I’m truly honoured and humbled to have been duly sworn in for the third time, as the Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, by HE
@RealAARahman
. I’m immensely grateful to him, for entrusting me to serve in this capacity, again. I promise to give my very best,
Earlier today, I was inaugurated as the commissioner for Tertiary Education by H.E
@RealAARahman
. I specially thank him and the entire people of Kwara State for this great opportunity to serve.
It is time to work together as a people to actualize the Kwara of our dreams.
It’s the last work day before the inauguration of a new administration.
I received my personal staff, they were the first point of call whenever guests visited my office.
I cleared my stuff, brought down my portrait, and was full of gratitude for a most fulfilling tour of duty🎉
In commemoration of International Women's Day; I was in Ipata Market at 7:00am, to reward our dogged women.
7 days a week either it's cold or rainy; they are in the market from six in the morning to sort vegetables, to tie and sell items worth N5,000 or less. Tribute to all women
It’s a beautiful morning in Ilorin, the weather is so cool and friendly, as we celebrate the emergence of HE
@RealAARahman
as the Chairman, Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF)
Congratulations to us🎉🙌🏾💪🏾
I sincerely appreciate my supporters across Ilorin East/South LGAs, other parts of Kwara, and outside, who stood by me, for their solidarity during the campaign.I urge my supporters to be patient, accept my non-emergence as the will of God & trust that better things would come.
In preparation for the partial lockdown in our State; I distributed some relief materials in foodstuff and other basic essentials to support families that are truly in need, and are most likely to be stranded during the lockdown. We all need each other at this time.
Stay safe!
1/2: Earlier today, I paid an unscheduled visit to two of the state owned institutions; Kwara State College of Education Oro and Kwara State College of Health Technology Offa.
I am delighted to kick start the first Monday of 2021, in continuation of what gives my life a lot of fulfillment, but now, as a private citizen.
I thank the wonderful people of MOTEST, heads of the various institutions, the staff and our great Nigeria Students for their support.
I resumed work this morning at Kwara State Ministry of Tertiary Education. I met with and was given a briefing by the Permanent Secretary on vital issues about the workings of the Ministry.
Alone, I can achieve nothing.
Alone, I know nothing.
Alone, I am nothing.
I live my life as me, only because I relate with people like you.
For me, everyday to live again is a great privilege.
I appreciate all your messages, calls &all that you do, to enhance my social skills🙏🏿🙏🏿
I met for the first time a teenager; Roheemat who wants to be a historian, at a career talk weeks ago. I have mentioned her to a lover of history, who was delighted and promised to send some books to her. I invited her to my office for a chat. We will do our best to support her.
HE
@RealAARahman
has approved the appointment of a renowned educationist and philanthropist; Dr J.B.O Adewumi as the Chancellor of Kwara State University, Malete.
VC is from Kwara Central, Board chairman is from Kwara North and Chancellor is from Kwara South.
Fair distribution!
Tuesday seemed like 2days rolled into one. I achieved so much; but most fulfilling was my visit to my old women friends, to enlighten them about Covid-19. I informed them on the need to maintain personal hygiene, to avoid large crowds and distributed essentials to keep them safe
I visited Roheemat (the student I met last month, who wants to study history) with some gifts and books, to keep her busy, during the total lockdown. Her dad turned out to be my teacher from secondary school. It's a small world indeed! She showed me poems that she wrote recently.
Immediately after my inauguration as the commissioner for Tertiary Education, I proceeded to the ministry of Tertiary Education where I met with the permanent secretary; Alhaji Musa Dasuki, the directors as well as staffs of the ministry.
Impossible does not exist. you can do anything, you can be anything. Continue to be just you and do your best at all times. And most importantly cleanse your mind of everything toxic ( relationships, thoughts etc).Resolve to see, feel and sound positive this decade. All the best.
In a year,
@RealAARahman
govt. has impacted in each of our 11 state-owned institutions. We’ll continue to facilitate positive &productive interactions between all critical stakeholders. We’re committed to
building a system that ensures qualitative learning and teaching delivery
I resumed at the only Girls-only school, in Kwara North, Model Girls College, Okuta, Baruten LGA, at 7:21am.
I interacted with the early birds, observed the first periods in all classes, addressed all staff and students, and also rewarded punctual students.
I enjoyed passing knowledge and learning, at an online interactive session with sociology students of Unilorin. Within the reality of a Covid-19 disrupted world; we must be creative, and continue to engage, and develop ourselves.
Stay safe, stay at home and stay engaged!
It’s a beautiful Friday morning🌦

When I paid an informal visit to the Kwara State University Malete. I interacted with some students in the hostels and administrative block. They had a few complaints and suggestions.

It's a great time to be a woman in Kwara state. 9 out of the 16 commissioners nominated by the people's governor
@RealAARahman
are women.
This is the first time with this kind of women inclusion in Kwara.
This is a great feat! Congratulations Kwarans.
What a conicidence, a day after my resolve is World Book Day!
Just yesterday, I resolved to always find the time to read after work; and I read a few lines from my book ‘never eat alone’ by Keith Ferrazzi.
Book reading should be ingrained in our minds,
Happy World Book Day.
We need to take the community transmission of our common enemy, Covid-19 seriously! As I returned from work today I met these women and stopped to ask why they were out, when we have been told to stay home. They weren’t well informed about Covid-19,
My dear people of Ilorin South local government area, Kwara State and well wishes from across the country.
I thank you all for your overwhelming support and prayers, while we worked tirelessly during the struggle for Kwara's liberation,

2/2: I met with some of the students and staff of these institutions in a bid to understand how best the state government through the Ministry of Tertiary Education can work with them to improve their welfare and learning conditions.
At the weekend, I visited my family house & met children building a mosque; one of the vivid childhood memories that I have no photos of.
Ours didn’t have a speaker then, but they added that. So creative!
Now I can show my children this aspect of my childhood.

Today, I represented the First Lady of Kwara State; HE, Dr Mrs Olufolake AbdulRazaq at the Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association(IEYDA) empowerment program, in the palace.
I also attended my cousin's wedding, and was happy to spend the time with family members. Fun!
I needed to be inspired from outside of my comfort zone this morning & I got it.
My meetings were held outside of the office setting, including the Mgt meeting; usually held to clarify issues, create alignment, set new directions & plan for the week.
The nice weather was a plus😊
Council members of Kwara State University, Kwara Poly & IVTEC were inaugurated today. I congratulated them & urged them to ensure best practices & standards that will make our institutions, a model for the management & administration of tertiary institutions in Nigeria
