Yes I was tempted to fight too, but I wanted to know where he got these views from. Its clearly not from being a SW nor ever having spoken to one.
It's so much easier to put sex workers in the victim box & "over there" rather than start a discussion about how we may not be
Day 1.
We've already had fantastic feedback from people who have seen our ads or heard the controversy!
"You can really feel the emotion through people's stories"

Another year over!
Had some wonderful conversations with people at the gallery today.
MASSIVE shout out to all those who helped mind the gallery over the last 16 days. I couldn't have pulled SWoA off without you! 🙏
For those who like numbers (like me);
We had a total of 965 visitors into the SWoA 2021 Exhibition. This does not count those people who walked in and walked straight back out.
We received 189 feedback forms, mostly neutral or positive comments.
SURPRISE!
SWoA will now be held in JUNE not July!
Eeeeek! A little less time but we've got this!
Entry forms are now open at - these are due April 14th
Completed artworks due May 12th
Retweet! Tag an artsy SW! And let's do this!

Don't leave it to the last minute! Start creating now!
Currently making a NZPC/$ex Work collage for SWoA.
I made this one last year, and even though it wasn't an artwork for sale, someone bought it 🤣 the funds went back into SWoA.
Viewers seemed to enjoy learning more about the

Today SWoA and the
@depotartspace
had its first suggestively negative comment about the exhibition, to quote, that the show is "normalising prostitution" and said person seemed to want to know how his fellow Devonport Residences felt about such art in their neighbourhood!

Interestingly though, only now is he bringing the kids into it to make me look like the bad guy.
Like why didn't he just say "we teach young kids here and I'm not sure its appropriate" instead of choosing to tell me I'm perpetuating slavery?

- Madonna or the Whore
"The Madonna-Whore complex is emphasised in and around the sex industry, where men routinely choose through their actions, words and their dollar which women will play what role in their false dichotomy."

The opening nights of SWoA are always so special.
When we first launched SWoA having an opening night was just 'what you did with an exhibition'.
When people came up to me afterwards & said how much fun they had being with their peers & being able to relax, I knew it was more
We had 111 people through today!!
