today some memories that i had been suppressing up until this point resurfaced.
whilst the quoted thread is filled with examples of abusive behaviour, the memory thats come back is something too serious to leave as just a footnote in a list.
in 2021 Riley sexually assaulted me.
I've been quiet about this for seven years, but I can't leave it unspoken. My ex @/citrussegment was a toxic, abusive partner.
Here is a (non-exhaustive) thread of some of the fucked up things he did to me.
Necessary follow up post is that Vaush WAS being misogynistic in that tweet, but the harm he caused by doing that is virtually negligible compared to the harm JK Rowling has causes in a single minute she exists as a public figure.
I'm blocking people who argue in bad faith. It's pointless to actually respond to someone who I already know doesn't actually care about what the response says.
@TobiasDuh
more nb and trans people exist now because more people are aware we exist. that isn't a trend, that's the Internet making it more accessible information. and even if it was, what right do you have to decide what identity is valid or not based on that?
@SocDoneLeft
uuwaaaa~ OmO i-i let my boifwendu do a cummy cum in my boipucccwie~!!! and he didn't wear a boicondom O////O a-a-am i gonna get boipreggers now?? 3: i is too young to be a boimother! >///< c-c-can i getsies a boibortion? uwu c-can i pay my boinecologist with my boipucccwie-wucie?
assuming other people are doing it for a trend is worse. even if theyare doing it as a" trend" or for attention surely that still implies they need help?
@Jackyboynumbers
@SocDoneLeft
he lost the election and was appointed as chancellor. whilst germany was still a democracy when he was appointed, his appointment was not democratic.
@DreamLeaf5
the british far right have a weird thing where they like the appearance of progressivism in general, lonerbox's old video on racism talks about it. makes sense they'd apply the same strategies with transphobia.
@drageben2
There are a bunch of different definitions, but the most common one is a biromantic homsexual or a bisexual homoromantic woman. It's also used to mean a lesbian who is also comfortable being with some non-binary people
Also, that doesn't negate the harm done to people who don't have the context to realise it's a joke.
With all that said, who does more harm, the most influential transphobe in the world, or some lefty streamer who's said some dumb things? Seems obvious to me.
I'm pretty excited to see Vaush debate Tim Pool. Vaush has his problems, but he's generally pretty good at debate and is more than capable of embarrassing someone like Tim.
@Th0risy
Yeah, that's usually what they'll say and personally I think that's a weak argument because language changes over time, like any other social construct
This seems to be getting a couple likes, so let's talk about something more important, but somewhat related. The US anti-lgbt (in particular, anti-trans) bills recently are REALLY fucked up, and you should look into it if you haven't and do what you can to help people hurt by it.
Fun reminder that I support
-Neopronouns
-He/him lesbians
-Bi lesbians
-Asexual people and other non-allo people being seen as LGBT
-Polyamory
And if you don't agree with any of these things, kindly block me.
@TobiasDuh
"Trend" has a history of being used to demean lgbt+ people. It's an incredibly poor word to use to describe a worldwide progression of our understanding of gender. It's just the "their only doing it for attention" thing in different clothes.
I think it'd be neat to focus on actual issues facing trans people instead of dumb online drama, especially at a time like this. If you're really anti-TERF and pro-trans, nows the time to show it.
