So if the Govt. Are so intent on #NetZero , why are all the new builds designed without solar PV? Every one of them should be designed with a 4kW array, air source heat pump battery back up and EV charger. Yet they sanction thousands of hectares of solar farms. 🤔

@clubhectare2211 Thank you for your kind comments. Robin died suddenly after prolonged ill health. It was a huge shock and he will be sadly missed; we now have a huge gap that can never be filled. It is a comfort to know that he was held in such a high regard and considered a friend to so many.

@EileenDucksbury Totally right Eileen. They should amend building regs to demand that south facing roof space is maximised and should incorporate solar PV. I wonder why they don’t? Back in 2013, there was an estimated 800k ha of available roof space. How much is there now?

So I am told that I need to renew my HGV Class 1 licence. All I need to do is complete and return the form, along with a recent medical and eye test (two separate appointments). £100.50 for the medical, £55.00 for the eye test……and they wonder why they can’t tempt drivers back!

@Bobhills1963 Can’t agree more. It pays for people not to work. We need to adjust the system so the those on benefits can’t abuse the payments that they receive. Why not issue food and energy tokens instead of hard cash? Total imbalance, is it a stealth vote making policy?

All go at R. T. Farms today. Amongst all the other jobs, great to see maize introduced into the rotation which will be destined for Rainworth Energy Ltd. Preparations well under way beginning with a healthy dose of liquid gold, courtesy of Prestons Contractors Ltd. Happy days! 😁

@j_macca7 I think you’ll find that the discounts are passed back to the grower with a promise to look after them when Christmas has passed. In reality, prices just return to normal without compensation for their losses. False promises and immoral practices.

EV revolution? 🤔
A typical lithium battery for an electric vehicle weighs as much as five passengers at 450kg. A staggering level of mining, refining & manufacture is needed to build an EV battery. It's horrible for the environment, given the hypocrisy over carbon dioxide & human emissions.

@cleanupbritain I have a solution. If you claim dole and are able to work, the local Government employs you to clear rubbish from the roads, rivers and other public spaces, rather than do nothing. That would encourage people back to work and benefit society at the same time.

@potter2207 That wonderful scientist was cancelled because he didn’t conform. He spoke so much sense. We need more David Bellamy’s. No one estimates the environmental damage caused when volcanoes erupt or if they did, it’s not widely publicised. Great business though, this Net Zero thing. 😐

Just watched my recording of Sunday’s Counryfile. The report on neonics sends one message. Farming needs to press the reset button. The Sugar industry in this country is finished. Focus on carbon sensitive policies and adapt. A new dawn is coming.

To suggest that there is a collusion with the retailers is totally counterproductive. Maybe you should rethink your perspective.

Greedy, arrogant, unsustainable business. Let’s tax supermarkets and support small independent retailers and rejuvenate our market town centres.

@PeteNorth303 @MattLimbImages With ‘000’s of hectares of available roof space on RDC’s and other industrial buildings. Why is it not mandatory to put PV on the roof? The same goes for new build domestic. The buyer could include the cost in their mortgage. But no, farmland is best! 🤯😐

@cleanupbritain @theresecoffey This is partly down to the fact that we don’t provide clean resting places for all the undervalued HGV drivers who we all rely on to deliver all of our goods. They have to rest, by law. Often with no decent facilities and there is little option but to do what bears do!! 🐒💩🌳

Something to do with oscillations in the earth’s trajectory due to its constant spinning, veering to and from the Sun over a 200-250 year cycle. Sounds plausible to me.

@wheat_daddy @WelshGovernment Badgers need culling. Period. It’s obvious how overpopulated they are by the number being run down on the roads. I don’t remember so many laying by the roadside when I was younger. They have no natural predators in this country, so its down to us to control them.

Surely it would be better to allow waste to be taken to recycling centres FoC, regardless of the type? That would allow for correct handling and recycling methods to be applied.
