On Friday, Sept. 6, 2024, SLOPD will conduct a driving under the influence (DUI) Checkpoint from 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. in the 500 block of Higuera. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints are to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off the road.
CSOs Meggs and Corsaw attended the Women Leaders in Law Enforcement (WLLE) conference this week in Anaheim! WLLE is held annually and provides a great opportunity for civilian and sworn staff training and networking.
Just before 1pm, a single car collided with a house near the corner of Islay and Osos Streets. DUI is not suspected, the cause of the crash is under investigation. The driver was treated for minor injuries and the passenger was not injured.
On 8/30/24, we hosted a motorcycle training day down at the Allan Hancock Academy. This training included range & a variety of driving skills instruction. Thanks to Santa Clara PD, Morro Bay PD, Pismo Beach PD, Santa Maria PD and Santa Barbara Co. Sheriff's Office for attending!
Just after 10pm on Wednesday night, we received a report of a fire on the 600 block of Chorro, on the shoulder of the northbound 101.

🚌 SLO Transit will begin its Academic Service Schedule on Monday, September 16. That means longer weekday service hours and the return of the 6 Express, which runs directly from Cal Poly's campus to the Farmers Market downtown every Thursday in the fall.
