Hard part is you can’t actually “own” the chick fil a. A franchisee for them is more of an operator paying $10k for a $200k a year job.

In April of 2018, I started working for an eCommerce platform startup, in sales.

At this point, I had no real sales experience, had created a failed BarkBox clone, and did email marketing for a consultancy.
In Q4, I ran a direct mail test for a brick and mortar client.
First mailer, standard postcard size, $0.27 a piece.
Second drop, jumbo mailer, $0.31 a piece.
Same offer, free product.
Second won 4:1.
Tons of new customers w/both.
7-fig sales
Direct mail is wild.
Go big.

My beloved Bear passed away.

I think we’re at a point of market maturity where the launch fast and iterate doesn’t work as well as it used to.
Across SaaS and eCommerce in 2019, the best businesses (brand strength + financial metrics) took time to aggressively refine product and experience before launch.
