It’s been a while since I shared this, but it still never fails to stop me in my tracks. Portrait of an Old Woman, by Christian Seybold, was painted in 1749... it’s photorealism long before photographs! Via Harvard Art Museums.
What a hoot. This quaint Owl wallpaper was designed by C.F.A. Voysey now know as a pioneer of modern architecture, the print is an example of his works from early on in his career where he focused on interiors.
