This evening I did my first national live for
@itvnews
- on a horrific case but one in which the victims and families now feel they’ve got some justice.
More on the story here:
In the name of journalism I dusted off my skates for the first time in a few years… ⛸
Thrilled to report from Birmingham city centre today as the Ice Rink, Big Wheel, and Frankfurt Market return for the festive season.
@ITVCentral
A wonderful moment today - watching the Prince of Wales pick up the phone and taking a restaurant booking at the family-run Indian Streatery in Birmingham.

🚨Personal news 🚨
(I’m a sucker for a new job tweet and have always wanted to do my own)
I’m SO delighted to be joining
@ITVCentral
as a Production Journalist.
It’s an incredibly exciting patch and I can’t wait to get to get started in a few weeks. Still pinching myself!
I survived my first live on Friday for
@ITVCentral
- off the back of my report on calls to make misogyny a hate crime.
Helps to have a very calm and supportive gallery team in the ear 🙌🙌
Very chuffed to have won this Media Freedom Award. Thank you so much
@EditorsUK
- a wonderful night and and I felt so privileged to be among so many journalists I admire
Whether I’m producing or reporting, listening or storytelling, scripting or skating, working the early or late shift, running the Newsdesk or running to get to court on time… it’s safe to say moving to the Midlands for a new job exactly one year ago was SO worth it.
@itvcentral
What a joy to present our Christmas Eve Eve and Christmas Eve bulletins this weekend. With obligatory pics by the
@ITVCentral
Xmas tree of course. Merry Christmas all 🎄
I’ve worked in TV for a year now, but setting up a live interview between Jeremy Vine and a painting pig in South Africa has to be among my proudest work
In my 16 months at
@ITVCentral
I’ve learnt SO much from broadcasting legend
@BobWarmanITV
.
After his 49 years in the business, I feel privileged to be here for his last day 🎉

Your producer/presenter duo for
@gmb

Working the early shift with your housemate has the following benefits:
🔸lift share
🔸wardrobe share (that’s my dress)
🔸moral support for 4am alarm
I’m back with your lunchtime news at 13:55.
It might be bitterly cold in Birmingham, but I’ve been out with
@nationaltrust

All aboard the Number 11 Blossom Bus on

at 6pm.
I spent my morning googling pics of St Martin’s Church and the Birmingham Bullring to see which angle Britney Spears chose for her sketch… I think I’ve found the one
Last night women in Birmingham told me of their experiences of harassment and catcalling.
Every woman had a story to tell, as there are renewed calls to make misogyny a hate crime.
My full report on
@ITVCentral

I’m backkkkk!
It’s been 5 months since my last news bulletin - when I reported on the first 100 coronavirus cases in the UK...
A lot has happened since then 👀
So incredibly honoured! I dedicated this award to the incredible

They say never meet your heroes, but I’ve just spent the last few days in Sarajevo with them for
@ITVCentral
- as Torvill & Dean announce retirement 40 years after winning Olympic gold.
They inspired me to pick up skating in 2006, other journos here have similar stories! ⛸️
It’s me with your

tonight.
Viking the Australian Shepherd from Solihull lives walking distance away from the NEC - where he beat 24,000 other dogs to the top prize of Best in Show 🏆
Two days, two studio segments, across two programmes on
@ITVCentral
. Felt passionate about breaking down some of the reasons why women feel unsafe, and why it’s important
#IWD
is a moment to recognise this
I’m thinking of Sarah Everard, I’m thinking of her family and friends, and I’m thinking about every woman that’s going to feel scared to do something as normal as walking home - knowing that even a policeman could be a dangerous encounter
Anyone else feeling drained after a wild night of big news?
Fuelled by coffee as I try make sense of it all as News Editor for
@ITVCentral

We’ll keep you updated with any more midlands MP resignations … and I reckon PMQs could be more intense than Love Island’s Casa Amor?
Today I met the little girl photographed giving flowers to the Queen during her last official visit to Birmingham in 2015.
Taahlia, now 11, says she still remembers Her Majesty's beaming smile.
Join me for that and more stories on

The England men’s team have given us so much excitement and joy these past few weeks, at a time we needed it most. Their success also gave me my first chance to report for
@ITVCentral
ahead of the quarter final. So I’m proud and thankful in more ways than one ❤️🏴

Two selfies just a few days apart. The
@ITVCentral

See you on

Tonight on
@ITVCentral
- I visit Birmingham’s back-to-backs as records from the 1921 census have been released to allow people to trace their own family history.
Jan Daniells grew up in these cramped conditions, but has now traced generations of ancestors here too. More at 6.
A snippet of my live tonight about how proud Brummies reacted to the city being called ‘Godawful’.
Or you could call it a love letter to the city I now call home 🏡 🌆

I have barely explored the new patch since moving to Birmingham in lockdown, but today I have finally made a start on the Midlands bucket-list.
First stop: Shakespeare’s birthplace 🎭 ✔️

I’m on hols in Mozambique and just met the most ICONIC horse.
Ovambo escaped the Zimbabwe farm invasions over 20 yrs ago by *blending in with a herd of zebras* 🦓
After 5 yrs as a ‘zebra’ he was rescued and brought to Buengerra Island where he enjoys playing in the sea and sand
Just checked my camera roll from May 2020. The same weekend as the Downing Street drinks I met up with my boyfriend of 7 years for the first time in 3 months. Outdoors, for a walk, 2 metres apart.
It was so strange and very depressing. Kind of wish we’d hugged now
@jordannorth1
That Corrie episode scarred me but also thrilled me as a kid. I used to play as Richard at the swimming pool and ‘drove’ all my friends into the water. Then they had to save themselves (not forgetting Bethany in the baby seat). None of them watched Corrie, they were so confused
First time wearing sequins while reporting today… but trying to fit in with the glitz of the Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour 🪩 🕺🏼
I catch up with stars of the show ahead of tomorrow’s performance in Birmingham. Then it heads to Nottingham next week. More on

It was a joy to take a look back at the community created by the Cadbury brothers in Bournville - as the chocolate brand marks 200 years.

Good morning from the

Goodbye Watford John Lewis.
Fond childhood memories of choosing a new Xmas bauble every year / deliberately hiding from Mum in toy section / getting told off for wearing Heelys / turning up to embarrass friends on their Saturday shifts / spending all my savings on pink ipod nano
On the tarmac at Birmingham Airport where the first flight (in 3 years) from Doha has touched down.
It’s the 3rd new airline to join the airport in just a week - linking the region to the Middle East, and bringing a boost to the local economy.

Always feel so idle when WFH so made an impulse desk purchase 🚲
Turns out when I type fast I also cycle fast and need to take a water break after each email
So honoured to be shortlisted for the
@MindCharity
Media Awards with
@anna_tetlow
for our

film. We met so many dads along the way who are doing a great job and not afraid to ask for help - I hope the conversation around men's mental health continues to open up
Being a journalist covering the Queens Baton Relay means frantically running ahead of it just to get a glimpse and then trying to get a one-take PTC while catching your breath…
But also it’s so special to be a part of, one day before
#Birmingham2022
officially starts ✨🏅
'I feel like a human being again'
A Syrian migrant who fled death and discrimination for being gay says settling in the UK 'saved his life'.
But George claims the government and society must do more to welcome migrants who want to contribute to their new home.
A sad sight to come home to: enough essentials to last me two weeks as my housemates self-isolate inside and I can’t really afford to join them...
I haven’t been exposed to them for 7 days, but they got symptoms this morning. As a freelancer I’m determined to keep virus-free!
It’s taken 15 months, 2x double vaccinations (them), and a couple of lateral flow tests (me), to finally feel safe enough to visit my 93-year-old Grandpa and his lovely Pauline ❤️
Still outdoors and no hugs as a precaution, but so worth it!
Obsessed with our bus for the Commonwealth Games. A new live location every day from communities and venues across the West Midlands as Birmingham shines on the world stage 🤩
Big up to the team working so hard on this 👏
@ITVCentral
So yesterday was a birthday I will never forget 🇬🇧 It meant so much to be able to spend the day in London paying my own respects to Queen Elizabeth II - after an extraordinary and busy week working in news.
It was a joy to sit down with Anthony Madu for
@ITVCentral
.
He’s the viral ballet dancer who is the star of a new Disney+ documentary all about his extraordinary journey from Nigeria to Birmingham.
You can also catch our interview on National

At the beginning of 2019 I was super anxious about whether I’d made the right career choice because I couldn’t even get a few days work experience. Bring on 2020, working three dream jobs and loving every single day 🎉🎉🎉

They’ve raised £1 million in 6 months. Star guest is 13yo brain surgery patient Freya, who wants to help others going through the same treatment.

900 Ukrainians have made Staffordshire their home since the Russian invasion one year ago.
