In the foster system, there are emergency placements. We had one around midnight. The child was scared, if not traumatized. This morning he is laughing and playing in our backyard--because of my wife's work. Props to all you foster moms! All work, no glory.

The SBC's decline corresponds with the shift towards fundamentalism and away from evangelicalism. What was a big-tent conservative group is becoming a narrow fundamentalist group. I do not anticipate the SBC changing course any time soon. Thus, declines will continue. #SBC24

There's a lot of media coverage of the Southern Baptist Convention because it serves as a bellwether for evangelicalism. But the share of all evangelicals who are Southern Baptist is declining, from 23% to 18%. In 1984, 5% of evangelicals were non-denom. In 2022, it was 40%.

Please keep an eye on the white families who adopt or foster black or brown children. Some do it for the paycheck but don’t spend the money on caring for the kids. Others dress their black children up & constantly make them perform for white society- often at white churches.🤬

Today at @westbradenton : A father said his children are ready for baptism. A mother said her son is finally getting help for alcoholism. A deaf woman communicated she wants to teach Jesus to others who speak her language. Kids ran around without shoes (ok mine). I love my church!

I had lunch with a local pastor. He arrived at his church right before COVID hit. They had 20 people and a serious need for revitalization. Today they have 100 people attending. I asked him how this happened. His answer: "A strong emphasis on corporate prayer."
