When Prince was on Twitter, he'd occasionally share YouTube videos of music by other artists. Here are some of the songs he shared.
I've tried to keep the same links but where the videos are no longer available, I've replaced the links.*
Prince talking about Beyoncé during the announcement of 'Musicology' in 2004: "She really cares about music."
Prince and Beyoncé both released 'Musicology' and 'COWBOY CARTER' in their 40s. Both albums are a celebration of their musical heritage.
Beyoncé IS a MUSICOLOGIST, an intellectual and creative who makes music that is so intertwined with BLACK HISTORY. At this stage in her music career, where is her honorary Ph.D., as a musicologist from a prominent music institution? She is not only a student of her craft but a
LaFace/Arista did this to Toni Braxton & when she sued them & WON they gagged her so she couldn’t talk abt it, while the media humiliated her & made her out to be this wild financially irresponsible person & let her be the butt of everyone’s jokes knowing they robbed her
Prince didn't consider any of his albums to be flops because, in his own words, "The album is already a success when I have a copy."
More people should have that mindset when it comes to art.
Cast POC in everything so these racist fucks have nothing left to watch, crawl into a cave, and rot away without anyone ever hearing from them ever again.
You ever hear a song and it sound like another song but you research and it say they not related but you KNOW you hear elements of the first song in the other song?
'Doesn't Really Matter' was covered by Japanese artist Hitomi Shimatani.

People who say The Acolyte isn't relatable are disingenuous. At it's core, that show is about people wanting freedom to be themselves, to be seen for who they are, and to be accepted for who they are. That's universal.
2) I feel like everyone has no idea of how close Prince is with the Jackson Family. Latoya tells us herself Prince wanted to date her at one point & that Prince, her, MJ, & some other friend would literally rollerskate together. When Latoya heard of Prince’s death she says this
Prince: "I don't go to awards shows anymore. I'm not saying I'm better than anybody else. But you'll be sitting there at the Grammys, and U2 will beat you. And you say to yourself, 'Wait a minute. I can play that kind of music too... But you will not do "Housequake."'"
Like Sheila said, "We did that all the time." Prince himself said he found it hard to listen to music by other artists without arranging it in his head. That didn't mean he thought what other artists did wasn't of merit.
Sheila E. reveals for the first time that Prince re-recorded the song "Bad" after Michael Jackson sent it to him and created a better version than the original.
Also, Sheila E. reveals Prince's initial reaction to hearing the song "Bad" for the first time and how Michael
I've watched a lot of Star Wars, and I like most of the stuff they release, but

Prince's NPG Music Club website in 2003
A subscription-based service where Prince independently distributed his music to his fans, making his music available to download and stream (BEFORE iTunes and Spotify). He even released podcasts (Ahdio Shows).
Prince's discography is too vast and diverse to be represented by his hits. When people say they "don't get" his music, they've usually only listened to the hits. You need to dig deeper than the hits to appreciate Prince. He has so many hidden gems.
"Everybody's talented at something and that's what makes the world go around. And we all need each other."
"It's a hurtful place the world in and of itself. We don't need to add to it. And we're in a place now where we all need one another."

I know some Prince fans are sick of "Purple Rain" because his other albums don't receive nearly the same level of attention but this year is the 40th anniversary of his most popular work and I need the estate to go all out on celebrating this era.

Prince on how his father taught him to play the piano: "We learn from being shown. It doesn't come from books and just reading it. We need to be shown."
Academic study is not the only way to interact with a complex body of knowledge. Desire, diligent observation, practice with repeated feedback, going over and over until the brain sees it and makes the connect.

Two moments from Prince's interview on MuchMoreMusic Live! (2004)
"I'm most happy when people come up to me and they say they're inspired by my music and they're actually talented."
"[I'm] trying to see if you fit the profile of a bootlegger."
The Jacksons performing "I Wanna Be Where You Are" on the Destiny Tour. I would've loved for Michael to have revisited more of his solo Motown songs as an adult to see his evolution.

"Destiny's Child brought in $93 million last year. How much do you think they themselves actually got? It's totally unequal."—Prince (2001 Yahoo! Internet Life interview)
