Covid is literally a BSL-3 pathogen. In the same strata as The Plague, Anthrax, West Nile, Yellow Fever, and Tuberculosis. It is known to cause cognitive and organ damage, and long term health issues. No science supports treating Covid like the common cold.

@dgurdasani1 China is making massive investments in their country while protecting their labor force from long-term disabilities. The west fails to make proper investments in the last decades while letting a virus freely cripple their labor force. seems pretty evident to me what will happen

@atrupar Gen X here. It is strange to live in a world where world war is the least of our troubles. We live a world of mass death & disability, orphans, a sick labor force, heading to neg. pop. growth, broken HC & safety nets, rampant inequality. The Cold War looks good right now.

@erinwatsonlynn If you aren't aware. Long Covid can occur in the vaccinated and "mild" or asymptotic cases. If lucky enough for a "full recovery", it still puts you at risk for arterial plaque, greater chances of heart issues, strokes, early onset dementia, diabetes, & more. Not a drill.

@DrLindaMD I was afraid of this when we normalized mass death and adopted a "back to normal" with a let it rip approach. Was only a matter of time until we started to treat Covid = common cold. More & more people will go to work and school sick with Covid without a blink of the eye.

@Yash25571056 We are still learning, but the science and data is loudly screaming that you don’t want to catch Covid. And if you catch it, you don’t wanna catch up multiple times.

@POTUS Back to work with no protective measures, no paid sick or family time, no funding, and over a million people out of the labor force with Long Covid. This is appalling. We are going to kill & cripple the labor force with this approach. Shocking that our health means so little.

@JuliaRaifman This was an opportunity to reinvent ourselves and do better. Instead, we rushed back to normal while giving the virus maximum opportunity to spread.

@MeetJess [Goldberg said she was shocked because she had been “triple vaxxed” and hadn’t been around anyone with the virus.] Does @POTUS , @CDCDirector , @HHSGov , @RepLloydDoggett , @RepRichardNeal , or @anyone understand that a vax only approach is HIGHLY misleading & ineffective?

@DataDrivenMD @pjhn22 At this stage, the more of them who catch it and suffer, the better the rest of us will be for it. It may be the only thing that will bring positive change. It did not have to be like this, but they need to suffer so they can start developing empathy for those they serve.

@amandalhu I love the flexibility. It also helps with carbon emissions and global warming, while putting money into working class households with extra gas money. It really is a winning strategy on multiple levels that Democrats could have embraced.
