In HS my youth pastor abused a girl in my youth group. My dad (the lead pastor) found out. The YP was fired and reported to authorities. He lost his credentials and went to jail. That’s it. That’s the whole story. That’s how these stories should end. Coverups are not ok.

My dad used to tell me “When your shoot at the crows, you almost always hit a dove, and the crows don’t care.” It reminds me to be careful of how I lob criticisms. Because the people I want to hear them aren’t listening. And often an innocent gets hit as collateral damage.

I got to have breakfast with a man who started watching our services online with his family. After almost a year and a half, the whole family came in person, and are being baptized in a few weeks. He said people have noticed that something has changed, and he knows it's Jesus!

I have a speech impediment. I stay away from most words with “rl” sounds. (Sunday said fieth instead of feast) I stutter. More pronounced with I’m anxious or exhausted. I had my tongue clipped in HS and had to relearn words. God called me to preach. He sees things we don’t.
