doing a madness — you just don't want to accept you were wrong.
Lamela got Martial sent off but the pundits never cared about it. It was all about how ruthless Spurs & Mou were. But when we put 9 past Sou, suddenly they only talk about the red.
Even the fleeting thought that United & Ole did well scares the living hell out of them — as per.
The best thing Ole has done is to remind us that being 2nd is by no means an achievement. When the season started no one would have expected us to be where we are now but we're still disappointed. That's the progress he promised & is delivering.
Love this man.
#MyManager
McTominay is Erik's biggest conundrum right now. He's at his best in his current role of a box crashing advanced 8. But that leaves a gaping hole in midfield that no sole midfielder can cover. Combine that with the high press & we're easy to slice through. There's no easy fix.
McTominay was massive the whole game. Guarded that entire midfield on his own the first half and brought in some much needed physicality through it all.
He's been one of our most consistent performers under Ralf but this fanbase would willfully ignore it because agenda.
Harry Maguire scored an incredible header from an exceptionally tight angle in a high pressure game with horribly biased officiating. The scoresheet won't remember it, so it's up to us to make sure it isn't forgotten.
A big performance in a big game from our big man.
#MyCaptain
Ole taking a disjointed squad that didn't even want to be here and turning it into one of the most exciting ones in the league in just 2.5 years isn't talked about enough.
A Rebuild Masterclass from Ole Gunnar Solskjær!
Carrick had to take us to Villareal two days after he took over, then had league leaders Chelsea away & in form Arsenal at home. 3 games - 2 wins, 1 draw.
He's done a superb job & set it up nicely for Ralf to take over with a relatively easy run now until March. He can be proud.
Ole took off Ronaldo for Rashford & Bruno for Matic. And now Matic has assisted Rashford. Goal and assist from subs. Once again Ole's subs turning out to be brilliant.
There's so many myths about the man. Most are untrue. His subs not being effective is one of the worst.
Daniel James now has 4 goals this season from 615 mins. That's as many as Mason Greenwood and Paul Pogba both of whom have played more than 3 times as many minutes as him.
Dan is playing his part well & deserves a lot of praise for it.
Wait, you want Ole out bc he drew a game that too against a side that recently beat City & drew with Chelsea and Liverpool? You lot do realise we've won the last 5 games right?
#mufc
have lost just 3 of their last 35 games, no wonder these lot now have to run agenda for a draw.
Lukaku & Shaw had dietary issues that needed identifying. But Jose dismantled our sports science dept to add more massage bays. He judged fitness on an eye test & blamed players for being unfit instead of looking into why & how to help them.
Insane just how far Jose set us back.
Before the season if you said
- Martial/Marcus/Mason will score 60+
- Pogba will be happy to stay
- Fred & McT will be vital
- Matic will be our rock
- AWB will be a wall
- Shaw will be back to his best
- & THIRD!
I wouldn't have believed you! Lets not forget what Ole has done.
#mufc
have scored 5+ EIGHT times under Ole Gunnar Solskjær. The 3 managers before him combined did it twice. Mind you, he's been our manager for just 2 years and 46 days.
Ole has us playing the United way & the best part — they're just getting started.
McTominay fought teeth and nail to win that ball, dogged his way through two players to go on that run, set up Bruno with a superb pass and that lead to the goal.
He's been unbelievable today and has been one of the stand out performers this season. Proper proper player.
Taking a team that got top 4 just twice in 6 years to back to back top 3 finishes while adding just four first team faces in four windows — any other manager would be celebrated.
Ole Gunnar Solskjær is doing a madness & the best part — his young squad is just getting started. 🥂
AS Roma are interested in Alex Telles as their potential new left-back. Roma want him on loan to replace Spinazzola, Manchester United have no intention of loaning him atm. The deal is considered ‘complicated’ as of today - Roma will try in the next days.

Rashford playing with a broken leg and broken shoulder has 20 goals and 13 assists in just 42 90s but pundits on twitter think he isn't good enough because of some dots on a graph. You can't make this up.
Rashford has been the Swiss army knife of our attack. Played up front when Martial got injured & is now wide right to accommodate Pogba.
He's played left, right & center with no time to settle in any position, all with a broken leg and shoulder.
20 goals & 13 assists — INSANE.
Spurs beat this same West Brom off a keeper error from an 88th min Kane header & media/pundits labelled it as a winning team digging deep to snatch a win
United created chance after chance & dominated but somehow it's shambolic
Hilarious how agenda driven the narrative is
Only 5 teams have lost fewer games than Derby this season. We talk about 21 point deduction & how he can only sign free agents but what really amazes me is that it's his first ever job. He's been managing for just over a year.
Most veterans would find what he's doing impossible.
The ones who say trophies are all they care about don't really care about United btw. They don't want the club to be healthy, they just want to brag. They're not here for the experience but for the bragging rights.
They aren't fans, they're glory hunters.
Dan James set the culture for our rebuild. Young, hard working professional who gave his all. He faced a lot of undeserved abuse but now he's leaving as a round one backup buy who's doubled his fee by round 3, an instant success story that.
Here's wishing him a great career. 🥂
He gave us our club back while overseeing the biggest rebuild in recent memory. He showed that humility & dignity are still alive in today's modern game although it was seldom welcomed.
Thank you Ole for the best 2 years I've had post SAF. I wish you the best in life & sport. ❤️
Marcus Rashford got 34 goal contributions in 46 90s last season while playing left, right & center & carrying a shoulder, ankle & back injury.
You lot know abused him & ran agendas don't know what you're in for. If Luke Shaw surprised you, wait till you see a fully fit Rashy.
“If you want to play at this club, it has to mean more. I want my team to be the hardest working team in this league. I’m going to be successful here, and there are players here that won’t be part of that successful team.”
— Ole Gunnar Solskjær
Solskjaer: "This is not about me, it's about the group improving."
Takes all the blame when things go wrong and none of thr credit when it's goes well - the Ole way.
Pogba incident
Maguire incident
AWB incident
Mason incident
One top of the on field battles, Ole has had to fight so many internal battles this season, the kind the managers before him didn't know how to. Now all of them are firing & improving.
Ole is doing an absolute madness.
The progress isn't just results, it's undoing the wrongs Jose did like neglecting our academy, ruining our wage structure, dismantling our sports science dept, making us the most unfit squad in the league & filling us up with unsaleable assets who didn't want to be here.
🗣️ Jose Mourinho: "People were saying 'Great season, finished 2nd', I did finish 2nd [but] it was a 'bad season'. [This season
#mufc
] finish 2nd, runner-up in the Europa League. Progress." [Sun]
👇 Watch Jose's evaluation:
Gotta give it up to Bruno man. He's not scored in like 10 games, his longest run here, he's clear on goal & chooses to setup Ronaldo instead.
On top of his incredible vision & reading of the game it shows his most important asset - selflessness. A proper team player right there.
• No DM
• No right winger
• No pre-season
And yet
#mufc
are 2nd on the table with as many points as the leaders to start the new year with.
Ole Gunnar Solksjaer. 🥂
Only 5/58 goals
#mufc
have scored this season in the league are from counter attacks. Meanwhile we've scored 36 goals from open play — 2nd most in the league only behind City. [
@WhoScored

Not bad for a team that can only counter.
What Jose left Ole
- an aged, bloated, overpaid squad with gaping holes
- the most unfit squad in PL
- no pipeline for youth to 1st team
- a squad that didn't get along or care for the badge
All it took Ole was 1 season to change all this.
Instead of berating him, thank him!
Yet another XI that the fanbase had a meltdown over, yet another game we've won. Maybe just let the manager do his job and let us do our job of backing the XI instead of pretending to be smarter than the man himself — food for thought.
You know what was the most special under Ole?
Every setback HURT. Even the tiny ones.
We'd draw a game & it'd feel like the end of the world.
Setbacks now don't hurt like it used to under him. And that's the biggest compliment any ex manager can ever get.
He made us care. ❤️
A club legend, but more importantly, a decent man was mocked to no end & hounded out by the same lot who are now crying out loud for the same thing he preached.
You reap what you sow seems an understatement here. You lot earned this, better enjoy it then.
When Ole took over, due to the Alexis debacle we had no leverage in the market & clubs were bullying us. Ole had to bite the bullet & get Harry + AWB for 130m. But now we've signed Bruno + Sancho + Varane for £160m.
It took 2.5 years but we've gotten our lost leverage back now.
