For the 1st time in 14 years, Sacred Heart University will have an NCAA qualifier!!!!! Congratulations Nick Palumbo!!!!!
If you build it, they will come!!!!!
Nick Palumbo beating Parker Kropman, a 2X NCAA Qualifier to become an EIWA finalist last night!!
Nick was a 7th seed and made the finals!! It doesn’t matter what you’re seeded in the postseason, anything can happen!!
The NCAA Tournament starts in 19 days!!
The bond between a student-athlete and coach is so strong!! There’s countless hours of training for this moment in time to become an NCAA qualifier!!
Joe Accousti makes it 2 NCAA qualifiers for Sacred Heart University this year and will be competing in St. Louis in 18 days!!
Best of luck to Nick Palumbo and Joe Accousti at the
@ncaawrestling
tournament!!
For the first time in 14 years,
@sacredheartuniv
will have a qualifier at the
@NCAA
Tournament!!
Adding another Big 10 Conference transfer to our roster!!!
Felix Lettini was a starter for the University of Wisconsin last year and was ranked 13th in the country as a Senior in HS!!!
Felix was also a NJ Placer, 3X State Qualifier and a Super 32 Placer!!!
We as a program will take ALL precautions to never cancel a dual meet!! We have never and will never cancel a dual meet!!
This requires a lot of work and sometimes makeshift line-up’s but we don’t believe in taking opportunities away for the STUDENT-ATHLETES to compete!!
For the 1st time in history of Sacred Heart University Wrestling, we have a full staff!!
We will also be starting a Regional Training Center (RTC) in April!!
If you build it, they will come!!
Sacred Heart University Application:
Thank you to the NCAA, school administrators and student-athletes across the country for allowing this season to happen!!
We return 6 EIWA Placers, 2 NCAA Qualifiers and 40 student-athletes!! The future is bright and can’t wait to see what the student-athletes can accomplish!!
Congratulations to Nick Fierro for getting another 4.0 this semester!! Nick has taken 38 classes here at Sacred Heart University and has got an A in all 38 classes!!
Our team had 30 STUDENT-ATHLETES above a 3.0 this semester!! We had 4 STUDENT-ATHLETES get a perfect 4.0!!
New photos went up in the office!!
Congratulations to Nick and Joe for being the first 2 NCAA qualifiers in 14 years for Sacred Heart University!!
If you build it, they will come!!
We have added Rutgers to schedule and will wrestle them on Saturday, November 12th!!
Our first 5 matches will be against Lehigh, Rutgers, Army, LIU and Iowa!! After that, we go to the Keystone Classic at UPenn and then travel to the Cliff Keen Invitational in Las Vegas!!
SOLD OUT!!
Our match at 5:30 PM this Saturday against Penn State has sold 1,400 tickets and is SOLD OUT!!
The match will be held on an elevated stage, just like the NCAA Finals!!
We have the largest roster in the country (51 student-athletes) on our men’s team and we want to have the largest roster in the country for any women’s team by next fall as well!!
On a wrestling mat, we have = inside the circle to start a match, let’s make it equal!!
Ran into a tough Penn State team but it didn’t stop our TEAM from supporting each other!!
We faced in the dual 4 returning NCAA Champions, 5 returning NCAA finalists, 6 returning All-Americans and we wouldn’t want it any other way. To be the best, you have to wrestle the best!!
Last night, we wrestled Iowa in a great atmosphere and won 2 matches against the
#2
team in the country!!
Today, we travel to Philadelphia to compete at the Keystone Classic at the University of Pennsylvania!!
To be the best, you have to compete against the best!!
It’s happening!!!
2 weeks from tomorrow we will be the only team in the country at the NCAA Tournament that has both a men’s and women’s Division 1 wrestling team! Hopefully that changes soon!!
Joe Accousti wrestled in the NCAA Tournament last week and is already at practice again!!
The more you wrestle, the more you want to wrestle!!
We started practice again today and won’t stop until school gets out this year!!
A big thank you to a recent alum who just gave the first Endowment Gift in the history of Sacred Heart University Wrestling Program!!
If you build it, they will come!!
Congratulations

Nick was a NJ State Champion in HS and became the first Sacred Heart University NCAA qualifier in 14 years!! Let’s go!!
We started with 16 kids in 2017 and next year, we will have 70 student-athletes on the team!!
The best part is that 2 kids that committed to us this year have a brother on our team now!! If you treat people right and with respect, they will invite and encourage others to join!!
Thank you for your service

Sacred Heart used to be a high school and became a University in 1963, with only 163 students! This year, there’s 8,543 total students and 4,982 full-time undergraduate students.
Success stories are amazing and the best years are ahead for this great institution!
We hope that after everyone saw the Olympic Trials over the weekend and seeing the growth of women’s wrestling, that more schools across the country will add women’s wrestling as a varsity sport!!
The Sacred Heart University Wrestling TEAM will be bringing a winning record into the New Year for the 1st time in school history!!
The program has raised over $26,000 in the last 6 months and the goal is to reach $50,000!! Please see the link below:

It’s going to be an exciting season!! Two years ago the team was 2-10, last year 5-7 and this year 8-6!!
Over 50 student-athletes on the team and It will be fun to see what they can accomplish!!
To date, we have had a tougher schedule than any other team across the country in all of college wrestling!!
Today, 10 student-athletes on the TEAM went to go watch their fellow teammates compete 2.5 hours away at an open tournament!!
