My Nan was an amazing woman who saw through the Catholic Church for what it was: men wielding power & the subjugation of women. She used to walk her dogs past Bessborough everyday. When the nuns weren’t looking, the imprisoned women would reach between the bars & (1/5)

Many in society were under the thumb of the Church & pretended not to know what was going on. Not my Nan - I remember when I was small, early 80s, walking the dogs with my Nan & often running into a nun. Maybe I got my lack of reverence for these imprisoners from my Nan? (5/6)

@PMc276 I voted Yes to family but I can understand why people voted No. I think most voted No because they didn’t know what a durable relationship was from a legal perspective. We had Gov TDs contradicting each other or avoiding the question entirely. With refs, the default is No.

Public money has been spent on extending Vincent’s car park as part of enabling works for the new NMH However, the car parks are owned by a private company Pianora Ltd. So did the state just gift a private LTD company more car parking spaces to collect revenue on? #makeNMHOurs

@PMc276 I’m not married, cohabiting with a child. It’s shit we’re not recognised in the constitution but I do not believe the No vote is any way a judgement on my family. There were so many unanswered questions. If in doubt, vote no is a bit of a mantra when it comes to refs.

I've shared this with others over the years: I had a miscarriage in 2010. I had zero say over my own body & nearly bled to death over a cluster of cells w/a heartbeat in a Catholic-run hospital. It was disgusting how the nurses & doctors treated the situation.

60 v 72 Government refused to support the @sinnfeinireland Bill to regulate #CAMHS & tackle waiting lists. Instead, voting in favour of their own amendment. Last week, they voted against the Scoliosis Kids, this week, the kids struggling with mental health difficulties.

Putting risk of religious ethos aside, what analysis has @DonnellyStephen @HSELive done to ensure that relocation to Elm Pk is the best location for relocation of NMH? 2008 KPMG report advised Elm Pk because it complimented tri location of adult/children/maternity at Mater site

It deeply matters who owns/ governs this hospital. It might matter less right now, with committed providers, but it could matter hugely in 50 years, with a different religious-cultural climate. The State is paying & should demand appropriate governance. #MakeNMHOurs @drboylan

If you’re under 17, and present to your GP for trans healthcare, you’ll be referred to a list that goes nowhere. You’ll have to wait until you’re 17 when you will get added to the back of the adult referral waiting list. And then wait some more years.

I. Am. Done. I have spent the best part of the last year fighting tooth and nail for #BetterMaternityCare for partners of pregnant people in maternity services. But GAA gets 25 THOUSAND people for a match. While women are going through a hugely vulnerable health journey alone.
