I was a kid growing up in Ely during the last riots- poverty was high & prospects were low & we’re back there again. We’ve never properly tackled poverty here. Welsh Govt & local services can mitigate it but capacity reduced with cuts & levers to eradicate remain in Westminster

I’m not usually one to praise the Labour Party but to go from this to 54% female councillors is a remarkable achievement and contributed to Monmouthshire’s 50:50 gender balance. This does not happen naturally. It takes leadership 👏🏻👏🏻
