A daughter of a peshmerga who carried a gun in one hand & a pen in another, who taught on mountains & in caves under the Baath regime; granddaughter to a man who couldn’t hold a book in his hand… both could only dream of a day like today for their daughter I am grateful.

My cousin is safi shash (grade 12) and cries four times a day. It's torture. The pressure on students to get the right grades is unbelievable. My aunt keeps telling her "your entire life depends on these exams," It's crazy. This must change sooner or later.
