I finally got this fine old Bavarian violin finished up. it took me about a 6 weeks to totally disassemble and then repair some cracks, replace the tail-block and fit some new pegs, carve and fit a new bridge. It’s a 3/4 violin that a very small lady violinist brought me that has

A violin that I took apart and redid the seams on yesterday and made a new bridge for. A 1960 German violin that was brought in by a client for repair work. It’s going to their daughter who is 12 and wants to learn how to play, and this is the second generation that it’s been in

I got a really nice Martin D-41 in the other day for work. It’s got a fine crack in the top that needs to be glued. It’s not that old either. I’ve been seeing more of these repairs recently. The question is why? It’s owned by a professional musician. It’s not being abused either.

Already been working this morning on a student cello. I’d probably would have wrote it off, but the kids in a disadvantaged family and already plays fairly well and it got dropped on a microphone stand, has not the money to replace the cello either so I’ll fix economically.

Yesterday I took out the old garden beds and renovated them. Dug out the old topsoil and replaced it tilled the new soil, and put new timbers around the garden plot. I dug out some old roses, and put down some garden fabric to suppress the weeds. About 4 hours of work.
