There’s no new year wrap up for me other than I truly hope 2024 is a year where witness a rise of radical resistance and witness the collapse of imperialist forces. We can’t keep living like this!
‘We will rebuild it, even if it took 100 years, that is why we were created. Inshallah every year will my land be mine, my sea be mine, and sky be mine. Eid Mubarak.’ - Bisan Owda

Palestinians have shown us time and time again what it means to be steadfast in the struggle towards liberation. In the face of a genocide, Palestinians have restored Wi-Fi connection when colonial powers tried to make the world turn away. 1/3

The Israeli occupation killed Refaat Alareer!
‘People get used to anything. The less you think about your oppression, the more your tolerance for it grows. After a while, people just think oppression is the normal state of things. But to become free, you have to be acutely aware of being a slave.’

Assata Shakur,
A protestor at a pro-Palestine march with a placard showing Rishi and Suella as coconuts was investigated by the police but a Tory donor stating Diane Abbott (a Black MP) should be shot will have nothing happen to him. Policing is designed to protect and serve the elite.
Our liberation will not come from institutions in the imperial core. Today and everyday is a reminder that our liberation will come from the people on the ground organising for a better world by any means necessary. My hope is with the people not with these corrupt institutions.
Malcolm X, a revolutionary leader, thinker and organiser was murdered on this day in 1965 at the age of 39. The FBI opened a file on him in 1953 and continued surveillance until his assassination in 1965. On June 6, 1964, FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover… 1/4
The university has agreed to our proposal to incorporate ‘racial trauma’ as a reason to defer essays and exams for Black and PoC students, it will be done through self-certification (moving away from providing so called evidence). 💥💥
Another reason why I will always reject the notion that working within the system - a system rooted in the destruction of oppressed communities will liberate us. You will become an agent to the imperial core. 1/2
I’m convinced that the Black Twitter accounts saying ‘why should we support the liberation of Palestinians because of anti-blackness’ are actually undercover feds doing divide and conquer tactics.
Black revolutionaries and Palestinian revolutionaries have always stood together.
Today Mumia Abu-Jamal has turned 70 years old and has been incarcerated for over 42 years. He has been intentionally medically neglected. The prison conditions are designed to slowly kill those who who are incarcerated. 🧵
I blame all of you who condemned resistance / who condemned Palestine fighting for complete liberation / I blame all of you who threw Palestinians under the bus to protect your shit careers. I blame you for wanting Palestinian to be passive while under Israel’s genocidal regime.
People in Gaza broke into a UN warehouse where food was stored but wasn’t being distributed to people in Gaza - who did not have access to food/water. The people of Palestine show us (the world) what guerrilla organising looks like. We must follow suit for a liberated world. 2/3
I can’t stop thinking about when Malcolm X said ‘the liberal is more deceitful and hypocritical than the conservatives’ - the same people who have built a career writing about revolutionary struggle are the same people who will sell you out to protect their careers.
We must learn from organisers who have fought colonial powers and succeeded. We must learn from organisers on the ground who remain steadfast even in dire time. We just stay steadfast in the journey towards liberation. 3/3
The first time I heard Sheikh Noreen Muhammad Siddiq recite I instantly started crying. I felt every word he uttered. When I found out his passed away I cried even more. May he be granted Jannah al firdous!
What happened in Manchester Airport where police officers brutalised two people laying on the floor - kicking and stomping their head is a representation of what policing is. What happened to Sonya Massey and Chris Kaba is a representation of policing. A violent institution. 🧵

‘To educate the masses politically does not mean, cannot mean, making a political speech. What it means is to try, relentlessly and passionately, to teach the masses that everything depends on them; that if we stagnate it is their responsibility… 🧵
Learn your role in the revolution and how you play a part in our collective liberation. Learn what contributions you can bring to the movement which will keep evolving. We need to learn how to be in formation and you need to join a radical organisation. 🧵
‘The paradox of education is precisely this - that as one begins to become conscious one begins to examine the society in which he is being educated.’ — James Baldwin
The Kenyan youth set Kenya’s parliament on fire. Just look at how the people in Africa organise and resist. May we see a free and liberated Africa in our life time from these imperialist tyrants. May the resistance continue to be spread across Africa. ☄️
Israel doesn’t need to be prepared in the ICJ - Israel is simple banking on the continued support by other imperialist forces through armed trade, financial support and political alliances. Israel lawyers are telling the world they don’t need to rely on receipts just propaganda.
Cover up / change your clothes from previous protest / don’t share videos or pictures of peoples faces online / research how to best protect yourself from surveillance as there’s a lot of info online.
Remember we protect each other not this Babylon system of oppression.
The Metropolitan Police chief tells the London Assembly his force is planning "sharper interventions" and use social media analytics and retrospective facial recognition for surveillance of "troublemakers" at Palestine solidarity protests this weekend
sent a telegram that became public that said ‘do something about Malcolm X.’ When we pay tribute to our martyrs who were assassinated remember the states involved in assassinating our leaders and destabilising our movements. 2/4
Chris Kaba was executed by the police on the 5th September 2022. Joy Gardner, Roger Sylvester, Mzee Mohammed-Daley, Trevor Smith, Sarah Reed, Cherry Groce, Dalian Atkinson, Cynthia Jarrett, Mark Duggan were killed by the police and the list continues!

My family invited my aunt for iftar, as we were breaking our fast, she kept dismissing my points and then made a comment about my skin tone. I got up and walked away, I refuse to normalise colourism. She tried to apologies because my light skin sister told her it was unacceptable
We can’t actually discourse our way into liberation. So much discourse on here is fuelled by ego and wanting to appear intellectually superior. It’s not rooted in political education nor organising against these oppressive regimes. 1
Some people treat organising as a social club where it’s filled with cliques. We not all going to be friends You can dislike someone and still organise with them for the greater purpose of our movement and our collective liberation. We need to be more disciplined in our spaces.
To end with one of my favourite quotes by Malcolm X ‘people involved in a revolution don’t become part of the system; they destroy the system… The Negro revolution is no revolution because it condemns the system and then asks the system it has condemned to accept them.’ 3/4

May Allah have mercy upon Malcolm X (el-Hajj Malik el-Shabazz) and may the highest gates of Jannah open for him. May his legacy continue, may his words continue to move movements, may we study from him and build our movements with the same discipline and commitment! 4/4
Any resistance to colonial forces is justified. Historically it was justified and right now it is justified. This take isn’t a radical one but a take that is rooted in historical analysis is how oppressed groups liberated themselves from the shackles of Imperial colonial rule!1/3
We know strip searches are state sanctioned sexual assault. We know strip search is a racist policy that is enacted to violate and oppress Black people particularly Black youth. We know not just through these databases but through the voices of our community. Abolish it now!
Black children are 6.5 times more likely than white children, and Black adults 4.7 times more likely than white adults, to be strip searched by police.
Our new briefing evidences the disproportionate, racialised harm caused by strip searches.

The political betrayal of having Edward Said as a professor and later becoming a agent to the biggest imperial state / being an agent that caused mass destruction across the Middle East and Africa. Obama will always be remembered as a genocidal tyrant!!!!
When you quote the Black panthers remember that many of them are still with us and are facing repercussions for organising against a fascist police state. Mumia Abu-Jamal is a political prisoner and many of our revolutionaries are being kept hostage by the fascist police state.
Violence is only condemned when the political elite are targeted. Violence committed by the political elite is legitimatised and applauded when dropping bombs in the global south murdering people. Obama dropped 26,171 bombs in 2016 - three bombs every hour, 24 hours a day!
There is absolutely no place for political violence in our democracy. Although we don’t yet know exactly what happened, we should all be relieved that former President Trump wasn’t seriously hurt, and use this moment to recommit ourselves to civility and respect in our politics.
‘What history really shows is that today's empire is tomorrow's ashes; that nothing lasts forever and that to not resist is to acquiesce in your own oppression. The greatest form of sanity that anyone can exercise is to resist that force that is trying to repress and oppress.’1/2

International law isn’t even useless it’s working as it’s intended to protect and serve imperialist forces - a reminder that Amerikkka is the largest donor to the UN. Don’t call upon systems designed to oppress us organise an internationalist revolution that will abolish them!
Mumia a revolutionary organiser and thinker is being tortured in prison. He has had double bypass heart surgery in 2021 and has had other serious health issues, including COVID 19 and hepatitis C and his health conditions are deteriorating. Prison is killing him.
Lewisham had the fourth-highest covid death rates in England. Goldsmiths reopening campus will endanger the lives of the local community, which has a massive Afro-Caribbean population. This decision is beyond the impact of students and staff; why that's difficult to grasps
We got jummah prayers to be implemented in the timetables for the upcoming academic year. Between 1-2pm lectures will not be scheduled in and students no longer need to choose prayer or lectures. Those small wins just remind us why we are doing this! 😭

With the rise of consciousness and organising against the imperialist forces we will once again see an increase in surveillance and infiltration in our movements. The SpyCops ‘scandal’ and COINTELPRO are not operations of the past - it has just transformed.

I did not accept her apology and nor will i allow people around me to dismiss and downplay colourist remarks. The Somali community needs to have a frank conversation about colourism and how it is imbedded into our everyday practices.
Parliamentary politics will not save us. These politicians will not save us. Whoever wins will inevitably serve the interest of this imperialist country. What will save and liberate us is organised community resistance. Regardless of the results we will continue organise!
To be living under an white supremacist capitalist world is to be in constant rage - is to be in constant heartbreak - is to be in constant grief. Rage has become a familiar feeling now.
‘Abolition is about abolishing the conditions under which prison became the solution to problems, rather than abolishing the buildings we call prisons.’

An important part I missed was in his 1961 interview he started the speech by saying ‘ to be a Negro in this country and to be relatively conscious is to be in a state of rage almost, almost all of the time.’
I can’t believe it’s been 7 years since the Grenfell Tower fire. 7 years since 72 people were murdered by corporate greed. 7 years and no justice served. Dozen of firefighters were diagnosed with digestive cancers or leukaemia. My friends who live there have become sick. 🧵
Universities are a site of violence it’s designed to conform and mould students into what it deems as ‘acceptable’ but what these students are doing is an act of refusal - a powerful act of refusal to stand unapologetically with Palestinian liberation. Massive solidarity! ❤️🔥
UPDATE: A massive group of students have surrounded the Columbia University Palestine solidarity encampment to express their support for the protesters
People are tweeting about the Super Bowl whilst 1.4 million Palestinians in Rafah are being carpet bombed by Israel - the very genocidal regime that paid for a Super Bowl propaganda ad! There’s no word left just pure rage.
Every skill is needed and we need to be more gracious to those who are just beginning to understand how the imperialist forces operates. Raising people’s consciousness is a necessity in our movements because we no longer rely on certain individuals - we rely on the collective.
Policing is not designed to keep anyone safe - it’s designed to maintain a white supremacist capitalist imperialist world. All police officers are agents to protect capitalism, protect white supremacy, protect imperialism. Learn the role of the police and we protect each other!

This is police behaviour also this was not a consensual relationship. What this dusty cop journalist did was create a false image to gather information on a activist. It was abuse and violation. Anything ‘intimate’ was non-consensual because it was done under false pretence. 🧵

After nearly two years the police officer who shot and murdered Chris Kaba has been named. His name is Martyn Blake. Remember this name because the system will protect him. Let his name be everywhere and let us remember the police officer that murdered Chris Kaba. 1/2
Yesterday I met my great aunt who is over 100 years and the sole survivor of her siblings. She witnessed Somalia colonised and witnessed Somalia liberated. Then she witnessed the civil war and more. Our elders hold so much knowledge and wisdom I wish I could stay here with her.
You want colonised people to be begging for their colonisers to liberate them - pleading to a genocidal colonial power backed and funded by other colonial powers intentionally. When revolutionaries said by any means necessary what did you think they were talking about a 1/2
Every role in the revolution is important the work that is seen and not seen from the hours of admin work, cooking food, arrestee support, housing people, strategising and envisioning, redistributing knowledge, being on the frontline - these are important functions.
Toni Morrison - Friendships.
We have to see our friendships as a means of survival - the same way our bodies depend on food and water, our bodies depend on communities.
The friendships and communities we cultivate makes life liveable.

When we are dying in every way possible because of these imperialist tyrants we will not condemn those who choose to resist in order for us to survive and live. This is a principled position!
On Thursday APD, the FBI, GBI, and ATF executed three search warrants and made one arrest in pursuit of evidence related to an act of arson on police motorcycles.
Thursday evening, a journalist asked if organizers [condemn] the arson.
@Maryhooks

responded:
The turning point isn’t that the police are now attacking professors and students. The turning point is that we are connecting our struggles against a fascist imperialist police state. We know policing was designed to oppress and repress now it’s time to organise against them.
Abolition isn’t a theoretical abstract concept - it’s necessary for our survival because the police will continue to brutalise and murder people within our communities because it’s roots are violent not broken but oppressive. It’s designed to oppress us.
To start a genocide to pause a genocide and restart a genocide is
psychologically warfare.
Israel is a wicked blood thirsty apartheid regime that has the goal to ethnically cleanse and destroy the Palestinian people. You cannot pause genocide! Why is this even a debate!
After nearly 5 months of occupying Deptford Town Hall, we
@GoldAntiRacism

used violence to silence us, students of colour conquered and WON!
#goldoccupy
May you all be held accountable in this life and the next for having Iftar with the very politicians who have blood on their hands - the politicians who have caused Palestinians to starve and be murdered. You broke your fast with the oppressors do you have no shame?

Once again these people are so disconnected from the struggles and organising happening on the ground. Defund the police is just a theoretical concept - a slogan to them. For us it’s a necessity to our survival - our existence. 1/2

arguing against ‘defund the police’. At Glastonbury…
Range of opinions here!
Says you need to focus on creating a more equal society first and that it’s putting the ‘cart before the horse’.
The more we organise the more the imperialist forces will attempt to repress the organising which is currently happening - let’s bring people into our movements not deter them.
We can mobilise numbers we have seen that at Peckham today but we need to become more organised and more militant. The fascist police state will become more violent as we organise for our liberation meaning we have to be more prepared. So many thoughts today. 😭
There’s no other option but to resist by any means. People went through the bureaucratic processes and learnt that nothing changes through corrupt politicians. Mass strikes, disruptions in every sector, walk outs etc must happen now. Everything needs to crumble.
On a serious note, Lewisham suffers from high levels of poverty and inequality. The 29 tonnes of carrots being dumped on the ground shows Goldsmiths lack of care for the wider community and the impact/violence of gentrification in the area.
The imperialist killing machine that is criminalising and killing us banks on the constant divides made through ego based discourses. We are not afforded time and we don’t have time - we need to be organised! Respectfully some of us need to stfu, learn and organise and relearn. 2

Now you want to show sympathy for Palestinians because you see them just as victims. Palestinian resistance will still continue until Palestine is liberated and free. Your sympathy means nothing if you do not stand with Palestinian liberation by any means necessary.
