Quick writing tip: I just caught myself writing a double negative. It's a bad habit. I wrote, "She wasn't unaware." Changed it to, "She was fully aware." Double negatives are clunky and cause readers to stumble.

My friend's husband got rejected from hip surgery by his insurer because "it wasn't medically necessary" for a 30-year-old. Yet he's in chronic pain. It's a bit preposterous to think someone wants hip surgery for fun or cosmetic reasons. Insurance in the US is so fucked.

One of my favorite parts of writing is writing a sentence that you like. But then coming back and rewriting it to be much, much better. Don't write in one session then smash publish. Come back to it. Rewriting is extremely important.
