@AyannaPressley
Thank you for this tweet.
Olivia liked to say grace for her family and was a great older sister. Chase had already tried his hand at a mini-triathalon. Daniel’s parents said he had earned his ripped jeans and missing front teeth.
Thanks for keeping their names alive.
@psa10memes
The first one shows some galaxies that are 13.5 billion light years away, so your point is even stronger than you know.
We can now see almost to the beginning of time, even though we can’t quite focus on the gas station counter.
Ahmed Juma, 7, who is in the blue coat, got a
@LowellPD
escort as he returned to the Murkland Elementary in Lowell this morning after being out of school since November since he's battling brain cancer.
@LowellFireDept
was also on hand to welcome him back.
Lowell just got a call reporting a man "on the ground rolling around and screaming" near South and Appleton streets. Which, honestly, probably isn't even all that weird considering the location.
They took me and saved me when I was 18 months old and my parents didn’t want me. Now they’ve been married 75 years.
Here’s to my grandparents, Robert and Harriet Mills. The whole entire reason my life has been blessed.
Been covering police and the fire service since 1999, but woke up this morning, grabbed my coffee, and was once again floored by the way first responders grab their tools and run toward the very worst moments of injury, danger and chaos.
Thank you first responders, yet again.
If you’ve ever thought taking your own life was the right move for you, please tell least one other person.
You might find you’re not as alone as you think.
I’m still glad I changed my mind. Seven years later and all I think now is how awful it would have been to quit then.
It wasn’t all good news and pretty pictures, but thank you for trusting me with so very much for almost 20 years,
#Lowell
.
I love this crazy, historic, creative, diverse, unbeatable city, and the people who define it.
@TexasTribune
How recently did he retire? Will there be additional judicial review of every criminal conviction he ever played a role in?
Probably not the first time he imagined a crime and then went searching for evidence. Old dogs don't learn new tricks.
Not big on putting the family on Twitter, but dang it these kids are too cute not to show off sometimes.
Also possibly the first time I’ve ever gotten all three of em to smile at the same time.
Dracut PD heading to Pine Valley Drive for a report of "about 20 kids playing tag outside, running all over and causing a disruption."
...when you play tag so hard the cops show up. I approve, Dracut.
First day not being a reporter since I was 21 years old. I’m gonna go camping.
I have much to say to many who have tweeted at me, but only after I have a campsite setup.
I’ll be starting a month of vacation today a few days early. IT’S BABYTIME! Next time I’m back in Lowell it should be with twins. HOLY CRAP! Please contact news
@lowellsun
.com if you need anything while I’m juggling kids. See ya’ll in a month 👦🏻👦🏻

I’m all for common sense gun laws and a hefty background check requirement, but I took my first firearms safety course in my elementary school cafeteria, and all it did was teach me to respect firearms. Age is not the important factor here. Education and background checks are.
Fighting with my anxiety a lot again lately.
Exercise and staying busy not working as well as usual, so working with my doctor to deal with it.
If you’re in the same boat as me, please remember you’re not alone, and that you shouldn’t tackle this without help.
I’ll go to my grave treasuring Tuesday because a city I love honored me, and because a masked Lucas addressed the City Council by microphone, and because the City Council wished Charlotte happy birthday in open session.
Thank you

@MayorofLowell
So,
@BernieSanders
took what sounds like a leisurely stroll down Merrimack Street this afternoon. Didn't make much of a ruckus from what I hear, which is kinda neat.
@emveedeeaych
scored a great pic with Bernie and his kids, though.
Not gonna share address or town, but a local fire department currently responding to a call from a woman who is concerned because she just took her first dose of medical marijuana, and now she’s “feeling funny.”
Used my vacation to achieve the impossible: getting all three demons to nap with me at the same time.
I was way too smug about this achievement to not ask Mom to get a pic 💆🏻♂️
C'mon Lowell, we're better than this. I thought we were done with this s***. Yet another family crushed because someone didn't realize how stupid violence is.
Saw an off-duty Lowell police officer at Espresso earlier. He recognized me despite the bandana on my face.
My dream of robbing banks to get through the pandemic has died.
I love how I make an inspiring tweet about what an incredible community we have in Lowell, and then someone takes a crap on a bridge just to remind us that Lowell can’t really be overly gentrified.
Always pleased that
#Lowell
is a city where a guy can put his hazards on, stop in the middle of an alley, and then climb onto the top of his minivan to take pictures without anyone being alarmed.
Please allow me to express my thanks with photographs.
If you're the person that stole a bike from the poor soul who just finished their shift at Market Basket on Wood Street, I hope you sit on a cactus.
Imagine working a Saturday night, finally getting out, and then getting hit with that realization?
This is - or at least should be - small news compared to all else that has happened at
@LowellSunNews
this week, but I gave my two-week notice on Tuesday and will tell my last stories for The Sun on July 28.
It's hard to think of what to say sometimes.
I've been doing this job for over two decades and no one in all that time taught me as much as Kris Pisarik.
@kplowellsun
Not even this excessive journalist has the words to give him all the credit he deserves, and yet never sought.
I grew up in and spent my life in places that were not at all diverse, and ever since then I've lived in or near Lowell, one of the most diverse places in America.
I've spent years experiencing the fact that Lowell is stronger, smarter, and better informed because of diversity.
Well over 100 people came to a vigil against Asian hate tonight in Lowell’s Cambodiatown neighborhood.
I’ll have a story later, but I want to post a thread of images and just amplify a few speakers’ voices first here tonight.

The police walk through at Officer Katie Thyne’s wake.
Thanks to Katie’s family, this week I learned the story of a girl who made her dream happen, who grew up to be a veteran, mother and officer, and who died doing what she believed in.
I’ll tell my daughter about her someday.
There’s been a lot of awful news since I started reporting a little again, so let’s all take a break and appreciate that Charli is now taking tae kwon do.
She can already kick all of our butts.
Happy seasonal depression season!
I’ve actually been feeling good lately. Woke up in a good mood. Just wanna remind anyone who woke up in the pits instead that there will be be better days eventually.
Please hang in there. None of us are alone in these types of struggles.
Hey so if anyone wants to get me a birthday present, go say hi to that awkward and quiet person you bump into occasionally. Maybe tell em you think think they seem cool.
Do something small for someone who can’t ever pay you back. It might make their day more than you think.
Thinking of the trauma the first responders in Duxbury had to face at that scene last night as they did their best to help.
Let’s never ignore the sights, risks and mental trauma our first responders take on for us, and let us always ensure they have resources to help.
I'm off today but everywhere I go on social media, still seeing videos of Adrian Kimborowicz singing and making people laugh.
Still see Cole Kinney often too, often from the same group of people. Anyway, just an observation. Lowell really remembers it's friends.
I've spent most of my career trying to get my stories to reach young people and make them realize they shouldn't reach for guns to solve disputes, so I'm heartbroken to report right now that Adrian Kimborowicz, 20, of Lowell, died last night of gunshot wounds suffered on Sept. 26
We've confirmed that the body of Moses Harris, 25, who has been missing from Lowell since Dec. 19, was found in the Merrimack River in Andover this afternoon.
@aselahcurtis
working on a story.
So much sad news tonight. Wish everything wasn't turning out for the worst.
My boys are 4 and I’m heartbroken and not even sure what to say. If anyone hears of efforts to support the families please tag me so I can help amplify.
Fallen Newport News, Virginia police Officer Katie Thyne was a veteran, mother, and local native. She will be buried in Lowell next to her father.
Hope she always remains an example of resilience, sacrifice, and smiling despite anything.

Lowell heading to Stevens Street for a report of a woman in the doorway of an apartment building "drinking nips and eating food making a mess." Described as a white girl wearing a bandana.

Capt. Kennedy of
@LowellPD
now having an officer get 15 bags of ice “for the survival of the animal” from
@MarketBasket
in Lowell.
Of course MB would end up playing a role in this. Wouldn’t be Lowell otherwise.
Lowell PD current searching for a guy in “furry boots,” who should “have taser wires still hanging off of him” since he eluded officers earlier today, per radio broadcasts.
Sounds like quite the Lowellian.
Anyway, I’m off work till Thursday cause I’m turning 42 tomorrow.
My beard is turning gray, my neck kinda hurts, and I’m destined to spend my entire life poor, but at least I didn’t manage to set myself on fire yet.
Hope you all have a good week.
If our lungs or hearts or livers or kidneys or even our gallbladders don’t work right, everyone admits we have an illness and need medical help.
But if our brains — the most powerful and important organ in our bodies — doesn’t work right, people say we should just suck it up.
Christian "C-Mello" Lemay, 18, of Dracut; and Braedyn Baraby, 16, of Lowell, both charged with murder today in connection with the death of Adrian Kimborowicz, 20.
@StefanGeller
is already in court and I'm writing an update story now since
@DAMarianRyan
just announced charges.
Starting tomorrow Lowell will be home to the state's first free, rapid-result COVID-19 testing site, with results available in about 15 minutes as you wait in your vehicle.

More details here:
Just want to say in public that the last couple weeks have beaten the crap out of me. I've struggled with mental health, parenting, journalism, and just finding peace and a little time to think. My birthday was annoying.
If you're struggling too, it's okay. Many of us are.
Heartbroken this evening and not even sure what to tweet. Thinking of a family and all the first responders and people who did their best to search.
May our community continue to stand by this family as best we can.
Ana Rafael Cruz, 26, has lived in Lowell since she was 8 years old, she's a

graduate,

student, wife, homeowner... and no longer welcome in this country, according to our government.
#DACA
Haven't been tweeting about my mental health lately cause it's been crap and I don't like tweeting when I'm struggling, but here's a shoutout to everyone else out there who's struggling too.
Good luck finding peace.
Not the most important news a
@LowellSunNews
reporter will share today, but I spent some time shooting tonight cause I figured we could all use a little more beauty in our lives.
I chickened out and went to Hannaford instead of MB. Didn’t have enough coffee to face MB. I am a wimp.
Bread aisle forecast is dire. Luckily coffee was still fully stocked. Ya’ll have weird priorities.
PSA: Please make sure your 8-year-old doesn’t forget to add water while making herself instant Mac.
Heavy smoke has been vented. Overhaul complete. Companies picked up and clearing the scene.
Also just a reminder that it’s only elderly and immuno-compromised people who should be stocking up on stuff right now.
If you’re healthy and hoarding right now, you’re endangering more vulnerable people. Please stop and be patient. We’re all in this together.
Dracut PD reports making contact with an "extremely polite" group of kids who were "playing manhunt." They're gonna call it a night and let Pine Valley Drive get some rest.
In the meantime, youngsters, I salute you. Hope ya got your man.
For those who saw the at least 30 people who stood in the rain outside Dracut Town Meeting tonight, they were there because
@DracutHS
let 2 students print "free Mello" in the 2021 yearbook, even though "Mello" is accused of shooting a 20-year-old Lowell man in the chest Sept. 26.
I really enjoyed two weeks without work, but on Monday I started my new job at
@GuilfoilPR
, and I'm happy to say I love it so far.
This night owl was smiling at 9am today since we got to highlight our clients Burlington Police teaching kids bike and bus safety at the mall.
I don’t mean to suggest there’s a silver lining to coronavirus, but now I have the power to disable our paywall on stories when the senior editor approves.
Our main coronavirus updates will not be paywalled from here on out.
Please wash your hands and marvel at my powers.
Oh and, just for the record, I want to be buried with my hard copy of this when the time comes.
@CityofLowellMA
I’m still just a Pennsylvanian blow-in, but no recognition is better than recognition from the place that you call home.
Thank you.
