Today I witnessed the commissioning of the Sierra Leone Foreign Service Academy. This is a critical step towards deepening & strengthening diplomatic practice. A strong Foreign Service is integral to any country’s capacity to project soft power in the multilateral system.

At today’s AU-UN Joint Task Force mtg on the margins of #UNGA , both sides reiterated the imperative for closer cooperation. At the heart of the discussions was how to avoid a security vacuum in Mali & Sahel post #MINUSMA . Time for a new security architecture for the Sahel.
