@HazbinHotel
Honestly, this is ridiculous. The show wrapped up production in March. We should have gotten a cast list a year ago. That's really worrying and feels like it's being set up to fail. You can't just coast on the goodwill of existing fans and expect that to be enough.
@s3tok41b4
Also thought I'd mention, looking on Reddit apparently back in January people got an email notification saying the playbills would ship sometime in late January, presumably to prevent spoilers. It's May now. Spoilers stopped applying months ago. So why aren't people getting them?
@ruiz_ruizagg20
@UrFaveBrazilian
It's a fan name from the Brazil side of the fandom—the name is associated with energetic troublemaker "Ipad kids", which The Collector who's a childlike god.
The name meanings fit on their own (Enzo means "winner", Gabriel means "God is my strength" and has angel Gabriel vibes).
@NatsArt101
I honestly had a feeling that I was going to get blocked as I typed it even though I was polite about it. I literally just said "Hey Vivziepop, what's the status of the playbills?" but I thought there maybe was a chance she might respond. Bummer my initial hunch was right.
@XxDuncanDonutxX
Agreed. Even though I had an inkling in the back of my mind that I might get blocked for asking (as I've sadly seen Viv block for harmless things, like the "Digital Circus written by Vivziepop" meme), I thought maybe there was a chance she'd give an update. Sadly not, it seems.
@blighthusband
Yup, in the $70 pre-order package. And according to some fans on Reddit back in late January, they got an email saying the playbills would ship in late January, presumably due to spoilers. It's May, spoilers no longer apply, why aren't people getting them?
@Vissorilio
A playbill is a pamphlet given out at Broadway productions that gives info on the cast and the song order. And supposedly these playbills contained spoilers and that's why they were delayed initially til late January, but that excuse stopped holding up months ago.
@coolsans153
The playbills that were part of the $70 pre-order package some Hazbin fans ordered still haven't shipped. People were complaining about it, rightly so. I decided to ask Viv directly, asking "Hey Vivziepop, what's the status of the playbills?" Got blocked afterwards.
@dumbdragon5
@s3tok41b4
A playbill is a small pamphlet they give at Broadway shows, detailing info about the cast and the order of songs in the production.

@AvatarNews_
To be fair, there aren't a lot of Inuit people out there, so it would be somewhat difficult to find an Inuit actress who's close to the same age, can look/act like Katara, and have acting and martial arts experience, and find someone similar who could play Sokka.
@rainyy_kid
@dumbdragon5
@s3tok41b4
Considering she blocked the person who did the "if Digital Circus was written by Vivziepop" meme that was just meant to poke fun and joke around, I'm guessing it's either because she's really thin-skinned or she's scamming people. Or both. Not a good look either way.
@mycroft16
@HazbinHotel
It's nothing about entitlement. it's wanting the show to succeed. If the marketing keeps up how it is currently, only targeting existing fans, the show won't gain a new audience, it will have low ratings, and it will fail, never going beyond Season 1.
@licibun
They didn't cancel it for being queer at all. Dana has stated multiple times she only got pushback from one guy at the start of production, and that was it.
It was too serialized for Disney Channel and didn't pull in good viewership in the 1st season. That's it.
@doodles_destiny
I said "A24 and/or Viv" specifically. The playbills were her idea so she would have some degree of fault there in terms of them existing, even though production-wise it could be out of her control. Though considering it was delayed initially due to spoilers, it seems off.
@HannahCamp83532
@HazbinHotel
It's not a matter of patience at this point. Usually a show releases its cast list a year out, bare minimum. We don't even have that. And if Hazbin doesn't get proper advertising, the show will fail and never go beyond season 1. We don't want it to fail.
@zzjennii
@ULTRAGLOSS
No one had a problem with those because they were just new takes on the public domain fairy tales. But if you're going to do an adaptation of a specific adaptation in a new medium, like Tangled in this case, the characters should be accurate to how they are in that adaptation.
@Chaosqueen97
Font-Facing Crocker gives me vibes of L from Death Note with glasses, so even though he looks like a different character I don't mind much. Front-facing Phineas just looks wrong.
@LadyDisdain8
@Nandes_94
@AvatarNews_
The kid's 11 at the moment, but since filming for the first season will go until May he'll likely be 12 by the time the first season finishes filming.
Pubby basically being confirmed to be greenlit makes this the best April Fool's Day ever. The teaser wouldn't have been put on HBO Max as a new trailer and we wouldn't have gotten all that new Pibby and Bun Bun dialogue if it wasn't.
@wyrdfayth
@HazbinHotel
The thing is, without proper advertising, achieving their vision for the show will be impossible, because it will get low ratings and canned after a season if only the existing fanbase knows about it.
@AnthonyDeadman
@crowsx3
When you think about it, it makes sense—after all, Stanley only realized everyone was gone when he noticed no orders appeared on the monitor.
@puppylev
@margoroid
There needs to be a middle ground. Yes, some feel comforted and seen by it. A lot of others don't. The fact that there's no warning and it was boarded by a ValAngel rape fetishist is sketchy. People disturbed by it are just as valid in their feelings as the comforted.
@SnakeOfWrath
I said "A24 and/or Viv" specifically. The playbills were her idea so she would have some degree of fault there in terms of them existing, even though production-wise it could be out of her control. Since they were supposedly delayed for spoilers, there should be a heads-up.
@PrideRing666
If it's delayed due to the strike and/or the chosen streamer backing out, that's understandable. If they're still going ahead with a summer release, I wonder what A24 is thinking.
@SanekoNaomi
It's actually his eyes glowing. I ship Charlastor too but that's from his eyes glowing. If it were a blush it would be more on his cheeks.
There was one thing with the new
#HelluvaBoss
ep that gave me pause: I was glad Millie got more development, but it felt off. Throughout the show, Blitzo and Moxxie showed self-esteem issues. Millie did not. Feels a bit tacked on.
Loved
#BarbieWire
though, hope we see her more.
@TheMysteryofGF
I know it started as an "energetic troublemaker/iPad kid" meme name in Brazil, but it sounds cool and since i learned the individual name meanings also fit, I feel it's a fitting name for him.
@AlmirVela
The writer strike has nothing to do with it because Hazbin Season 1 finished production in March. The SAG strike would affect it but SAG is letting A24 continue with marketing their stuff, so that's not. I think the streaming service backed out and now A24 has to find a new one.
@Maroon_Asshole
@HazbinHotel
It's nothing about "not getting what people want". It's knowing that most shows get a cast list a year out, we're 2-3 months away from release and Hazbin doesn't have that, and the borderline invisible advertising feels like the show is being set up to fail.
Absolutely adored the new
#TheAmazingDigitalCircus
episode! It had everything I hoped for—existential dread, fantastic character development, and humor that doesn't rely on sex jokes and swearing. Also loved the bond between
#Gummigoo
and Pomni—I ship them now.
#tadcspoilers
@mywonderfulroom
Don't feel foolish. The thing with Let's Players like Chuggaaconroy is that they put so much of themselves out there for the world to see. So we feel like we know them, and it can get toxically parasocial. Everyone has flaws, and some flaws are really shady.
Alita was one of the most enjoyable and creative sci-fi films I've ever had the pleasure of watching, and I and many others have been hoping for an

@byleranalysis
@chaves_nils
@netflix
No he didn't. The cast wasn't aware they were auditioning for Avatar, Iroh's actor confirmed that. They thought they were auditioning for a film called Blue Dawn with fake names and everything (Iroh's actor read for a basketball coach named Harold)
@LiceDepp23
@stryxstruma
@bialinsbear
Even discounting that, the meaning of the name fits too—Enzo means "winner", and Gabriel means "God is my strength", also calling to mind the angel Gabriel which has celestial vibes. Even if you discount the meme aspect, it's actually a fitting name for him.
@Eagullfly
@Ellow_Mello
It's a fan name from the Brazil side of the fandom—the name is associated with energetic troublemaker "Ipad kids".
The name meanings fit on their own (Enzo means "winner", Gabriel means "God is my strength" and has angel Gabriel vibes), but the meme was why it spread.
@Kat59217016
@doodles_destiny
She went to Hot Topic recently to discuss merch, there seems to be some degree of involvement. At the very least it seems scammy to go from "delayed to late January due to spoilers" to "delayed more, no explanation". All people want is an update for what they paid $70 for.
@HarunoSakura
To my knowledge from people on Reddit, the last update was in early March with the claim they'd ship "in the coming weeks" and it's now May. Honestly the block isn't the issue, lack of communication is. I'd still think "Something's up with this" if she didn't respond at all.
@brush_of_chaos
@PrideRing666
True. I did hear a mention that A24 got the go-ahead to advertise things due to meeting SAGs demands, so if true they could still market. But even before that I thought Hazbin might be delayed despite production finishing. due to something with the chosen streamer.
@Fidget000
@vivziereceipts
Honestly, even if she did block me for another reason, the block isn't the issue, it's the scammy-feeling nature of the playbills being delayed to late January due to spoilers, and now it's May, and all we've gotten since then is a vague "delayed, more in coming weeks" in March.
@BrandoBronyPony
@fifteenai
And looking at the data logs, as of June 21st he's currently on 17.1, though the neural network model used on the voices he has up is ver 21. So yes, he's alive, everyone, just give it time.
@MegaArmor7637
@s3tok41b4
I didn't order it myself, but I did see a lot of people today rightly complaining about them not being out yet and the cards not restocking, so I figured "Not sure if anyone has asked Viv directly yet, so I guess I will. Won't be surprised if I get blocked though". Sure enough...
@HannahCamp83532
@HazbinHotel
Except I wasn't being rude. Being rightly worried that the show will be DOA when typically a cast list is announced a year in advance, and we don't even have that for a show supposedly 2 months out at maximum, is not even close to "rude".
@rainyy_kid
@dumbdragon5
@s3tok41b4
Sadly I feel like this kind of behavior has become more common with Viv recently. As someone who hyperfixated on the Hazbin pilot and still has a degree of liking for the series despite its numerous flaws, it's pretty disheartening.
@SlayQueenArt
Quick clarification, I didn't order the playbill package (I almost thought about it but decided against it), but I saw others who had ordered the playbills rightfully complaining (also about them backpedaling on the cards being restocked) so I thought I'd inquire on their behalf.
@MDragon_12
@netflix
Nope. None of the cast knew they were auditioning for Avatar. They thought they were auditioning for a modern film called Blue Dawn. Iroh's actor went into detail on that.
@sammachado9511
@ruiz_ruizagg20
@UrFaveBrazilian
Yeah, I know, hence why I said that from the start. The meanings fitting was just a happy coincidence that ends up working for it people like the name but feel it's dumb to name a character "because memes".
@WolfPedro1121
@AvatarNews_
This is just promo art. Also that's why it's taking til 2024 to come out. They finished filming last year so they want to make sure the VFX look good.
@averylazygirl
Given the nature of the leaks from what I heard, I think the only people who could have access to leak them at all are disgruntled employees, not impatient fans.
@0_d_a_k_o_t_a_0
@karumkin
It's a name in Brazil used as a meme for energetic troublemaker kids.
The individual name meanings fit too (Enzo means "winner", Gabriel means "God is my strength" and calls to mind the angel Gabriel), but that was just coincidence.
@HazbinEclipse
@ayylmaotv
The writers strike wouldn't affect it at all (Hazbin's writing has been done for likely 2 years since production finished 6 months ago). The actors strike does affect it since things are approved on a per project basis, but it seems Hazbin was delayed a month before that.
@ChristiansSays1
@harlowmarshmalo
Dana's AMA. It was a serialized show for older audiences when they wanted to shift Disney Channel's brand to episodic comedies for a younger audience.
Does it fit the Disney brand? Yes. The Disney Channel brand? No.
@_AlexHirsch
@US_Stormwatch
Honestly the fact that this happened on the same day the Book of Bill released is both funny and a tad unnerving because that seems like exactly the sort of thing Bill Cipher would do.
@DisneyAPromos
That description honestly gives "series finale" vibes, but we still have one episode to go... I'm thinking we might learn something big about the Collector in this episode and the finale episode will be about confronting that.
@caroropaez
Reddit has given Depressed Boyfriend the name Quint Corleone and I love that for him... I mean, I came up with it but I'm thrilled people like it since he was just called "Depressed Boyfriend" here.

Maybe because he didn't? The cast didn't know they were auditioning for Avatar and thought it was a modern-day film called Blue Dawn. Iroh's actor went into detail on that—he thought he was reading for a basketball coach named Harold until the callback.
@_MOMOR1NG
@licibun
Dana was very open about having queer kids in the cast from the onset. If it was, you know what Disney would have done? Not greenlit the show at all to begin with.
Dana didn't have to sneak by anything she did. Her and Alex have confirmed that multiple times.
@Wack94425900
@Octavius_DP
One could argue he started out with noble intentions (albeit heavily ego driven) but like the creator says, Light's life was ruined the moment he found the Death Note. He always had that ego and skewed sense of justice. The DN both corrupted him and showed his true self.
@Dug804Va
@challengerST
@DiscussingFilm
We know that Jim and the director are up for doing at least one Alita sequel and they fully intend to providing Disney greenlights it.

If I recall correctly that forward roll was actually Gene Wilder's idea, to further sell the idea of how unpredictable Wonka is.
The man was an absolute legend in the role.
@RiseFallNickBck
@WallgrenR
Dana said in her AMA it was shortened because a single executive didn't like that it was a serialized show on Disney Channel with an older-skewing audience when the channel was shifting its branding to have more episodic shows for younger kids.

@IMPmurderpros
Good art, but the episode has already been near fully animated by now, it would be out of character for Stella, and the writers and animators do what they want, not insert random headcanons.
@SkullyDoggy
It would be one thing if she had done "everything in her power to make things right", but, nope. She screwed people over and never apologized. She failed to provide credit where credit is due. She pays her favorites far more than the others for doing the same work. I could go on.
@Ciellesword
@DanaTerrace
@_AlexHirsch
There was meant to be a beginning and an end—it seems Dana intended Season 3 to be the last, but she thought she'd get 10-20 episodes to tell it, not 3 44-minute specials.

It's a fan name for the Collector that originated from Brazil, since the name "Enzo Gabriel" became popular there in 2019 and became a meme name for energetic troublemaker "iPad kids". The meanings of the name also fit too but that was just a happy accident.

Katara's actress is fully indigenous and Sokka's actor is half-indigenous half-Asian. There may have been other indigenous actors who were a little darker but didn't embody the characters as much or weren't as good in the initial "Blue Dawn" script readings.
@SatorRotas
I thought there would be around 20 episodes like the usual season. Only 8 seems underwhelming. 8 makes sense for something like Stranger Things because those are 50 minutes long, the Hazbin episodes will likely be 20 minutes at most.
