Of course, this also works the other way around too. Clubs get relegated from the Premier League, come to the Championship, rebuild, usually go back up but then struggle to compete in the Premier League. No idea how it changes, but it’s not doing much for competition.

Last night, our style of play alienated Tronstad. Goal kicks taken long, defence hoofing it upfield, meant he only had the ball if he won it back or made a quick pass. He’s our best on-the-ball player, we can’t lose that technical ability and creativity from our game. #Rovers

@abcam7 The gap between Championship and Premier League is widening, especially when even the “smaller teams” like Bournemouth and Brighton can now spend enormous amounts. Every season there seems to be 3 Premier League teams in the Championship, which is why they often go back up.

Nice to have actual, game effecting strikers for a change. Strikers where their best asset isn’t their defensive contribution. These two have filled me with more optimism in 3 games than Gallagher did in his last 3 seasons. Just need to get Gueye a couple more goals. #Rovers

I hate posts like this. How are they calling him a genius when he has a Premier League Squad in the Championship? Burnley last season were absolutely unplayable in the Championship, Kompany was a ‘genius’. Now he’s been tested, I’m no longer seeing him described as a genius.

What’s going on with refs at Ewood? Every week, every 50/50 goes against us, every strong tackle we make is a foul and opponents time wasting goes unpunished. Amount of times there’s a good tackle, the player falls over and it’s given as a foul, it encourages diving. #Rovers

Gallagher is a prime example of the injured player syndrome at our club. When he’s not playing he’s brilliant and we dearly miss him, when he does play he runs around aimlessly and offers maybe a goal every 5-6 games. It’ll be the same when Travis comes back. #Rovers

I admire the leadership qualities that McFadzean brings to the team, talking all game, he could really help some of the younger lads around him, O’Riordan for example. Keep him on for as many seasons as we can get from him then get him involved in our youth setup. #Rovers

We actually didn’t sign anyone on deadline day. We signed a Liverpool U21s player who apparently is nowhere near good enough for this level. John Fleck who is probably going to be a sick note. Then there’s the signing never was. What a mess 🥲 #Rovers
