Fala: The safety barrier and the base layers for the carriageway were completed earlier today.
The last two layers of surfacing are being completed tonight along with road markings.
Things are on course for the A68 to reopen under traffic signals tomorrow morning.
To allow the Forth Road Bridge to be used as a diversion route for M90 traffic, emergency crossovers need to be opened to link it to the motorway on either side.
This two-minute video explains what's involved and when such a diversion might be implemented.
With heavy snow continuing to fall across South East Scotland, we'll treat all trunk routes this afternoon and overnight. 35 gritters will remain out continuously and 16 reserve vehicles and tractors are on standby for vulnerable locations. Footways to be treated too.
