McGill confirmed in their email that students rejected both this offer and possibility of mediation via email on June 14. Members of the encampment say this is a lie and that students reached out to continue discussions with McGill.

I still think about this a lot. Some teachers really fed into the anxieties that some children were already enduring, and some teachers who used yelling as a form of retribution - especially harmful for children with unstable homes or with abusive/reactive parents.

In its proposal, #McGill is also offering scholarships for Palestinian scholars and displaced scholars through its Scholars and Risk program. McGill says this would include consultations from the community, with the inclusion of McGill students.

It’s been reported that there a #GazaSolidarityEncampment was set up in #Alberta days ago, however, it’s not yet confirmed whether this was a temporary encampment or it’s indefinite. However, the #McGill Gaza solidarity encampment is the first in Quebec and Central Canada.
