It is with heavy hearts that we share the funeral arrangements for our beloved teacher, colleague, and friend Mr. Jared Holder who passed away on Friday, Feb.8.
Thank you to the many students, alumni, & friends of St. Malachy’s for your love and support.
Congratulations
@TeamBazza
on your new role as Principal of
@RothesayHigh
!
We know how lucky RHS is, and how fortunate we have been to share the past decade with you.
For all you have done for us - past, present, and yes, even future members of our Saints Family - thank you. ❤️
572 days.
When we welcome our newest members tomorrow, it will have been 572 days since a full class has walked these halls.
It’s exciting, and a little scary.
But like so many things we do, we won’t be alone. We’ll be with family.
See you soon, Class of 2025. All of you.
Congratulations to STM Alum Jackson Weir!
@jacksonweir4

It is with a heavy heart that we share that Elijah Dollar passed away on July 2, 2020.
Elijah fought valiantly against a rare form of cancer and taught those of us able to witness his fight how to live each day to its fullest.
@SJHighSchool
should be proud of their hounds who opened tonight’s game with a tap each to Elijah’s goalie pads.
@STM_Super_Saint
are always grateful to have great rivals but even better friends.
@LoriWall_4
(wish the video was longer but we were too busy taking it all in!)
The Student Council from SJHS presented the Student Council from St. Mac’s with a memorial jersey and coaching shirt in memory of Mr. Holder today. We wanted to honour him in a way that represented both of our schools. ♥️🏀
@SJHighSchool
A lot has changed in four years.
These hallways were filled with nervous Grade 9s nearly four years ago. They’ve been empty, and they’ve been half-full.
But tonight, you’ll walk the hallowed halls of St. Malachy’s one last time, together.
Class of 2022, you made it.
As another year ends, we want to wish a “Happy Retirement” to two members of our St. Malachy’s Family.
Mr. Marc Gaudet (left) & Mrs. Mary O’Hara have each spent 3 decades on staff at STM.
The impact they have made on the school & those who’ve entered it will not be forgotten.
Huge Congrats to our VG BBall Team. 77-67 win over Fredericton High! South/West Champs!

We had a special delivery from the
@ASD_South
Director of Schools, with two B Contracts for STM teachers.
Congratulations to Mrs. Lanigan & Mr. MacTavish!
These stairs.
You first posed on these stairs 1387 days ago. You were young, nervous & found strength in being together.
This time, you’ll pose alone. You’ll be strengthened not by anonymity in a crowd, but by the support of a family – a family that’s so very proud of you.
The last grads just finished the long walk down Leinster! We’ve never had a graduation like it! Two days of sunshine, cheers, proud parents and families to send grads on their way! Congratulations to the Class of 2020. We’ll always be

to call you Saints!!

At St. Malachy’s, there are always games to win, just as there are rivalries - steeped in decades of tradition - that challenge us.
But our most important tradition - that St. Malachy’s Memorial High School is home to a family - always comes out on top.
Congratulations, Samuel Parent!
Samuel has been awarded the following scholarships to
@McMasterU
:
- Summer Research Award ($6000+)
- SHAD Alumni Scholarship ($5000)
- President's Award ($2500)
He will be enrolled in the Engineering Co-Op program.
You will soon approach these steps for the last time as students.
You could say it’s been a strange end to your time in high school. We’d agree.
But one thing doesn’t end this week – you’ll always be a part of the St. Malachy’s Family.
Be proud of your accomplishments. We are.
Congratulations, Stephen White!
Stephen is the recipient of a
@SchulichLeaders
scholarship valued at $80,000! He will be attending
@UNBFredericton
for their Bachelor of Computer Science program.
This year’s First Day will look different.
All four of them.
But our masks won’t hide our smiling eyes & appropriate physical distancing won’t prevent us from welcoming the newest members of our Saints Family.
We can’t wait to see you today, or the next day, or the next...
As the final bus drives away, the longest ever First Day of School comes to an end.
Thank you to the students & families who have been so helpful & understanding as we’ve moved back into the hallowed halls of St. Malachy’s.
We’ve missed you, and we’re glad to be home. Together.
Today was a special day at St. Malachy’s.
We celebrated the launch of our annual STM Reads with the distrubtion of Gord Downie & Jeff Lemire’s “Secret Path”. We also hosted an Action Day on Indigenous Perspectives and Residential Schools.
Graduation is well underway at St. Malachy's! We're seeing lots of red and white, cheers from teachers, EAs, and staff, proud parents, and happy grads! Leinster St. has never looked better!

Another successful Picnic In The Park! Thanks to everyone who helped made this annual tradition so memorable.
However, we do still have a few things to work on - like posing for photos. 😂
Our hallways might be empty, but our hearts are full.
We're proud of how our Saints Family has adapted to this week, and we're happy to have so many reminders of how our Family extends beyond these halls. (Meeting all of the pets was a nice treat, too!)
On behalf of our SRC: Hounds, we’ll be doing a collection tomorrow in E BLOCK for the fund established for the children of the late Jared Holder (class of 2005, St Malachy’s teacher). Please support if you can, when you see our SRC tomorrow afternoon.

Please enjoy a few of our favourite moments from our last day with some great people.
