Gvardiol seems to be the one that’s a scapegoat for some. Personally I think he’s been mustard. Not only his first season in the Premier League but in a new position, under a very demanding manager and in a much more tactical system where defensive qualities are almost secondary.

The Palmer transfer doesn’t bother me personally. Good deal all round. He’s excelling in a free role, kudos. He’d never have had that luxury at City, he’d have been a RW and had to earn his stripes very much like Foden had to. And had to play in a much more disciplined system.

When you look back at last season and the achievements across the treble.. Walloped United for 6, stuck 4 past Arsenal, Liverpool & Spurs. Beat Arsenal, Chelsea & United en route to win the FA Cup. Made light work of Madrid & Bayern to lift the ol’ big ears. Some treble that.
