Hey #Wellington , spoke to senior police officer in Wgtn. Asked what locals should do if they wanted to support police. Said small gifts of food/snacks dropped off are great for morale. Chuck a friendly note in I say, & maybe go for sealed stuff so they don’t worry about sabotage

My Polynesian neighbour, who’s not that well, when I said last week “surely you’re vaxed?”indicated he was relying on his faith, and I gave him a stern 👀, just proudly showed me he’d got his first Covid vax. He has a big whanau, and is much loved. I’m so happy

Sad news 😢. Unexpectedly had to put down #SwissArmyKnifeDog last week. Kate’s been my constant sidekick & much loved versatile dog. She was felled at 9yrs by an aggressive tumour. The last 2 days she talked constantly & we made sure she got a good send off. I’m heartbroken /1

Incredible. Sailing along the world’s current largest iceberg #A23a . 3900km2, up to 400m thick, 40NM long. Carved from the Filchner ice shelf in ‘86, finally escaped the Weddell sea & now careering north to break up. Defies comprehension at the human scale

I work on ships occasionally in the Southern Ocean. Captains are given utmost respect regardless of yr views bc of their responsibility, & for good reason. Contrast w total lack of respect & nasty personal abuse our PM gets. Disagree 💯, but cut the abuse, it’s 💯 bullshit

Sick of lack of perspective on our incredible covid success. Border has held, its learn as you go & it looks like good learning is happening & it’s a massive logistic. Woodhouse has no skin in the game, doesn’t do any work or hv to solve anything, just throws stones & stirs shit

Nuts tonight. Got an emergency call from a neighbour to knock their rabbit population down. 43 rabbits in an hour in 5acres. Never seen anything like this in Wellington before

Just found out all govt depts have been told to try & pay invoices within 10 days to help us. This is fantastic & indicates the level of real detail in helping. Never seen this before. Important for #SMEs
