This is legitimately one of the sexiest goals I’ve ever seen. Beautiful build up out of the back. Quick, one-touch passing, creative runs, incredible last pass to Press. Officials wrongly called offside. (It wasn’t even close.)

The south side's Lopez Bakery -- one of the best in all of Milwaukee -- is all in on the Bucks. And as you can imagine, they're really rooting for

Brook LOPEZ. Love this photo.
So many people pass by this exhibit by the Milwaukee Public Museum’s bathrooms and don’t realize it’s one of the most important pieces of not just this museum, but natural history institutions across the world.
You've never heard a band combine genres like this. What do you get when you combine an accordion, drums, bass, and three MCs? Polka Hip-Hop.
November Criminals is a local polka hip-hop band & is hosting the 7th Milwaukee Polka Riot festival this weekend.
I also hop on the mic.
Happy Juneteenth. Here’s The Library of frickin’ Congress handing Milwaukee born and raised musicians SistaStrings with some Stradivarius instruments to play “Lift Every Voice and Sing.” Milwaukee rules, perpetually.
Here’s a side-by-side comparison video showing that Edgecomb defense attorney basically copied verbatim Johnnie Cochran’s opening in the defense of O.J. Simpson. Imitation is the greatest flattery, they say. 1/3
Love my neighbor Jose. He’s off on Tuesdays. If the sun is shining, then I can count on him sitting in his backyard, drinking Coors and shaking his maracas to Santana. God bless him.
@MilwaukeeAndy
That diorama was built by the legend Carl Akeley in 1889. While working at the MPM, he created the first habitat diorama. That's what this is. THE FIRST.
Milwaukee PSA: The most popular avocado here in the U.S., the Haas, was created by horticulturist Rudolph Hass, who was born in Milwaukee and lived in the city until he was about 30.
Wisconsin lawmakers are holding a public hearing today on a bill that would make Colby the official state 🧀 .
Similar efforts in 2019 and 1997 failed.
The cheese was invented near Colby, Wisconsin in 1885 and named after the city.
Milwaukee, greatest city in America. Hippies out here showing youngens how to blow giant bubbles after the Grateful Dead cover band show at the Polish Falcon, one block away from where my great, great grandparents first settled after immigrating here. God bless America.
Are you familiar w/ the Gay Purge at UW-Madison during the early '60s? Homosexual men were hunted, harassed and expelled by school admins, who went as far as compiling a list of gay men on campus by employing Red Scare tactics. In a way, it sort of starts with this photo. 🧵
Some LA friends visited me in Milwaukee last weekend. We went to Nomad to watch some soccer and I gotta say, Brady Street was beautifully bumping. The energy of a beautiful summer night, every type of person hanging out. It was wonderful. And it left a big impression w/ my guests
It’s cool that when I think of Bud now my first image is of him shotgunning beers and giving mischievous looks during the title parade rather than…well, whatever those faces are he normally makes during games.

Interviewed Deb Dassow, chair of the Ozaukee County Dems, about purpling of MKE suburbs. She says Ozaukee Co recently saw the biggest increase in Dem voters in Wis, though it still was red. Biden won Cedarburg by 19 votes. The Burg hadn’t voted for a Dem for president since 1936.
Went on a three hour hike along the Milwaukee River Greenway and saw a bunch of new graffiti pieces, including new stuff by Jerome. Anyone know about Jerome? Love their work so much.
Remembering when Steve Novak insisted the Whitefish Bay library take down a sign that read "Whitefish Bay will be a welcoming community that recognizes systemic racism, and actively works to address and dismantle it..."
Got to talking to a guy at Lake Park. New to MKE. I told him some things about the park: designed by Olmsted, waterfall a WPA project, effigy mound. He says he’s a prophet. Says a portal to a higher dimension is coming to MKE in 2025 which is way cooler than next summer’s RNC.
This month we're celebrating the 35th anniversary of our Rainforest exhibit, which opened to the public in November 1988! The concept was inspired by our then-Curator of Invertebrate Zoology's field work in the Costa Rican jungle. Be sure to visit and enjoy this amazing exhibit!
Things I love about this: 1) immediately follows Lloyd goal 2) O’Hara’s deke for better angle to pass upfield 3) Tobin’s wide turn towards sideline and to goal 4) Rose (Wisconsin!) not afraid to get stuck in 5) perfect weighted ball from Tobin outside boot 6)Press calm around net
Holy schnikes. People came to the historic Oriental Theatre to watch a documentary I coproduced and they were even nice enough to clap at the end. I have peaked.
Robert Spindell is a member of the Wisconsin Elections Commission and one of the 10 Republican fake electors who schemed to overturn the 2020 election.
@BrianCreegan88
I didn’t catch it. I just made the side by side video. A
@journalsentinel
reporter caught it, as did many others, and the newspaper’s Bruce Vielmetti filed a story about it. Credit goes to him.
WUWM education reporter Emily Files reported on this three days ago. Great to see national coverage generate so much attention but let's make sure we're supporting and appreciating local journalism too. Because it's always there for us.
I don’t know Bill personally but I respect the hell out him. What a journalism career here in Milwaukee. I’d be remiss if I didn’t share this INCREDIBLE video of him challenging former Police Chief Ed Flynn at the end of a press conference.
.
@BillGlauber
retires tomorrow after a 47-yr career in journalism, including 18 yrs at JS. He’s joked over the past yr that he’s on sorority row w/ all the young women working in the newsroom.
So we made up a chapter and initiated him as an honorary member of Delta Journo Chi-O
Look at the Hoan Bridge tonight. It’s lit up red in honor of Mildred Fish-Harnock, a Milwaukee native who moved to Germany and lead a Nazi resistance movement and would eventually became the only American civilian known to have been executed by direct order from Adolf Hitler.
How is Rose Lavelle not starting this game?! Seems to me her skill set is exactly what you need in this game. Not to mention she’s the free kick taker. Don’t like that decision at all.
Another incredible
@riverwest24
bike race. It’s hard to explain to people who aren’t familiar with the event just how big, inclusive and fun it is. My favorite day of the year.
This was a very difficult day. I lost one of my best friends to Covid-19 just days before the election and to see this political gamesmanship was infuriating. I’m typically good at separating myself for the job but this felt deeply personal. Here’s the line to vote that day.
Wisconsin, 4 years ago today
Mere weeks into the pandemic, Robin Vos forces thousands of Milwaukeeans — many without access to any PPE — to decide between skipping an election and voting in person at the *five* polling stations available for hundreds of thousands of voters
Real quick: In retrospect I wouldn’t have gone with “sexiest” given how we — and I mean society in general &men specifically — constantly sexualize women, minimizing the work and achievement among other things. It wasn’t aimed at the players themselves. Anyways, I do regret that.
I can not recommend enough a visit to the Rudolph Grotto Gardens, just outside Stevens Point, Wis. The Wonder Cave belongs with the great wonders of the world. It took me like a half hour to weave through. Two priests built this place. It’s mind blowing.
Yeaterday I visited the Ave Maria Grotto in Cullman, Alabama, a 4 acre miniature city with scale model stone and cement structures built by a hunchbacked Bavarian monk from 1912-1958
Anyways, I was completely oblivious to this sad chapter of Wisconsin history until recently when I saw PBS Wisconsin's excellent documentary "Wisconsin Pride." It's required watching.
