We are saddened at the events in Birmingham which took Jacob’s life and left Michael critically injured. The staff gathered this evening to pray for them and their families. We are praying for Michael’s recovery and will never forget Jacob, his life touched so many in our school
Today we remember Mr Summerfield as his funeral takes place. A great man who worked tirelessly for the school, he was an inspirational teacher and a great friend. A page has been set up for donations in memory of him
The College community is both shocked and devastated at the loss of Jack, a young man of talent and kindness who had a great future in front of him. At this time our thoughts and prayers are with his family and with his friends and all of those touched by this tragic loss
While we were raising money in school, Mr Darmody was doing a 112 mile bike ride, 2.5 miles swim followed by a marathon all for The Brain Tumour Charity!

Well done to all of our sixth form pupils who organised a charity football match tonight in aid of dementia charities. They are an absolute credit to the school.
A massive thank you to Jermaine Jenas, who took time out of his busy schedule today to talk to our pupils about the hard work he put in to become a successful Premier League & international footballer, and now a presenter for Match of the Day and The One Show.

We’re leaving boxes of equipment in Sainsburys and Coop for any of our pupils who might need an exercise book, pens and other equipment to help them complete their remote learning.
At 11 o clock on the 11th November representatives of each year group will stand on our red stairs while we play The Last Post and release poppies. At the same time across the school we will observe 2 minutes silence

So proud of all of our students who have all worked so hard and got the brilliant results that they deserve, like Joel who is off to Bristol to study Veterinary Science.
We’re really proud of our former Head Girl Niamh, featured on TV tonight. Her journey from selective mutism at age 3 to now studying to be a speech and language therapist at university is inspirational. She said: “I hope to be able to give other people their voice too.”
Join us at Marine FC when our teachers (plus special guests) play past and present students in a charity match - Let’s Do This For Isabel - £5 tickets in advance or at the gate. Jamie Carragher will be kicking off. Signed Everton Shirt and Football & 4 Everton Tickets on Auction
Well done to our Sixth Form students who grilled Labour Leader, Sir Keir Starmer, at the Liverpool Echo offices today
Sacred Heart was one of only three schools at the Question Time-styled event that saw Mr Starmer quizzed on everything from Brexit to reforming the House of Lords
At 11 o clock 10000 poppies cascaded down our staircase as one of our pupils read In Flanders’ Fields. All of our classes stopped and heard the same poem and then the College fell silent. Our pupils joined Mr Morgan and placed a poppy cross under one of our cherry trees.
After two successful days of testing four year groups, we are testing our sixth form today and setting up a third testing station at upper site ready for round two of testing. It’s a lot of hard work but it’s worth to get our students back on Monday!
Mr Morgan was delighted to present a cheque to
@DementiaUK
for over £10000 raised from the charity work our pupils have carried out and from our school Christmas Fair.
Congratulations to Y11 pupil, Seb Spelman, who has signed a professional contract with Wigan Athletic.
The contract will come into play once he completes his scholarship aged 18.
This doesn't happen often and, at 15, Seb is one of the youngest football players to achieve this.
Although they were not able to take exams due to the pandemic, their results are deserved and their talents are clear. These young people will follow in the great tradition of the school and will achieve great success in University and beyond.

Today, ahead of Remembrance Sunday, staff, students, pupils from our partner primary schools, scouts and cadets took part in a ceremony to remember the sacrifice of those who defended our freedoms and protected our way of life.
The Last Post played as poppies cascaded down.
A great results day, Mr Mooney said: “It has been wonderful to see our Yr13 students arrive in school today to collect their results. Staff and Governors recognise the hard slog that students had to commit to during the spring and summer months to achieve these fine results.”
We’d like to wish all of our pupils and all of their families a Happy Easter. This is a difficult time, but there will be a time ahead when things are better again. Until then:

A thought provoking artwork, our pupil Spencer says of his work “My paintings convey the true bravery of the NHS workers, risking their lives through this pandemic.” He expresses “the theme of a hero, emphasising the admiration and love we should have for health care workers”
