@gwiss Leonard never played again for the same reason Enes Freedom didn't. He was a fringe player when he made headlines, and wasn't able to secure his next contract. Kyrie will still get another contract, but it's going to be a lot smaller than it otherwise could have been.

@realStanVG @pyle_of_kent Players are having significantly longer careers and way fewer career ending injuries. Kevin Johnson played an average of 43 games after the age of 26. Isiah Thomas retired at 32. These are stars, not the role players who outright lost their NBA careers to Europe/Obscurity.

The problem here isn't stats, it's people's ability to parse them effectively. (Enes is also a very effective player and found himself in the wrong era)

For every Patrick Ewing, there were 10 guys like Alonzo Mourning (38 game avg over last 8 years) or Larry Johnson (retired age 31). Meanwhile "load management" LeBron is 3rd in all-time minutes avging 30-8-7 at age 38

@ScoutWithBryan REMINDER: One of the greatest triple threat players ever has made literally zero impact on Portand's place in the standings. They're 7-9 without him, 20-26 with him. They rank 27th defensively. Cherry picking a handful of aesthetic offensive plays doesn't =/= effectiveness.

@NBA_University It's worth noting that OVR has a gameplay application in NBA 2K - it is NOT cosmetic. OVR dictates Starting Lineups / Rotations, as well as how the AI values players in Trades and Free Agency. Which is why you need a non-gameplay lever.

@BoomJohnS @kirkgoldsberry Absolutely. This was his age 33 season. Without the luxury of charts: He shot 54% from the field from 88-91 (age 24-27) but only 49% in this one. He drew more FTs from 87-89 which indicates he was driving more.

@FisolaNYDN If Frank Ntilikina can't beat out Trey Burke for minutes then he shouldn't be playing. The NBA has no shortage of Point Guards - this ain't a kids league. Emannuel Mudiay had a better rookie season than Ntilikina at the same age. He's a backup now. PT gotta be earned.

@sponhourm Dame's best teammate ever was C.J. McCollum. Kyrie has literally played with LeBron and KD. ........Not to mention James Harden, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Kevin Love. ....And despite this gigantic disparity, Kyrie has played a grand total of 9 more playoff games than Dame.

Mike James is the modern Gerald Green. His European tour was due to lack of maturity, not talent. He's in the league for the long haul now. We need more guys like him to phase the Dellavedova's and Arcidiacono's out. Bring Shane Larkin back too for Jeff Teague's job.

@BillyReinhardt ACTUALLY, Kyrie's 2021 season was no different than his 2018 and 2019 seasons with BOS. He was the 6th best player at his position (Curry, Dame, Luka, Trae, CP3), and there are approximately 13-14 non-PGs I'd take ahead of him without blinking.

@Beluba Having layup on a timer is pretty weird given the range of animations that can occur. Any amount of input lag makes for a miserable gaming experience and highly penalizes guards. It's not like there is a timing meter for Dunking

@Puppetbet @hoopshype He got that line in 48 minutes though. Plenty of players average a point per minute (Harden is 38 pts in 37 right now). The way PER works the only thing that matters is how much better Wilt's line is than the average player.

@TheNBACentral @NBATV The problem isn't with Durant's 30. It's that his team's defense is going to give up to 40 to the opposing team's star. The Nets are 30th defensively with a 120.7 DRTG (this would be the worst mark in NBA history).

@CoachKarl22 CP3 easily. He's the best player on both ends. If Nash were more aggressive with his shot he's basically Trae Young. Maybe Stockton could have taken a larger scoring load, but then he wouldn't have been the assists leader by such a disparate margin.

If you recall Cameron Johnson having a 0 3pt tendency in the NBA 2K21 default roster, it's because there were three teams they didn't touch. Shooting tendencies were not updated for the Spurs, Suns, or Thunder.
