Ward 4 Candidate- 2024 🗳️It’s Time for Change, The time is NOW!! 🗳️
#yxecivicelection2024
We desperately need change in Saskatoon City Council. Majority of them have had multiple terms to bring positive change to our city and that fact is it’s only getting worse. Priorities seem to be out of control and it’s all about their self agendas now. This cannot continue. The
@CateSask
Well if that was my child absolutely I would be taking this for further investigation and so would any parent I am sure. The word choice in that email is not the best IMO.
So the City of Saskatoon released its mid year financial report and they are, shockingly, 5.3 million in the hole.
The biggest reason for this, they say, is our March snowstorm. That’s incredible. One major snowstorm cripples us like that. Who would expect a western Canadian

The unfortunate news is council unanimously voted to approve the DEED plan. Good news is that was the last meeting before the election meaning there is still time to make changes and put a stop to this money pit disaster. Please people inform yourselves on this project and make

This turnover is long overdue and well be welcomed by many from the conversations I have been having. People are tired of the same old, same old and not having a voice. I truly. Alive the word incumbent won’t be an advantage this time around as those with that designation beside

Literally can’t go a day without some form of incident occurring in the city. Yet we have officials that claim it’s a safe city. 🤔
Let’s get out from under our rock and open our eyes as these are peoples lives and safety.
All highways in and out of Saskatoon travel not recommended. City is in bad shape as well. Bottom line is if you don’t need to leave your house probably a great couch potato day.

Incredible. Enough ignoring the issue at hand. Safety is at risk here on so many levels and yet keep pushing it aside it will go away. Well we are not going away. The west side is uniting stronger and will have a strong voice to make the changes needed.
Quite interesting why the city shut off comments on this post about the DEED. Goes to show how hearing what people have to say is not of their best interest.
@TheStarPhoenix
A) this should be put to a plebiscite vote for the public to have a voice
B) be open and transparent with this project so we as taxpayers know what’s going on. At the end of the day this is nearing a billion dollar project all said and done I am sure so informing citizens of any
2024 City of Saskatoon taxes 6.04% and 2025 5.64%.
Major increases for what? 🤷
What are we receiving in return? From my point of view not a lot. Core services are subpar at best. Seeing increases like that one would think at the very least our core services are top notch but
Every voice matters in this fight. Change CAN and WILL happen!! This is also why there needs to be change in council. The ones that can help with this are either making it difficult or completely ignoring it. Last Wednesdays council meeting showed where they truly stand on this
Couldn’t agree more Rob. If I get elected in Ward 4 I will be with you on this. Makes little to no sense. Are they trying to push us to become a 15 min city? Why? 🤷
We can do this better Saskatoon.

Well I know if I'm elected in Ward 3, I will be looking to dismantle it and change back the zoning by-laws. We live in Saskatoon, not Europe, and there are better ways to do this.

Good day Neighbours,
As many of you know I am running for city council in Ward 4 this fall. As I officially kick off my campaign today I am seeking people to join the team. This journey starts today and will take a full team effort to achieve the ultimate goal of being elected.
This is pathetic that those words would be used by your own councillor. Someone who is to represent their ward and be a voice. These are citizens speaking up and either being ignored or lied to. What’s even more sad is it’s our political leaders misleading us. If you don’t want
This is my neighbour. She is one of the kindest people I've ever met. She keeps an eye in the park on a regular basis because her kids play in their yard and the park, and we have many issues in the community since the shelter opened 1.5 years ago.

Sadly this is what is slowly happening in Saskatoon especially on the west side. Without addressing it soon it could be a ghost town with no businesses and abandoned buildings.
Of those remaining on council who have yet to declare for this coming election, you all have had multiple terms now to make positive changes in this city, be fiscally responsible, show transparency and represent your constituents with their best interests in mind. I would love

ICYMI: Saskatoon Tribal Council Chief Mark Arcand hit back Thursday, defending the 106-bed Fairhaven emergency wellness centre after a letter penned by Fairmont Baptist Church pastor Robert Pearce demanded the shelter be closed before this summer.
I wanted to bring this up as it has come up several times on my door knocking journey the past few days. A few nights ago I had a constituent say they were told by a candidate that they don’t support the downtown arena at all. 🤔. Ok. I didn’t say anything and left it at that.
Isn’t a main focus of a councillor to engage with their constituents even if it’s bad or good. Are you not supposed to be their voice or am I wrong? 🤷

Many choose to ignore their constituents until close to election time and then they are magically around. Interesting how that works. 🤔🤔🤔
Another great afternoon of door knocking.
Residents continue to talk about:
- DEED and why now? Why no public vote on it?
- Increased taxes with little to show for.
- No transparency on anything anymore.
- Community safety concerns and homelessness.
- The need for change
100% not. This is why many have chose not to run again I’m sure and why others remain on the fence. Deep down they know the damage they did and now do they want to face the music from the citizens. Either way citizens need to speak in volumes on November 13.

Do you feel like the west side of Saskatoon is neglected? Do you feel our current councillors for the west side have lost their focus on supporting us? Do you feel your voice is not being heard because some councillors have either checked out or are too focused
But nothing is happening in Fairhaven, right? 🤷🤷
We must be delusional.
Government at all levels NEED to step up and get a plan in place to bring safety back to the community. If this was in any of their backyards I bet resolution would have come very quick. 🤔🤔
Those that say crime isn’t happening are trying to spin the TRUTH. Talk to any business owner. The 7/11 alone has a 1100% crime increase.
Fire Asst Chief Yvonne Raymer even said Fairhaven had one of the lowest needle pick-ups in previous years. Addictions are creating crime!

You couldn’t be more right. Everything is secret and behind closed doors. Maybe this is why we have heard crickets on the remaining 5 councillors who still haven’t said a word if they are running again or not. One would think you would want to get ahead and make a statement

As most people running in civic elections are usually people who want a better community and city, maybe the media could encourage candidates to run a clean campaign instead of resorting to mudslinging that detracts from the issues?
@RevRobYXE
@cynthiaformayor
In all honestly everyone on current council has had time to take this issue seriously and do their best to address it or at the very least attempt as much as they can within their power. To date, we are still holding our breath waiting for this homeless issue to be addressed as
Libraries, buses and our own neighbourhoods are becoming extremely unsafe. This is getting worse and worse by the day. Stats are showing major spikes YOY. We need to get a grip on this for the safety of our friends, families and neighbours. Increased police presence and officers
Even our libraries are becoming unsafe in our city. These type of incidents are no longer one offs or isolated and are occurring far too often. We really need to get a grasp on some of these issues or it will continue to spiral out of control.
