To get the obvious reason out the way. Minimalism. The minimalism style is getting rid of all creativity jerseys have and replacing them with basic color blocking and large font faces.
Some teams have recently made jerseys that became classics. The only problem is the team getting rid of them after wearing them for a short period of time
One thing I noticed about newer NBA jerseys is that they’re more centric to the city the team plays in compared to the teams name like how they used to be
Example using the Hawks:
Old: jersey was centered around the Hawk
New: the jerseys are centered to Atlanta
There are other times when there are great jerseys that become classics, but are ruined because the teams milks it and changes them up too much. A great example of this: Miami Vice.
Now ofc there are still renditions of jerseys that are theme and team branding centric, but they’re usually retros and remakes of classic jerseys & not rlly new jerseys
A huge part to blame in this ofc is Nike. Every year every team gets a new city jersey and all teams that made the playoffs gets a new earned edition jersey. That’s a lot of New Jersey’s every single year. It’s watering it down.
And ofc teams will get lazy and to please fans will just bring back a fan favorite retro. While this is great, it’s not showing any creativity rather just laziness. You can’t create new classics if we’re constantly bringing back jerseys that were made and BECAME classics
That’s the end of the thread. These are just my observations also. We just need better jerseys from nba teams instead of these weak ass rebrands with minimalist designs. It ain’t that hard to make creative designs and then KEEPING them.
Another thing is feeding us a large amount of jerseys that are good but not great. There’s too many jerseys being put out, and with this they’re watering it down.
Leonard Floyd is expected to sign with the Atlanta
#Falcons
, per source. He re-joins Raheem Morris who he had previously played for in Los Angeles, now they meet again in Atlanta.
We can see this reflected in almost every NBA teams logo’s. Detailed design logos were just so much better and the new minimalism is just flat out boring and is killing design & art associated with each team
It’s crazy how
LeBron James, DeMar DeRozan, and Kyrie Irving will all play today yet Malachi Flynn had the performance of the day with
73 points and 12 rebounds
We can see this reflected in almost every NBA teams logo’s. Detailed design logos were just so much better and the new minimalism is just flat out boring and is killing design & art associated with each team
Kyle Lowry.
Without Lowry I wouldn’t be a raptors fan. This man means so much to me. Delivered us a championship and established himself as the greatest Raptor of all time. I love you until I die man. Thank you for all the memories, thank you for everything❤️❤️
